Chapter 124
Chapter 124
Six Months Later
Well, the last six months have been like a big mess. I mean a literal mess, like baby clothes everywhere and blankets. We all clean all the time, but there are two of them, which means we do a lot of laundry. I didn’t know we were going to have so much happen at once. Right now, Kane is catching up on paperwork. He didn’t have time to do it because something always came up. The babies are starting to try to crawl now. It is adorable to watch, but once they can go everywhere, we will have even less time for things. Xaviar looks just like his daddy, and, well, Sasha is a little mini-me. My father loves his time with them and sends tons of pictures. He is so making up for the time he couldn’t spend with me. His Facebook is full of pictures of him with both babies and just both babies. Yolanda and Harry have dinner with us almost every night, and they are not busy. Link still lives with us, but I think he is worried about missing something about the babies. Kendra is also still around, but we let her make our old apartment her own because she was having a hard time focusing on her schoolwork. Link wears headphones, so he doesn’t have to worry about the noise when he does his work.
Today, everyone is busy. School is officially out for summer, and we are booked. I am in the B&B kitchen while the babies are in the play area on the other side of the room. Kane said there had been some threats from my family towards me and we know they are always sending something but according to the family PI and my tech company my family is up to something. I have a guard at every door of this kitchen so no one can walk out with my kids. Link is sitting with them playing to help me. He knows something is going on, but he doesn’t know what. He just knew the babies were going to be here instead of home and insisted on coming too. He is always near them when he can be.
“Link, are you hungry? I just finished our lunch. Your brother should be here soon.” I look over to Link to see his answer.
“Ma...ma...” Sasha yells, and everyone in the kitchen laughs. I guess she is hungry, too.
“Yes, Liv, I am ready to eat. I see Kane walking up now.” Link says while picking up Sasha, who is trying to climb out of the play area.
Kane walked in and gave the babies a kiss before coming and giving me a kiss. “I will grab Xaviar and take the kids to the dining table.” He said while walking to pick our son up.
“Okay, the servers and I will be out in a second. I just need to make our plates.” I say, waving at my kiddos before they go through the door.
“You go be with your family. You are here all the time because people call out. This is the first time this week my brother hasn’t been busy so you guys could eat together. I got this; we will be out in a few minutes.” Kendra says, walking in the door to start her shift.
“Okay, Kendra, I made enough for the whole kitchen. I will take the babies' bowls so they can start sooner. I am sure they are getting fussy.” I tell Kendra, hugging her before grabbing the bowls. I pureed up some chicken, green beans, and sweet potatoes for them. I love making their food; I know they have the vitamins they need. I walked into the dining area and walked to our private area that is off to the left side of the room. It is open to the rest of the room but is also a little room with a wide doorway. I see Kane and Link playing with the twins who are in their highchairs we keep here. Sasha spots me first and starts clapping her hands and yells, “ma..., ma...”
“I am here, princess; I brought your food. No need to try to jump out of your seat,” I tell them as Ka
ne and Link take the bowls from me. I guess they are feeding them. “Thank you, guys, for feeding them. I made lasagna today.”
“You're welcome. This is your lunch break. I am sure you are hot from being by the stove all this time. Lasagna sounds good and filling. My mom is going to be here soon with the housekeeper from her house to help tackle the mess at home. She said you both talked about it.” Kane tells me. Kendra walks in with our plates, and one of the servers is carrying another tray with salad and bread.
“Yeah, she talked to me when we had lunch yesterday. She said she noticed how tired we have been, so after tomorrow, Samantha will show up every day for a couple of hours to clean up. The last housekeeper we had is part of the reason my parents are messing with us now. I don’t want to take any chances, but Samantha said she would be happy with the extra work. She is only part-time with your parents. Your mom said she doesn’t have much to do at her house anymore, when everyone is always here anyway. Your dad is coming to help put her in the system, so we don’t have to stop working to take care of it. Kendra, I take it you are eating in the kitchen?” I say, but I notice Kendra didn’t bring her a plate out.
