Chapter 217 : Boyfriend?

Chapter 217 : Boyfriend?
Chapter 217: Boyfriend?

Jessica

We were in her closet, in her room. Nova, Zara and Monica lived in the guesthouse near the mansion. It was a few yards away from the mansion and from what I had gathered, Zara spent half of her time at the mansion with the Rizzos. She was silent, I leaned against the door frame, my feet hurt in the heels I was sweating.

“You know,” she said.

“If you marry them, you should wear something like this.” She added and I smiled.

“What?”

“You know, a white lehenga and mother would like that, wouldn't she?”

“I am not marrying them.” She smiled.

“I know, but you like them.”

I had not seen them since we arrived yesterday, I had spent time with my sisters and briefly talked to Monica who had looked all over like Sophie had and then gave me a brief hug.

“I do.”

“They kidnapped you.”

“My captor and my knight in shining armor.” I chuckled

“Your monsters and your princes.”

“Perhaps,” she let out a sigh.

“Chase turned out to be evil.” Nova said.

“I know,” I muttered.

“We weren't together for long, yet he managed to hide something this big from me.”

“Aren't mafia men good at that? Hiding?”

“I suppose they are.”

“I hope your monster kills him.” She muttered and I gulped.

He had killed Miss Rivera, someone who the Rizzos and Santoros loved deeply. He had hurt me, he had killed those guards, ruining their families and he had broken my trust. I sighed.

“Everything is over now.” I said.

Everything is over, Kane is going to give the Santoros their sister in exchange for his father. All would be well and all would be good. Yet, I had a bad feeling.

Logan POV

There were too many people here, lights were arranged all around and the whole front yard was glowing with lights of a million colours. Children ran around, laughing and eating, people talked in their dilate which meant I could understand shit. Jessica was talking with them and it was certainly hot. I sat at a round table, dressed in my suit, something which Sophie didn't approve of. I didn't have a problem with the traditional wear, certainly not when a certain someone looked too bad wearing it. I watched Jessica laugh with Nova and her cousin who I was told was Zoe. She looked beautiful, too beautiful.

Angelo was sitting beside me, he was deeded in a suit as well and his brothers. He looked at his front yard.

“Too many strangers.”

“Your wife seems to be thriving.”

He looked at Sophie who had just joined Nova, Jessica and Zoe. Sophie looked beautiful in her golden lehenga, Rizzo's could barely keep their eyes off her and I couldn't blame them. I was positive I had not looked away from Jessica since she came to mansion from the guesthouse looking like a fuckind angel. She looked over her shoulder, her dark eyes colliding with mine and there was a smile on her face. A kind of smile I had never seen before, I didn't regret taking her away from her father but I did regret not being good to her. She deserves it, especially after what had happened to her, she deserved a home she could feel safe in.

Then, her whole family deserved a home they could feel safe in. Rizzos had done a great job at that, Callan and I had fucked up. Her eyes were taken away from me, settling on Callan who was standing with Luciano and Adriano. They were probably again talking about security. She walked towards where we were sitting.

“My uncle wants to talk to you, Logan.” I looked at the man she was motioning to.

“Uncle?”

“Yes, he is my mother's third brother.” I frowned.

“How many siblings?”

“Ten, I believe.”

“Kudos to grandfather.”

Nova walked towards us while Jessica felt calm, Nova felt like a fucking volcano. Jessica made a face.

“Yes, whenever, will you meet him?” She asked. I shrugged, standing up.

“Of course, sweetheart.”

Anything for her, she grinned at me. Nova walked away and Zoe grabbed her hand, both of them sneaking glances at Troye who was standing stone face with Abel and Rizzo’s cousin. I took her hand in mine, we walked to the uncle, he had Jessica’s eyes and was as tall as much. His lanky form was covered in a tunic, his eyes were curious and accusing as he took me in. I wondered if killing someone today would land me in some serious trouble with Jessica and Sophie, probably.

“Logan, this is my uncle, Asher. Uncle, this is Logan Santoro, my…boyfriend.”

What, boyfriend?

“Boyfriend?” Her uncle asked lightly, shaking my hand. It was a good handshake.

“You are the one who has been keeping my niece too occupied to visit me?”

“I believe so.” I replied and he watched me.

“I know you, boy.”

“If you do, you wouldn't call me boy.” he smiled.

“Jessica, give us a moment.” He said.

“Don't order her.” I kissed her cheek.

“Give us a minute, sweetheart. I promise, I will be nice.” She was too tense and it was not like I was going to kill the man. Not here anyway, I would take him to the greenhouse if I had to. She searched my eyes.

“He is awesome.” She whispered.

“He helped me after my mother died.”

Now, I could kill him. I nodded and she smiled and walked away, instantly joined by some people. Originally, it was supposed to be a small party, but the guest list had grown somehow and now there were about fifty to seventy people here. Something I knew put Adriano and Angelo and Luciano on the edge.

“I know your reputation.” he said and I didn't say anything.

He looked at Jessica who was talking to her sister Zara.

“I used to be in the army.” He told me.

“I lost my job because of a very bad knee injury. I came here and stayed with them for just a while. Her mother was alive, I didn't have any family of my own, Jessica would always be there and she was young back then. She would take care of me, in every way she could which was not a lot as she was a child. But I knew back then that she was meant for great things because kindness like that, like the one she holds in her heart deserves to be rewarded.” He looked at me.

“You are not a reward for kindness, are you?”

I wasn't, I was no reward. I didn't say anything, I just sip my drink and he sighed.

“She would have thrived in the University.”

“Yes, she would have.” I muttered.

“She will join from next semester, she should send out an application. She has always wanted to be an intellectual.”

“If she wants, she will.” I replied. He looked surprised at that.

“That is good to hear, Mr. Santoro.”

“I know you care deeply about her.”

Tell her what to do one more time and I will injure the other knee. Have a good evening, Asher.”

I walked away, my eyes fell on Callan who was standing with Jessica. I stood behind her, caging her in easily and I kissed the back of her head as Callan kissed her lips. I looked back at her uncle, his eyes had widened with horror. I smirked.
