Chapter 113

Chapter 113
“Yeah love, let's go get those quick. Sis we will be right back.” He says standing up to go help me. We go and grab the dips by putting them on a tray. I find the bread I cut up and put in a zip lock bag while Kane finds the chips. I grab one of the bread baskets to dump the bread into two bowls or chips and put them on another tray. Kane sets the bag on the island and then wraps his arms around me, “just stack everything and we will pour them in the bowls outside love.” He says after I put the bread in the basket and cover it up with the cloth that comes with the basket. 
“Ok baby, we can put the chips in the bowl outside. I can’t wait to eat some spinach dips and bread. Will you grab me a sprite please?” I ask before restacking the bowls and putting the bags of chips unopened inside of them. I am doing it that way, so I only need one tray now. Kane takes the tray from me after putting the soda on it first. We didn’t bug Yaz or Kendra because they were talking about Kendra working with her 2 days a week during the school year next year when she has a free period. She wants to learn from all of us. We go set everything on the table and I help Kane set it all out while he put the chips in the bowls. 
“I will make you a plate, take your soda and go sit down.” Kane says handing me a soda. I see Kendra bring a crockpot out with little smoke sausages with BBQ sauce in it on the counter on the opposite side of the BBQ and plugged it in. We already have plates, bowls and plastic ware outside. 
“Yes, I will go sit. Can get me some of those too please?” I ask while taking the soda. 
“Yes, I will get you some.” Kane says and then gives me a kiss, sending me off. I wonder how long he is going to keep me in a bubble. He is so worried that I will overdo it. 
I walk over and sit with Selena, “he is so worried about you, I doubt he will let you do anything while he is around,” she tells me. 
I sigh, “I know, it’s ok though, he is just trying to keep us safe with all the crazy people circling. I will let him do whatever makes him feel ok. I don’t mind letting him pamper me if it eases his mind. If I get to work and see everyone, I am happy.” I tell her with a smile knowing Kane will be baby proofing the house way too early. 
“Yeah, he just wants to make sure no one can hurt you guys. I don’t blame him for the things he has seen happening and heard happening. He is very protective of you; I love that he has you.” She says with a smile as he walks up with a plate and a bowl with a fork in it setting them in front of me. 
“I love that I have her too. They will be safe with the dogs and the security; we will be ok.” He says to his sister, and she nods knowing he is just protective. We are all okay with everything that everyone has been through. We don’t mind letting him do what makes him feel like things are safe. 
“I know, I know, I wasn’t saying it as a dig; it was an observation. I think it is a good thing that you want to protect your family. We will all spoil that baby like crazy. Now I am going to get some of that to eat, it looks good.” She says and then gets up to go get a plate.
“How are you feeling love?” Kane asks well I take a bite of the dip with the bread. 
I smile knowing he is just worried, I finish my bite so I can answer, “I am feeling ok, tired from all the cooking and cleaning this week. I am excited about everything, and I am having fun with everyone here. We should be getting an email or phone call about my blood work soon. Do you have your phone on you? I left mine in our room. I keep getting calls from an unknown number. I was going to have you investigate it because I don’t like that someone is calling me that I don’t know. It is probably Tina or my bio mom.” I say and then take a bite of the food he brought me. 
“Yeah, I have my phone on me, and I will text my guy to see if he will investigate it. We could have a restraining order against whomever it was. If so, we could report it to the lawyer so they can do something about it. Don’t worry love I am on it.” He says while shooting off a text. The guy he was talking about has access to our electronics to help when needed. 
“Ok baby sounds good.” I continue eating while Kane does what he needs to do. I look around and see the whole family having fun. My dad’s friends stay away from everything just so people don’t know their faces. They want to be able to blend in anywhere and listen in to conversations. They like the whole PI thing and plan to open a PI business in town after dad’s security company is up and running enough that 2 of them can. 
After everyone sat down to eat, they were all talking about the things we could do for the baby and all the stuff they were going to get them. When we get the email about my bloodwork, Kane cuts in when his mom finishes gushing about how cute the new baby stuff is. “Your blood work came back, and it says everything is fine, but you are anemic, so she is going to drop some iron pills off at the gate in the morning. Other than that, everything looks okay.”
