Chapter 47 : Did You Shoot Him?
Chapter 47: Did You Shoot Him?
Luciano
I grabbed a lot more books, I knew every book that had been on her bookshelf and I grabbed a few more I thought she would like. I grabbed a few for myself, Adriano put a few more books with questionable covers in the cart, smirking as he did. Abel just shook his head at us and grabbed a few books for himself. I didn't normally but books myself, the library still had books I was yet to read. But I wanted to get Sophie all of the books she had lost because of us.
I stopped in front of the counter, a small girl was on the other side, looking at the eighteen or something. I looked at the name tag, Mia. The name suited her because of her hair. Before long, the books were in the car and Adriano, Abel and I were speeding through the traffic to pick Sophie up. I stopped in front of the little cafe she loved so much, I had to admit, it was a nice cafe. I had wanted to buy it for quite some time but Susan, the old lady who owned it, never wanted to sell it. I liked to keep business clean so I didn't push as much as I could have. I entered the cafe with Adriano. She was standing behind the counter, handing coffee to some guy who thanked her with a way too bright smile and walked away. I felt my fingers twitched, fucking asshole.
But Sophie had not noticed, she was smiling at Adriano and me. I walked towards her.
“We are looking for a worker here.” I said to her.
“This tall,” I kept my hand on her head.
“Shy as fuck, beautiful eyes and black hair.”
“Beautiful smile.” Adriano added.
“And happens to love cooking, do you know her?” She made a thinking face.
“No, try the next cafe.” I chuckled, pressing a kiss on her sweet as fuck lips.
“Hey, baby. Ready to go?” She nodded as Adriano pressed a kiss to her forehead.
“I just have to take the apron off and wash my hands and grab my bag. Five minutes.”
“Take as much time as you need, we are right here.” Adriano said. She smiled again and walked away to the backdoor.
I walked to the table and sat down, I looked around and there were five bodyguards here. I had spotted the other ten outside, too much protection perhaps but I didn't give a fuck. I looked at the counter, Susan was glaring daggers at Adriano as he ordered. He was smirking, probably to piss her off more. We had wanted to buy this cafe for so long, so she hated us for that. The second reason is we don't want to kill her, she was our grandmother's friend and well, killing old ladies was not fun. Adriano walked to the table with the coffee.
“Did Angelo find out anything?”
“You would know if you ever keep your phone.” I replied. He never carried his phone anywhere, it was a pain to contact the fucker sometimes. Even if he was against phones.
“Just tell me.”
“We don't know where Sarah is?” I said.
“She is not at her apartment, there was nothing out of the ordinary at her apartment except an alarming amount of booze.”
“She is in the clear?” I nodded my head.
“Her parents are dead, killed by some local gang and her whole file is there but…”
“But?” He asked impatiently.
“Her file is too clean.” I said.
“Too perfect, not even a speeding ticket. Everything is there, you would expect some bad things from someone who drives a motorcycle like that.” He drummed his fingers on the table.
“We need more about her.”
Sure, we will do that. Sophie walked out of the backroom, she hugged Susan goodbye and got out from behind the counter by getting on it and sliding to the other side. She walked towards us, we stood up and grabbed her hand. We walked out of the cafe. We got inside the car, Abel was driving. Adriano sat in the passenger seat and I was sitting in the back seat with Sophie. She winced when she sat down, glaring daggers at Adriano and me. Abel pretended not to notice as he turned on the car engine. I pulled her on my lap, tucking her to my chest.
“How was work?” I asked.
“It was good,” she replied. I pressed kisses on her lips.
“Sarah came to visit me but she looked tired.” She sighed.
“They overworked her at her job.” she added.
“Where does she work?”
She told us while I pressed kisses to her jaw. She was good enough to eat, people don't get suspicious when you ask them questions while doing something else. I didn't like tricking Sophie, that was reserved for bed but we needed to get some information out of her.
“I ate five cupcakes today.” I chuckled.
“Did you?” she hummed, closing her eyes.
“I am going to get fat.” She muttered.
“Probably,” I said. She would get a fatter ass and that would be more sexy. She opened her eyes.
“You won't mind?” She asked.
“We will just have more of you to hold.” I replied and she smiled. I kissed that smile.

Adriano POV.
“Tim?” I said.
“Where the fuck is he?’
It has been a week and Tim looked at me and then my brothers, his expression neutral. Tim was a man of patience and one of the best men in the Mafia. He had been the head of Sophie's security but he had failed to keep her safe from the fire and now Raphael was supposed to be his redemption and he was failing. I put my elbow on the desk, we were in my office and it was identical to the one at the headquarters.
“Well?”
I didn't have patience, I needed to kill the fucking Ridoam Taghi as soon as possible. Sophie was in danger as long as they breathed.
“He is in Ghana.” He said and pulled the neck of his suit down. There was a bandage there.
“He shot me and got away.”
“What area?” Luciano asked.”
“Accra.”
“What happened?”
“I recognized him.” Tim said.
“A stance like that could only belong to a mafia man and I thought he was one of ours but he didn't have the tattoo on his wrist. I knew he was a Ridoam Taghi and then his tattoos were hidden. I followed him and he led me to an ally and shot me.”
“Did you shoot him?” I asked.
“Yes, on the shoulder.” I looked down at the time . I had to leave.
“I want a file.” I said.
“All the details, all the fucking thing ls better be there, Tim.”
I stood up and walked out of the office. I could hear him following me.
“Why aren't you killing me?” Tim asked.
“I failed you twice.”
“You are blood.” I replied, descending the staircase of the porch and walking to the garage.
