HER PREGNANCY

HER PREGNANCY
Chapter 91

Cyril’s pov

“But if it's her will?’’ Crestwood urged, with deep signs of concern and worry in his eyes and voice.

“So he'll turn her against it, to protect his own selfless interest.” I shrugged, signaling Lance to open up the car door as we approached.

“Permit me to protest a bit, but with his mate that he recently lost and the pubs with him, I think this is the time he really needs the wife by his side.’’ He insisted.

This was simply Crestwood doing whatever within his capacity to protect the peace and interests of his territorial residents. Sadly, it wasn't in my interest to grant him some level of assistance this time. What needed to be done, needed to be done.

“I won't have you question me anymore on this topic. I've told you what needs to be done, it's left for you to do whatever you wish. But I'd advise you think wisely.’’ I said with a finality tone, walking ahead of him to get in the car.

Lance shut the door and assumed the driver's seat. I refused to spare another glance out at Crestwood and focused on the windshield.

“He's persistent isn't he?’’ Lance spoke up once we drove out of the gates.

“That's his problem to deal with, I made my terms clear already.’’ I stated blankly.

After all, was any of these worth it if Alessia's pregnancy belonged to Thompson? I couldn't come to terms with the fact that she still got intimate with him despite everything that's happened between them. Just how blindly in love with Thompson was she?

“Hey, did you hear me?’’ Lance called, swatting a glance at me through the rearview mirror.

“Just focus on the road.’’ I snapped curtly.

I was in the least mood to accommodate silly banters, meeting Alfred was the only priority in my head.

“We are here.’’ Lance announced, which was very much needed cause it sprung me out of my well of thoughts.

I headed in straight, literally on my heels as I strolled to the private clinic space. My breath thinned when I caught Alfred’s back while he worked on substance.

“My king.’’ He turned, alerted by my noisy intrusion while I swayed my eyes around in search of Alessia.

“Uh.. Lady Alessia left. She has the result papers.’’ He let out.

“What's it's content?’’ I inquired, my heart thumping like it's pop up my throat.

‘‘She has a growing pub in her belly. In less than three months she should produce a pub.’’ He answered detailedly.

My heart squirmed. I stepped backwards a bit to support my stance with the door, but a silhouette by the door caused me to flinch.

“Oh, lady Alessia!’’ Alfred regarded.

“I'm only a month and seven days gone, the pregnancy is yours.’’ She blurted out, her gaze piercing into mine without an atom of emotion.

It was difficult to read through those blank eyes what was going through her mind.

“W-what?’’ I stuttered, almost losing my feets as I struggled for balance.

“You were my last sex, Cyril. Thompson hasn't been with me for two months and a few days.’’ She spelt out vaguely.

“Uh..’’ Alfred cleared his throat. “I think I should excuse you…..’’

I snatched Alessia's wrist before he could finish, pulling her out of the room. She towed obediently; if I was to be truthful, I felt slightly shocked by her yeildance.

I didn't stop until we were in my chambers.

She remained by the door, her gaze fixated on the floor no matter what movement I made.

“Do you mind explaining what you said back there?’’ I put out.

“What else do you wanna hear, Cyril? You don't think you're really the owner of the pregnancy?’’

“No. It's not that.’’ I quickly stated, torn between desperacy and uncertainty.

“I-I'm just saying….what do you plan on doing? You know there's no way I'm letting you have my pub under Thompson's care right?’’

A nearly inaudible scoff dropped from her lips. ‘‘You think Thompson would want that either?’’

“I don't give a fuck about what he wants!”

“I have no plans of returning to him.’’ She snapped into my yelling. “Who knows, I might not even make it alive tomorrow.’’ Her tone went bitter.

My heart stopped. Leaving me dazed for a moment as it hit me hard.

“T-t-tomorrow…’’ I mumbled.

“So there is no need for all these talks. We should talk about it only after I survive.’’ She huffed silently, turning to leave.

“Alessia!’’ I called back.

She stopped but refused to glance back.

Marching the little distance towards her, I pulled her into a fucking tight hug.

My heart pulsated with dread as I wrapped her skin in mine. I dreaded the scary possibility of not being able to hold her like this ever again; to have her overwhelming scents dominate the air with its delicateness; or even seeing her around anymore.

“You're gonna make it out alive, I promise.’’ I breathed out. I couldn't bear those ill thoughts any more. She had to make it alive.

“You have to fight with everything in you, don't yield in no matter what, Alessia.’’ I urged. I dreaded her silence. Did she lose hope already?

I pulled her out of my embrace to stare into her face, but the sight I met had my heart breaking to cracks.

“Why're you so teary, you don't believe me?’’ My voice, fucking feeble, expressed my total demoralisation at her hopeless look.1

“It's what I have to do, irrespective of the fact that my life is on the line…..’’ She sniffled.

“Don't see it that way!’’

“There's no other way to do it, Cyril. Aloha told me my chances of survival already.’’ She snapped.

I lost my voice at that affirmation.

“Don't say things to make me feel better. It really doesn't help any much.’’

With that, she pulled away from me and headed straight out, slamming the door shut to my ears. I got my phone instantly and dialed Aloha, ire clutching up in my chest.

“You didn't mention the chances of survival to her after I told you not to!’’ I thundered once the line connected.

“I told you it required her to know.’’ She stood her ground.

‘‘What did you tell her?’’

She sighed a bit. “What I didn't tell you, my king. Her chances of survival has reduced due to the pregnancy. My condolences.’’
