Chapter 139 YOUR FUTURE DAUGHTER IN LAW.
SLOANE’S POINT OF VIEW.
I stared at Lucien with flushed cheeks as the car pulled up to an estate. My cheeks were as red as a tomato, as I tried to fix myself after Lucien had fucked me barely five minutes ago. My heart still pounded from the force of the orgasm I just had, as the aftershocks racked through my limbs.
“Lucien.” I grimaced as I tried to smooth my hair as best I could, but my curls were stubborn. No matter what I did, without a brush, I would still have sex hair. My boyfriend’s laughter pulled me out of my fussing, as I stared at him with a scowl.
“It’s not funny! I don’t want your grandparents seeing me like this, not with the words ‘I just had sex’ plastered on my face.” I whisper-yelled as I tried to smooth my skirt and my curls at the same time. I hated that my boyfriend didn’t look in the least bit affected.
Matter of fact, he looked like he hadn’t just thrusted savagely inside me while I rode him not even five minutes ago. All he did was fix his pants and work his belt, and he looked like he was good to go. In my fussing, I hadn’t realised that he had his hand on me with that same smirk on his face.
My eyes took in the pink brush and wireless curling wand he held, as I squeaked up at him. What the actual fuck?
“How do you just have these things in your car willy nilly?! The perfect comb and wand too…….Lucien, explain yourself, now.” I said, glaring at him with my hand on my hips.
“I started leaving them in my car, because I noticed the way you always fuss around with your hair. Seriously, babe, you’re like a child with it. If you want me to have the best team of stylists around you every time, that can be arranged.” He replied, his hands gently flipping me around. His hands gathered some part of my hair, and started brushing away.
“Oh, so…it isn’t for some girl you’ve had before you and I started dating….well, fake dating.” I corrected sheepishly, the memory of how Lucien and I started speaking more than a few words in mind. It felt absolutely crazy that months after that day, I was utterly in love with the guy who had bullied me for years at that school.
“Gir?” He echoed, like the thought of it was ridiculous. It made me giggle, but I stilled myself instantly as he turned on the wand, which also looked like a straightener. Honestly, technology was fucking weird.
“Yeah. I thought it was for your former girlfriend.” I said, clearing my throat awkwardly, as Lucien gathered my hair into the wand. I stared at him from the reflection in the tinted windows. It felt like my boyfriend was some stylist in his former life, because the way his hands moved expertly was beyond me. “How are you so good at this?”
“First of all, I never had any girlfriend before you, nor did I allow any girl in my car aside from you. And second of all, I learned how to do different styles weeks ago, because I have seen the way you handle your hair. Seriously, baby, you’re going to have to do better now that you’re going to be the face of our new company.”
“Wait, what?!” I yelled, turning, but my mean boyfriend flipped me back in place so fast.
“Stay still so I don’t burn you accidentally.” He scolded me like I was a child, making me pout.
“Lucien, what company are you talking about?” I asked, watching as he gathered the last of my hair and curled it perfectly so my hair looked like a celebrity hair stylist had made it.
“I decided to open one after I saw the way you handle your hair. Don’t worry, you’ll get to test everything beforehand, and we will talk later about this. Now, you have to see your future in-laws.” He snickered and turned off the wand.
“Ugh.” I groaned into the seat as the thought of meeting his grandmother again floored me. I didn’t tell Lucien or anyone else about it, but she and I had already met a few months ago, before Dad came forward with the truth about my real identity. I remember the way she pounded at me to leave her grandson because she didn’t trust that a scholarship kid could ever be good news.
I’d hated her then, but when I learned what Eldric had done to their daughter, and Lucien's mom, Alicia, I completely understood. We’d met a few weeks ago, after my dad had come forward, in a restaurant. She apologised and got me ice cream before taking me shopping.
We also bonded with childhood pictures of my boyfriend, but he would never know that. It was our secret. Today, we’d act like we were meeting for the first time, and not like we hadn’t been talking consistently ever since that day.
“You look perfect,” Lucien whispered and kissed my cheeks before pressing the button to open the door. “Let’s go, Mrs Ravenscroft.”
I pretended to glare at him, like his comment didn’t leave me giddy and excited every time he said it. The fact that I would be his wife, and he would be my husband….it made me feel…..hopeful.
I inhaled the sweet-smelling air of the estate, the scent of berries flooding my nostrils as I wiped my hands on my skirt, before joining it with Lucien’s outstretched one. The matriarch and patriarch of the Ravenscroft family stood in front of the mansion with their fleet of staff behind them.
I smiled at his grandmother, Celene, excitement settling in my bones at the thought of finally seeing her again. It had only been two weeks since I’d seen her, but I still longed to see her.
“Lucien.” She gasped, stretching her hands wide as she met us in the middle. She pulled her grandson into a tight hug, her eyes secretly smiling at me as I tried not to giggle. “I missed you, my boy.”
“Missed you too, grandma.” He responded with a boyish smile on his face.
“And who is this?” She asked, her eyes fully settling on me.
“Grandma, Grandpa…..meet Sloane,” Lucien said, pulling me closer to him with a wide smile. “Your future daughter-in-law.”
