Chapter 136 Chapter 135

Chapter 136 Chapter 135
Evelyn.

The morning sun bathed the Alpha King's castle in a warm glow, casting a golden hue over the grand chambers. Today was the day of the long-awaited banquet, a celebration of triumph and newfound peace. I woke up to Kieran pressing kisses all over my face and jawline, his strong arms stroking my waist as he nuzzled me awake. I opened my eyes, blinking away the remnants of sleep as I turned to face him.

"Rise and shine, beautiful. Today is going to be long day." He murmured, pressing another kiss to my lips, I smiled, resting my head on his chest as I fought the sluggishness away from my body. "Good morning," he groaned, caressing my hair.

"Good morning." I whispered, yawning. "I don't want to get up from this bed. It's so cozy." I murmured, snuggling deeper into the covers. He gently pulled them away, revealing me once again. I wore a mock frown at that.

"Trying to back down now? Sorry, but I can't let that happen." Kieran said, getting out of the bed and carrying me along so he was setting me on my feet. "You have a long day ahead of you today. The faster you get started, the better."

"What about you?" I asked, gazing upon his beautiful face.

"I'll be taking care of other things that require my attention so I'll be leaving early." He explained. It was then I noticed he was almost dressed up. I must have overslept. I've been doing that a lot lately.

"Okay." I mumbled, pushing my lips out in a pout. Kieran chuckled and kissed me again, our lips performing a slow, sensual dance. Pulling away rather quickly, he rested his forehead on mine, gazing softly into my eyes.

"I have to go now. I'll see you once you're done dressing up." He muttered and I nodded.

"I love you." I whispered to him and he repeated it back to me, his voice solemn. He pressed a gentle kiss on the bridge of my nose before finishing wearing his clothes and placing on a robe. With one final glance in my direction, he walked out of the chambers, closing the door gently behind him.

I let out a sigh, instinctively reaching up a hand to caress my stomach. I looked down on my hardened belly, a small smile on my lips. The secret I had been carrying was becoming increasingly difficult to conceal. Yes, I was pregnant, a fact known only to me. Kieran was yet to know and I knew I couldn't keep it as a secret any longer. I couldn't wait to tell him.

The maids soon arrived and it was time to prepare for the banquet. While they attended to me, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. The elaborate process of bathing, massaging, and adorning me with luxurious clothes and jewels unfolded like a dream and I was spellbound throughout. They styled my hair in intricate patterns, weaving delicate flowers into the strands. When I gazed at myself in the mirror, I was stunned by the transformation.

Draped in the most exquisite gown, adorned with jewels that sparkled in the soft light, I looked nothing short of a queen. A true Luna Queen, as Kieran had often called me. The weight of the crown upon my head felt both literal and metaphorical. Today, I stood not as a slave to be ridiculed but as a celebrated figure, the mate of the Alpha King.

I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the secret within me. The swell of my stomach, a subtle sign of the life growing inside. It was a secret I could no longer keep, and today's celebration seemed like the perfect moment to reveal it to Kieran.

"You look magnificent, your majesty!" The maids complimented me as they stepped away to admire their work of art.

"Thanks, but you all are the real magicians." I said, smiling as I saw the flushed look on their faces. A knock came on the door and without waiting for us to reply, it swung open and Kieran walked, dressed up in his full regalia and looking mighty as ever. My heart began to race in excitement as my gaze fell on him but the maids bowed their heads instantly. He dismissed them, leaving just the two of us alone in the chambers.

Kieran's eyes widened as his gaze settled on me. The transformation had rendered me almost unrecognizable, and the surprise and awe in his eyes mirrored my own feelings. He approached, his presence commanding and reassuring.

"Wow," he breathed, his eyes sweeping over me. "You look breathtaking, Evelyn."

Thank you." I replied, a shy smile playing on my lips. "You're not so bad yourself. You look pretty magnificent." I said to him but he just shrugged, kissing me again.

"Are you ready?" He asked as he took my hands and I felt my heart skip a beat in my chest. I nodded, taking in a deep breath as I held his gaze.

"Ready as I'll ever be." I replied back.

Gripping my hands securely, he walked me out of the chambers, leading me towards the Banquet hall. The journey through the castle felt like a regal procession, every step accompanied by the whispers of courtiers who marveled at the radiant Luna Queen. Kieran's grip on my hand was both grounding and comforting, a connection that spoke of shared triumphs and challenges.

As we entered the Banquet hall, a wave of gasps and murmurs swept through the gathered crowd. Thousands of eyes turned towards us, and for a moment, the world seemed to pause. Kieran's grip on my hands tightened and with an impassive look on his face, he began to lead me through the crowd they had parted a way, all of them curtsying as we made our way towards the podium. I followed Kieran to the elevated podium where our seats awaited, the entire hall a symphony of celebration.
