Chapter 138 IS IT REALLY OVER?

Chapter 138 IS IT REALLY OVER?

LUCIEN’S POINT OF VIEW.
The sound of the sirens had barely faded away as I stared at the fleet of police cars drive off the street and round the corner, when the voice of my father ricocheted in the back of my skull again;
‘You’re going to die, Sloane.’
He had another thing coming if he thought I would let him even get within an inch of square ground near her. My arm curled protectively around her as she tightened her hold on me. I felt her tremble against me, and I knew the words the bastard had spoken had gotten to her. My hand pulled her even closer to me, as my jaw tightened. I wished so hard that it was possible to hide her inside my chest; as long as Eldric Hayes’s eyes never looked in her direction, talk less of her ever again.
“It’s over, Lucien.” I heard Aunt Erika say from beside me, her voice jolting me from my thoughts as I stared at the place the fleet of cars had turned to. For some reason, I didn’t feel settled in my spirit.
Which was odd, because I should, right?
After all, I just got rid of my mother’s murderer and sent him off to jail…he would never know what freedom means again. So why do I feel like the storm hadn’t passed?
Like it was just about to start…..?
“Over?” I echoed, my eyes moving from where the cars once were, and over to my girlfriend, who was still shaken in my arms. “Hey,” I whispered, making her lift her head to look at me.
“He said… he said that he’ll kill me.” Her voice came out strangled, her breathing was uneven as she looked around us like she was scared Eldric would pounce on her,
“No,” I said, my voice coming out firmer than I thought it would, especially with the way my hands shook against her. I did that successfully, pulling her into me so she could wrap her hands around my midsection in a hug. “I’ll never let him come close to you. Edric will never breathe the same air as you, Sloane. I swear it on my mother’s grave.”
I vowed, but I could see the way Aunt Erika’s hands trembled as well… it was like we both knew something was terribly wrong, and I didn’t know why.
I watched as my aunt turned and spoke to the other officers my family had hired from our security company. The tight feeling in my chest eased a little as I watched with an absent expression, her signature papers, and sent them off the legal way.
The sound of someone clearing his throat beside me forces my attention away. It was the governor. The spineless, but useful bastard bowed low to me, his lips practically kissing my designer shoes as he said, “Master Ravenscroft……did we do things exactly as you liked?”
“Yes, Governor. Don’t worry, you’ll be getting that endorsement for your next election campaign.” I replied before he asked, because both of us knew the only reason the motherfucker was even asking me anything was because of that.
“Ah, thank you, sir.” He breathed, a wide smile reminding me of Chucky on his face. I grimaced and turned away from him towards my aunt instead. “Are we ready to go?” I asked, my grip on Sloane tight as she breathed in my scent, as I did hers.
“Of course, Lucien.” She replied. “We can go see them now.”
“See who?” Sloane asked, pulling her head from my chest, a frown on her beautiful face. I pecked her lips softly and smiled at how beautiful she looked, even amidst all this chaos.
“We’re going to see my grandparents, baby.” I smiled at the way her eyes widened comically, as a pout formed on her lips.
“Your grandparents? Like the OG Ravenscrofts….no way, Lucien.” She rushed out, shaking her head at me like that was so terrible. “What if they don’t like me?” She asked.
“That’ll never happen. No sane person would not like you.”
“But Eldric did not like me.”
“I said sane, Sloane. Eldric is a demented bastard whose brain has been eaten by some hungry creature. He doesn’t count.” I said, fixing her with a deadpanned look.
She giggled, burying her face into my chest. The sound eased my burdens a little, as the constricting feeling in my chest eased, a smile tugging at my own lips. “Still……what if?”
“I was confident when I had to see your father, though.”
“That’s because you’re THE Lucien…..I am just an innocent mortal in your world, your majesty.” She mocked, her lips pulling into a pout again. I smiled as I stared down at her small, beautiful frame, my own smile wider as the feeling in my chest completely disappeared. I pulled her into a kiss, my lips devouring her softly, as my hands pulled her closer to me.
I made sure to lift her in my arms, so her legs wrapped around me. Pulling back, I flashed her a mischievous grin and buried my head into her neck playfully. “Now, you’re stuck,” I said and yelled before she could say anything else. “Hurry, open the door before she escapes!”
“No!” My girlfriend waield dramatically but did not let go or loosen her grip on my neck, even as I ran towards my car, and got us inside with her still in my arms, but this time, she sat on my thighs.
“You’re impossible.” She giggled, tugging at my hair softly, her head buried in my neck as her other hand caressed my chest slowly.
“And you love me,” I whispered as my driver got in, turned on the ignition, and started driving.
“I do love you.” She whispered in my ear sexily, her voice low enough to make me grab her thigh harshly, a flood of arousal rushing to my groin.
“And I love you too, future Mrs Ravenscroft,” I whispered, kissing her lips slowly. She pulled away from me slightly, her eyes wide at my last comment as she said,
“Mrs Ravenscroft? Lucien, you can’t joke like that.” She giggled again, and I decided that it was my new favourite thing about her.
‘You have a favourite thing about her every damn day, you fool.’ My inner self barked at me, but I shunned him. He was just jealous that I got to have someone so perfect in my arms, while he sulks away.
“It’s the truth, though, we’re engaged, Sloane,” I said with a laugh.
“When did that happen without me knowing?”
“You don’t remember. I told your father that we should get engaged to get rid of the Killian thing. It was something I wanted to do long ago; I just took advantage of Killian’s foolishness.”
“Well…” She drew out, folding her arms on her chest as she feigned annoyance. “We still haven’t had the engagement gala yet, so it doesn’t count.”
“We can have it tonight if you want,” I replied, my smile still on my face as I whipped my phone out in readiness to hit the right contacts.
“Lucien!” She jerked, a small smile on her lips; the very one she tried to hide from me. I pulled her closer to me, my hands caressing that ticklish spot on her lip slowly. “Stop that!” She laughed, slapping away at my chest softly.
I smirked and crashed my lips to hers again, my heart pounding like it would burst with the amount of love I had in my heart for one human.
I never thought someone could have me at her mercy, but Sloane, without knowing it, has rendered me completely useless to other people. And useful only for her. My entire life was controlled by a look on her face….it felt as if she had ever died….I would go along with her instantly.
It is said that you only find your soulmate once in life, and I am certain….no….it is without a shadow of a doubt in my entire being, that I have found mine.
I could only hope that the demons in my life do not snatch her from me. My fingers found the button of the divider, as my other hand pushed up her skirt, and found her swollen clit through her panties. I made sure to show her exactly how much I loved her again, and relished in the way she screamed her pleasure in my ears with every stroke.
