CHAPTER 15. A gift for the enemy isn't bad
Kitara had just returned to the palace after a long and tiring day filled with treacherous encounters and dangerous situations. Despite the harrowing experiences she had faced, she was determined to remain vigilant and cautious as she made her way to the servants' quarters. She knew that the world around her was full of deceit and treachery, and she could not afford to let her guard down for even a moment.
As she walked, Kitara's mind was consumed with thoughts of the evil that she had witnessed. She had encountered many wicked-minded people throughout the day, and she knew that she could not trust anyone. However, there was something inside her that kept suspecting the king alone. Even though she was not familiar with Alpha Mykel, she was certain that he was not entirely innocent in the matter at hand. Kitara knew that she had to be careful and tread lightly, for she did not want to be caught in the middle of a dangerous game.
Despite the overwhelming sense of danger that surrounded her, Kitara was grateful that she had taken the initiative to become friends with a captain. Casey's daughter had advised her to make as many allies as possible, even if they knew nothing of her mission. Kitara knew that having trustworthy friends would be crucial in her quest to uncover the truth and bring justice to those who deserved it.
As she approached the servants' quarters, Kitara took a deep breath and prepared herself for what lay ahead. She knew that her journey was far from over and that she would face many more challenges in the days to come. But with her wits about her and her newfound allies by her side, she was ready to take on whatever the world had in store for her.
Kitara finally made it to her small room, feeling exhausted and drained after a long day filled with trepidation and unease. She knew that she needed to rest and recharge, as the next day would be a crucial one for her. It was the day that she would take her first official step in getting closer to the king, as her planner had plotted. Kitara couldn't help but feel conflicted about the situation. On the one hand, getting close to the potential killer and destroyer of her joy was a source of sadness for her. However, on the other hand, the hope of getting her revenge was enough to keep her motivated and excited.
As she prepared to rest for the night, Kitara took off her dress and crawled into bed, hoping to find some peace and quiet in her slumber. However, she soon found that her dreams were anything but restful. As she drifted off into a deep sleep, tormenting images of her family flooded her mind once again, causing her to toss and turn in her sleep. Day by day, these images became more vivid and real, fueling Kitara's determination to get her revenge and bring justice to those who had wronged her.
Despite the turmoil and turmoil that she was experiencing, Kitara remained resolute in her mission. She knew that the road ahead would be long and difficult, but she was prepared to do whatever it takes to achieve her goal. With her mind set on revenge and her heart full of determination, Kitara drifted off into a restless sleep, ready to face whatever the next day had in store for her.
She woke up the next day covered in sweat; it usually rained like this, so she was used to it. Quickly dash to the servants' bathroom, which gives no room for privacy; they all have to bathe together at the same time while being naked. After taking her baths, she went back into her room and got dressed.
She then swung into her daily activities, first taking a long look at the picture of her only enemy, Alpha Mykel, and then, after several steering hours, resuming her usual job of cleaning. Once her shift is over, she heads to the training center and starts training with the guards.
She was already known as a regular at the training center. At the training center, the captain was waiting for her arrival. He looked at her with an expression of being concerned with her appearance as soon as he sighted her, and Kitara was quick to notice this.
She starts distributing the beef soup she had brought along with them, if there is one great thing she has learned from her mother's cooking ability. It is said that "a way to a man's heart is through his mouth." She had prepared the food so she would be able to gain the love of the warriors, which would surely help her win their hearts for herself.
"Wow, Kitara, you are such a darling and thoughtful girl," the trainers said, praising her. The captain moved forward to greet her, "We meet again, young lady," he said.
"Would you like to have a taste?" Kitara asked as she smiled at the captain and stretched the beef soup she had in her hand toward him. The captain took one of the beef soups with a smile on his face and had a taste. His countenance suddenly changed as if he had been struck by surprise, and his eyes widen as he took a glance at Kitara. "Don't you say you prepared this?" , how can this be so good—better than even what the guards feed on daily? "You are sure better at cooking than most royal cooks," he said.
Kitara beams with happiness; one thing she has also learned that will be useful for her mission is the display of emotions and not being as cold as she wanted to be. Being friendly and not being distant will make people want to be close with her.
"You should try and get into the royal kitchens and change your status as a cleaner; this is delicious," the captain said as he took another bite of the dish.
"Well, well, well. "What do we have here?" a familiar voice said from behind them.
