Chapter 103 Chapter 102
Evelyn.
The afternoon rolled by and I could barely wait any longer. Getting into a dress that was suitable for an outing in the woods, I hurried through the palace grounds, getting to the edge of the forest where the Alpha king had informed me we would be meeting and waited for him with a bated breath, my heart beating excitedly in my chest.
In the heart of the dense forest, where the sunlight filtered through the leaves in golden streaks, I stood at the edge, anticipation bubbling within me. The afternoon was well underway, and the excitement of going on a run with the Alpha King coursed through my veins. I looked around, trying to find him out.
"Alpha king?" I called out, my voice dancing through the trees. Feeling bolder, I called out his name. "Kieran!" The leaves rustled in response, and for a moment, there was only the whisper of the wind. I repeated his name, the sound weaving through the woodland until, at last, I heard a rustle in the foliage.
Emerging from the shadows of the trees, the majestic form of the Alpha King's wolf appeared. My heart soared at the sight, my lips stretching to a huge smile and I rushed towards the magnificent creature, my friend. The sunlight cast dappled patterns on its fur, creating a mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow.
"Hey there, it's so nice to see you again" I greeted, my voice filled with warmth as I reached the wolf. It wagged its tail enthusiastically, a playful gleam in its eyes. I crouched down, and with a burst of joy, the wolf bounded towards me, showering me with affectionate licks. Laughter bubbled from my lips as I nuzzled into its soft fur, my hands gently stroking the majestic creature. To think this is the same Alpha king, made it all feel bizzare but I couldn't deny that I enjoyed the wolf's presence.
I continued to stroke it's fur, smiling genially at him. "I missed you. Did you miss me?" I whispered to it's nose, hearing it growl in response. A chuckle escaped my lips as I stared at it, my heart content. As the days go by, I keep finding more reasons to fall in love with this wolf and the human too. "I'm sorry for everything I did, I hope we can start all over again." I whispered as he listened attentively at me, boring into my eyes. I could only hope he felt my sincerity this time. After our playful interaction, a spark of adventure gleamed in its eyes, mirroring my own eagerness.
With a graceful movement, I climbed onto the wolf's back, the fur beneath my fingers offering comfort and stability. Together, we ventured into the heart of the forest. The wind whizzed past us as he ran, and I let out excited shrieks.
As we ran, the forest unfolded its beauty around us. The vibrant hues of green, the scent of pine, and the freedom that came with each stride filled me with a profound sense of joy. The bond between me and the Alpha King's wolf deepened with every beat of our synchronized movements.
Soon, our journey brought us to the riverside. The sound of flowing water greeted us as we slowed our pace. A sudden tension filled the air and I stiffened, my back prickling. The Alpha king's wolf stood straighter, his ears perking up. The subtle rustling of leaves hinted at the approach of an unwelcome presence.
A group of rogue wolves emerged from the shadows, their eyes gleaming with a mix of curiosity and aggression. I held on to the Alpha King wolf, my heart pounding in my chest as I watched the wolves encircle us, growling and snapping as they inched closer. The air crackled with an unspoken challenge, and the Alpha King's wolf, sensing the potential threat, moved with a calculated grace. With a slight nudge, the Alpha king wolf urged me to descend from it's back, poised and ready to fight.
With a low, menacing growl, the Alpha King's wolf positioned itself between me and the intruders. Its amber eyes glinted with a fierce protectiveness, a silent declaration that this territory was not to be encroached upon.
The rogues, undeterred by the warning, circled cautiously. The tension escalated, each heartbeat echoing in the charged atmosphere. Then, in a sudden blur of fur and fangs, the Alpha King's wolf lunged into action. I screamed and crouched to the ground, burying my face in my hands as I shut my eyes tight.
The forest erupted with the snarls and growls of the ensuing struggle. The Alpha King's wolf moved with a primal elegance, teeth flashing, and muscles rippling as it engaged the rogues. There was a symphony of ferocious sounds, a clash of wills echoing through the trees.
Running away from the scene before I unknowingly became a target, I stood at the edge, my eyes wide with a mix of awe and concern as I watched the Alpha King take on numerous wolves and kill them all.
The rogues, realizing the formidable opponent they faced, attempted to retreat. However, the Alpha King's wolf, driven by a relentless determination, pursued them with a swiftness that spoke of untamed power. He tackled each and everyone to the ground, snapping their necks and tearing off the limbs from their body. Though the sight was gory, I was unable to tear me eyes away from it.
Eventually, he emerged victorious, standing tall and proud, its fur slightly ruffled but its eyes gleaming with a victorious fire. The rogues, already dead, lay scattered on the ground, permeating the air with the metallic smell of blood. Without thinking, I rushed towards checking if there were any signs of wounds on its body.
Though it's fur was covered in blood, there was nothing like that. I let out a sigh of relief, smiling up at me even as there were tewrs in my eyes. "Thank goodness you're not hurt." I said and it let out a self-assured growl, as if trying to prove those measley wolves could do no harm to someone like him. I smiled, after all I've been a witness to some of his gallant fights in times past, it didn't mean I still won't be worried for it.
He lead me to the tranquil waters, after which it disappeared to catch a game. Giving it a smile of gratitude, I helped light a fire and prepared the game into the delicious roasted delicacy. Giving it it the bigger portion, I settled within it's fur, quietly eating mine while it munched his. . Afterwards, I resumed brushing it's fur, washing off the blood that had dried on it, bringing it back to it's pristine state. Satisfied, I broke into grin, admiring my work. The wolf also groaned in satisfaction, giving me a huge lick as it circled around me, making itself comfortable.
Slightly exhausted, I tried to catch a break, layinykm the wolf's body but unknowingly drifted off to sleep, guided by the soft lul of the forest and the assurance that nothing would happen while the wolf was here.
