Chapter 15 : Something On Your Mind?
Chapter 15: Something On Your Mind?
Sophie
“You know you love me, Susan.” I said and she patted my shoulder.
“Keep dreaming.” I chuckled and she smiled, her wrinkles becoming prominent.
“Go home and get something to eat.” I looked around and there were many people here.
“Are you sure?” I asked, I was hungry as hell.
“But there are many people here.” She rolled her eyes.
“I have handled more people, sweetheart. Go eat something.” She gently pushed me to the door of the backroom.
I thanked her, something she grimaced at and walked inside the backroom. I took off my apron, put on my jacket and I grabbed my bag.
I got a burger from a nearby diner and ate it there alone, glaring at my phone. Maybe he didn't want me to go with them anymore and didn't know how to tell me that without sounding rude so he was ignoring me. That was something I would do. But, he could tell me, I wouldn't be mad. It wouldn't be the first time for someone to hurt me a little. My phone didn't ring all the way home, maybe they had gotten sick of me. They must now have a beautiful college girl as a friend. Maybe one of them had her on his lap right now. I frowned, unhappy at the thought and then unsettled because I was unhappy. I was an idiot. I was busy day-dreaming about them when they didn't have interest in me.
I stopped short when my eyes fell on the Jeep parked across the street in front of my apartment building and the Rizzo's leaning against it, dressed in casual clothes. Oh my fucking goodness, I smiled internally. Angelo made a ‘come here’ motion with his fingers. Before I could stop myself, I crossed the street and was standing before them. Adriano was in the middle and the other two were by his side. I looked at Adriano, unsure why my heart was suddenly beating so fast.
“I..I texted you.” I muttered. He grimaced, taking my hand and pressing a kiss to my palm.
“Sorry, darling. I have no idea where my phone was.” I blushed.
“W..why did you call me that?” They were all watching me with dark eyes.
“Darling?” Adriano asked, a smirk tilting up his lips.
“Friends don't call each other that.” I mumbled, feeling myself blushing more. Luciano cupped the side of my face, stepping closer.
“Friends don't blush this much for friends, do they?”
“I am sure they don't.” Angelo muttered, stepping closer as well.
“Why do you blush so much, princess?” He added. Adriano bent down, bringing his mouth closer to my ear.
“Something on your mind, darling?” He whispered.
“No!” I stepped back, knowing my blush was too prominent. They all smirked, looking happy with themselves and the reaction they were getting from me. My heart was beating so fast that I could hear it.
“What did you text me?” He asked after watching me squirm under their intense gaze for a few seconds.
I took out my phone and showed them. Judging by the way I was feeling, I knew if I had opened my mouth, I would have stuttered like an idiot. They read the message.
“Well, then.” Luciano smiled at me. He looked happy, they looked happy. They were happy because I said yes?
“We will pick you up in three hours.” Angelo said and Adriano winked at me.
“See you later, darling.”
I huffed in annoyance as my cheeks heated up once again and they all chuckled.
I looked at the boxes, laying on my bed in uttermost shock.
‘Wear this.’ That was what the tall scary guy that delivered the boxes said. There were three of them. I opened the largest one, and took out the dress. I looked at it, my inner fashionista was screaming and jumping up and down in excitement. This dress, it was too pretty.
It was a silky black dress with a long slit and a straight neckline, tiny straps and a deep back. The material felt so soft in my hands. There were white stones set up like show flakes along the edge of the dress, shimmering in the lights of my room. It was really a beautiful dress. It was a beautiful dress which looked too pretty. I sat down on the bed, inspecting the small stones along the edges, why did they look like diamonds? Could they be actually diamonds? Maybe they thought I would wear a bad dress and then make them look bad. They were powerful men, they could not be seen with a woman not wearing an expensive as fuck dress. I looked down at the dress again, should I wear it?
I felt exposed and a little good, the dress hugged me perfectly. The silver heels they had sent were covering my feet, under my dress, I was wearing lingerie, the only good one I had. It was black and beautiful, I did not normally wear lingerie but under this dress, I would have felt horrible wearing my granny panties and bra which did nothing for my breasts. Around my neck was a thin diamond necklace, a necklace they had sent. I had just worn it before I could overthink, I could bombard them with questions when they picked me up. Three hours were not enough for me to get ready but I was ready in just an hour because I was excited. I had straightened my hair, parting it in the middle and tucking one side behind my ear, showing the matching earrings they had sent too. I sat down on my bed. Gosh, what was I doing? My phone buzzed, catching my attention. It was from Sarah.
‘Have fun tonight, be careful. I love you.’
I frowned, I didn't get it. How was she not being protective anymore? It felt like she was hiding something.
‘I love you too.’ I texted her back.
I dropped my phone back on the night stand table. I stood up and went to the mirror, admiring myself.
“Damnit, I looked so pretty.”
