Chapter 46 : I Will Make Her Read It
Chapter 46: I Will Make Her Read It
Angelo
Sophie walked out of the bathroom, a towel wrapped around her body. She looked at me and her eyes narrowed. I chuckled, she did not know how to not be a brat.
“What is wrong, princess?” I asked.
“Nothing.” She blushed.
I rolled my eyes, I knew her ass was hurting her and had barely let us put a shirt on her. I supposed the orgasm wasn't much for her little body. She was pouting all through the aftercare, moving those gorgeous hips of hers. It had been inviting, I couldn't lie and I wanted to make her cum over and over again but she was a masochist and she enjoyed pain.
“Come here.” I commanded.
She walked towards me, good to know she was not acting fully by a brat and I picked her. She sat on my lap in a way that her ass didn't hurt me much and she still whimpered, hiding her face in my neck. I know she was blushing and I took off the towel.
“Angelo..”
I laid her down on the bed and looked at her ass. It was red and purple, I could see faint straight lines here and there. I laid down beside her and pulled her to my chest and I pulled up the cover on us, keeping her tucked to my chest. We had spent the night together and she slept on Luciano with Adriano and me on either side of her. My brothers and I had not slept and the last thing we wanted was her to hear us having nightmares.
“I need to ask you some things about the fire, princess.” She froze.
I sighed, putting her aside and tipped her chin up so that she was looking at me. There was fear in her eyes, she hated thinking about the fire but we had put this off for too long.
“Do you remember anything out of the ordinary before the fire?” She shook her head.
“Everything was normal, I came back from shopping, changed my clothes and slept.”
“Did you take off your rings at any point?” she shook her head again.
“No, they were in my fingers and I didn't feel anyone taking them off.”
But someone did take them off, someone was in her apartment that night. Someone who had access to the keys because no way in hell could a couple anyone have broken down the door and manage not to wake her up. Someone is with the keys. It could not have been locked because of the type of lock on the door. I didn't voice my thoughts.
“What about the man who followed you, what do you remember about him?” She looked relieved, she really hated to think of the fire.
“I just remembered him being familiar.”
I knew that I had gotten the file from the police but we needed something which the police didn't have if we were to catch this guy. Maybe he was connected to the Ridoam Taghi. There was a good chance that he was.
“Is there anything you forget to tell the police?”
“No,” her eyes widened.
“The day I didn't pick up your calls and you came to the house, did you remember where my bookshelf was?” I frowned at her question.
“Yes, it was against the wall beside your window.” She was frozen in my arms.
“I had pushed it against the window the previous night.”
And it had been moved from there, I knew that and I had looked at the books she had. I rubbed her back, she slowly melted into me.
“I will find out what happened.”
We would try to find out what happened, cameras and bodyguards had not been there before that day and it would be hard to find out. Or it can be something else.
________
Sophie POV
“I miss you.” I squealed.
“You mean you missed my cupcakes.” Susan said, giving money back to one of the customers. I took a bite of the cupcake.
“Yes,” she chuckled.
“Good to have you back, Sophie. You want to talk about the handsome man who dropped you here in a Bugatti?”
Luciano had dropped me and given me a very public kiss in front of everyone when leaving. I nibbled at its bottom lip.
“Not entirely.” She chuckled.
“Alright.”
We worked quietly and then I couldn't stop thinking about how the heck I didn't notice any bookshelf had been moved. It was not a big shelf and it didn't make much sound when it moved because of the carpet on the floor. And the door, had I accidentally left the door open? I had been tired but locking the door was a habit. Was it my ignorance that had gotten me and Luciano nearly killed? These thoughts were killing me. It was somehow my fault. Sarah came inside the cafe after an hour before my shift was to end. She smiled at me, she looked tired. Maybe her employees were overworking her again. She had decided to be a child and not sleep the whole night.
“Hey, Sophy.” I smiled.
“Hi, Sarah. What do you want to eat?” She looked at the showcase.
“Cherries?” I pointed at the chocolate pastry which had cherries on the top.
“This one?” She nodded her head.
“Hmm?”
“I..” she sighed.
“Don't you think you should have taken more time off?” I frowned.
“No, I would have gone insane without the city.” She nodded.
“Be careful,” I said to her.
“Alright.”
She walked away to a table.
___________
Luciano POV
I grabbed another book from the shelf and put it in the cart.
“Which else?” Abel asked, he was walking beside me in the large bookstore. I ignored him and he sighed.
“You should have brought Sophie here with you. I am sure she remembers all the books she had.”
“There is a thing called, surpris.” Adriano said, picking up a book that had a half-naked woman with ropes tied on her wrist on it.
“I think she will like it.” He said and I shook my head. I couldn't imagine my little bunny reading something dirty. He threw the book in the cart anyway.
“I will make her read it.” He muttered. I smirked, that would be interesting.
“Stop torturing the poor girl.” Abel said, moving away to grab some novel. Abel was our enforcer and a great one at that.
“No,” I replied because torturing her and making her whine in frustration was too fucking addicting.
“What else?” He asked again.
“I need to go torture some people.” he added.
A woman who was walking by us decided to run away and I chuckled.
“Well, you couldn't get shit out of Evelyn.”
A man, that was all she knew, it was a man. He had threatened to kill her and her family and apparently he had a sniper ready to shoot at her family members. She was rotting in the woods with other corpses, famiglia before anyone, she took the oath, knowing what betrayal would cost. Her family members were next in line.
