CHAPTER 163 I, TITUS THE ALPHA, REJECT YOU, SELENA

“You should leave here, Selena.” Titus stood up. “I think you should go.”

“Well. I won’t leave until you tell me what is wrong with you. Titus, you need me.”

Titus began to laugh. “Do I need you?” He just shook his head. The last thing he needs is a murderer’s daughter. The daughter of the murderer of his parents. And the last thing she needs is the man who stole her father away from him. She isn’t at fault, but he still can’t be with her unless he bears a great deal of guilt. Titus turned his back to her. “Leave while I’m still being very nice to you.”

“Titus. Is this some sort of prank? Because if it is, I don’t think I’ll enjoy this game as much.” Selena approached him. “Titus. What’s going on?” She took his hands and placed them against her face. “Do you love me? You expressed your love for me, and I reciprocated. Didn’t we say forever? We got married, right?”

Titus worked hard to keep the tears at bay. He was in pain, but he refused to show it to her. It was better that they split up now than continue to hurt each other. “It was all a mistake, Selena,” he stated flatly. “Are you blind? I never wanted you. I was only interested in you because of your body. Now that I have it, I’m done. I’m sick of you now. It’s probably time to go on to the next victim. This is exactly what I do. I enjoy hurting people for fun.”

Selena slapped him straight away. Following that, she shook her head. “No. I don’t believe you.”

Titus rested his hand on his cheek. He averted his eyes from her. Of course, he loved her. Of course, he still loves her, but they will never be together. Whatever they do, this truth will continue to split them apart. Does the fact that he knows her father is a hunter imply that her entire family is also a hunter? Should that be the case, he will pursue them. Selena will never forgive him if he kills them all. After all, it had always come down to vengeance. It was never intended to kill someone for love.

“So, Selena, you should believe me because I don’t love you. As previously stated, I never did it. You were nothing more than a pawn in my chess game. You were simply someone I desired for personal reasons. I am fed up with it now. You should go.”

Selena was hurt by his words, but why does none of it sound true? Why does it sound made up? She refuses to leave until he informs her of what she did. “You’re a coward if you force me to walk through that door without explaining why you’re upset with me. Don’t do this, Titus.” She got him to look at her. “If I have done something wrong, please tell me. I’ll apologize for this. I’ll beg you for it, but don’t treat me like I’m not part of your life. As if I weren’t a part of your life.”

“You’ve done nothing wrong.”

“So why are you acting this way towards me?”

“Because I don’t love you, Selena!” Titus yelled. He pulled her hands away from his. “Selena, I never will love you. From now on, I am rejecting you as my Luna because you will never be mine. You and I are not going to be together. Not in this world, in another dimension, or in the afterlife. We will never be together because I, the Alpha of the Storm Wielder Wolf Pack, reject you, Selena O’Brien.”

Selena stumbled and lost her balance after hearing those words come from his mouth. It felt as if a sharp knife was piercing her chest. As she looked at him, she gagged, as if a large rock had become lodged in her throat and needed to be thrown out. “No. No. Please don’t....don’t do this, Titus. I love you. I...” She reached for his hand, but he rejected it. If he took it, he would lack the courage to drive her away from him. He felt pain as he watched her go through it. He rejected her and was in the most pain.

Selena noticed that his face had become hazy. She fell, but was caught before she became unconscious.

“Please don’t do this. Titus, Titus, Titus.” Selena’s voice started to fade, and she felt jolted awake. She looked around and realized how familiar the room was. A sigh escaped from her lips. “Great. He brought me back home.” Selena rolled onto her back and fixed her gaze on the ceiling. She exhaled deeply before taking off the bed sheet that had been covering her legs.

Selena sat up, looking at the time. When she approached her wardrobe, the door opened. Trisha and Dalett dashed in, fully dressed in their uniforms. “Good morning, Selena.”

Selena was surprised when she saw both of them. “Why are you...?”

Dalett cut her off. “Dressed in school uniforms?” She chuckled. “Go to school, Selena. Have you forgotten?”

“I think she has.” Trisha moved over to Selena’s bed and sat down. She smiled and looked up at Selena. “She is married now, Dalett. She believes she no longer has to attend school.”

Of course! Her friends have no idea what happened between her and Titus, or how brutally he turned her down the night before. She is still in pain, remembering every damaging word he said. How could he have left her in such a way? How could he possibly have rejected her in such a way? How could he forget what they had in just a few minutes? Selena sniffed, hoping to keep her tears at bay.

“How could I have forgotten? Just because I’m married doesn’t mean I have forgotten who I am as a person with larger ambitions. As you can see, I’m heading to the toilet to get ready.” Selena returned to her table and grabbed her phone before entering the bathroom. When she got inside, she checked to see if the door was properly locked. Selena walked to the bathtub and dialed Tyler after turning on the tap. She could have mind-linked him, but she doesn’t want to use any aspect of her werewolf abilities, especially since Titus rejected her hours ago. “Can you hear me, Tyler?” Selena started speaking as soon as the phone was picked up.

“What is the noise?”

“The water’s on. I’m worried Trisha and Dalett will overhear our conversation.”

“You could have mind-linked me, then. Are you OK? I didn’t expect to hear from you. Is everything okay?”

Selena took a seat on the jacuzzi rim. “No. Nothing is fine.” She didn’t mind shedding a few tears for Tyler. She had gotten to know him over the last month, and he was the person she could trust the most. Tyler is a compassionate person, and his ability to understand her has brought them closer together.

“Luna. Are you OK? Why are you crying?” Selena sniffed. “Titus. Titus did something, Tyler. I... I.. I mean, he said something terrible to me last night.”

“What did Titus do? No, he will never say anything hurtful to you. He is your Alpha, so perhaps there was a misunderstanding.”

“No. He rejected me as his Luna. He claimed that he has never loved me and will never love me. He sounded angry at me, and I awoke wondering what I had done wrong to deserve such an outburst from him. I did nothing wrong, Tyler. No matter how much I think about it. I...”

“Did you just say that he rejected you?”

“Yes, he did. He had the same demeanor when he was angry with me the first time we met. When I looked into his eyes, I only saw hatred. Nothing makes sense, no matter how much I think about it. I need to know why he changed so dramatically in just a few minutes.”
