Chapter 132 - Powerful Sonic Scream
“Not you again!” Jasmine cried out.
She hastily pulled herself up and propels herself into the air.
Before her, stood a 10ft transparent man. They encountered this creature known as the ‘ghost-banshee’ when they first arrived in the land of the dead. This creature possesses the ability to let out a powerful sonic scream like a banshee. The only difference with a banshee is that they can be invisible.
“Oh fuck!” Jack cried out. He quickly sprang back to his feet. He knew with this creature’s ability to become invisible, it was impossible to easily defeat it.
Before Jasmine could get to the ghost-banshee, the creature disappeared letting Jasmine crash to the ground.
Jack ran towards Jasmine to help her up. “Are you alright?” he asked. He crossed his right hand on her waist as he pulled her up.
“I will live,” she muttered.
“How in the hell do we defeat this creature?”
“We need to keep moving. We already have a lot of targets on our backs.” Jasmine tilted back and front on her heels. “Night is already on us.”
“No one is going anywhere!”
A loud terrifying voice echoed down to them.
As they both turned around, they made a profile of the ghost-banshee staring down at them. “We have done nothing to you,” Jack said.
“None of my business.” The ghost banshee glared at them.
With its mouth wide open, the creature inhales deeply. He aims at letting out another powerful sonic scream. But too bad for the creature, Jasmine saw that coming. She didn’t let the creature release another powerful scream at them again.
Conjuring an energy blast, she threw it at the ghost-banshee repelling the creature. “It's gone, for now, we need to keep moving,” she said with a glance at Jack.
Apart from salt, energy blast and lightning blast can repel ghosts and ghost-banshees. If they happen to be in the human world and the ghost is hunting a house, the best way to get rid of the ghost permanently is to salt its remains and burn it.
Some ghost proves stubborn to leave after they die. They chose to remain in the living world. The longer they stay, the more they become obsessed that they end up turning into violent spirit that hunts people.
Witches have devised a way to stop them. They could use salt to repel them or force them out from their possessed victim. If they could find the remains of the ghost, they could salt them and burn them which will force the ghost to cross over to the land of the dead or journey into the underworld to hell.
This could have been a way to get rid of the ghost-banshee that have been after their asses but too bad they are in the land of the dead. However, if Jasmine could capture it, she can haul the creature down to hell. Nevertheless, that will be a service to Werewolf Overlord and hell. She’s no longer a part of hell or Werewolf Overlord’s loyal demons, and won’t let such thoughts come to her.
Walking down the woods for ten minutes, they finally came to a halt near a narrow rocky part. They could hear the sound of the flowing water coming from a few kilometers away.
“No, no, no!” Jasmine cried. “We should be staying away from anything water till we get our asses out of here.”
“Why?” Jack cast a wide-eyed gaze on her. He was curious. After all, they can’t stay away from water because they need it to keep them going.
“Don’t you get it?” Jasmine turned to face Jack and then continued in a refined tone. “Who knows, Triton or Poseidon might be waiting in any of the waters.”
“I think we should just…”
Jack's words were pushed back to his throat as he caught a glimpse of a chariot pulled by two white horses. The chariot flew over them and finally land.
Something looks familiar. This chariot is owned by Azulu’s village. The only village they have come across with souls of human souls that have found rest.
Jack didn’t take his eyes off the chariot and the white horse. He was patiently waiting for its rider as he has not seen anyone yet.
“No one is in there,” Jasmine whispered.
“We can’t be too sure.” Jack crouches as he moved quietly like a tiger stalking its prey. Getting close to the chariot, he peeped making a profile of Azulu lying down. “What the hell!”
Jack quickly stood to his feet and boldly walked into the chariot.
Jasmine needed to satisfy her curiosity. She can’t just stand some paces away expecting to know what Jack has seen. “What’s the matter?” she asked rushing towards the chariot.
Jack squeezed out a reply in a cracking voice. “It’s Azulu.”
Good thing that Azulu doesn’t look dead to him. Human souls can’t die. However, it can sustain injuries. But this wasn’t the case for Azulu. He was panting heavily that he couldn’t open his mouth to speak. He’s just trying to catch his breath.
His white cape has been stained with the demon’s blood. “It’s that demon’s blood on your cape?” Jasmine inquired but got no reply from Azulu. She could easily tell when she sees a demon’s blood. It’s quite strange from the humans’ blood. Some of the demons have red blood, some blue, and some black.
Azulu’s cape was stained in red demon’s blood and the similar appearance to humans’ blood didn’t confuse Jasmine. She could tell the difference.
“What do you think went wrong?” Jack glanced at Jasmine with a concerned look on his face.
If Jasmine could identify the blood stain on Azulu’s white cape, that meant they were other demons here with them. This called for serious concern. Perhaps Werewolf Overlord had sent his demons to the land of the dead to vanquish them.
