Chapter 95

The doctor's words hung in the air like a challenge. Marcus's expression turned cold, his eyes narrowing as he processed the information. Maya's face, once filled with worry, now seemed to be cracking, her mask of concern slipping away.

"How could you not tell me?" Marcus's voice was low, his tone accusatory.

The doctor shook his head. "We only discovered it now, during the examination. But there's more. The mask isn't just any ordinary silicone mask. It's a high-quality, custom-made mask designed to perfectly mimic your facial features."

Marcus's eyes locked onto Maya, his gaze piercing. "I think it's time we got to the bottom of this."

Maya's eyes went wide with shock, and for a moment, it felt like she couldn't breathe, her entire body freezing in place. "That... that can't be true! Doctor!" she stammered, trying to regain her composure.

"Then what, Maya? Are you saying the doctor is lying?" Marcus asked, his voice cold and emotionless.

"Don't you see? The doctor is lying! How can my son be wearing a mask? It's impossible!" Maya exclaimed, her panic rising.

"Ma, the mask has been removed, and his true identity has been revealed. You can go check on him. He doesn't look like..."

"No, doctor, I can't believe that! My son can't be wearing a mask!"

"Let's conduct a DNA test to check Antonio's bloodline. There must be a reason behind the mask," the doctor suggested.

"Go ahead" Marcus muttered.

"But Marcus, do you really think the DNA test is necessary? It might cause further complications," Maya quickly interjected.

Marcus stared at Maya for a moment before responding. "Why are you so worried about the DNA test?" he asked slowly, his tone dangerously calm, sending shivers down Maya's spine.

"No... it's just that..."

"Is there something you're hiding from me?" he pressed, making Maya choke on her words.

"What?! Why would I be hiding anything?" she replied, feeling the tension rise.

"Good. Doctor, run the test and get me the results by tomorrow." With that, Marcus stood up and walked out of the doctor's office, leaving Maya on the verge of losing her mind.

Maya immediately got up and followed Marcus, while the doctor shook his head as they left the room.

Marcus strolled down the hallway with his expression unreadable . it left the everyone in confusion including.

Maya's eyes locked onto Marcus's back, her mind racing with panic. She quickened her pace to catch up to him. "Marcus, wait! What's going on? Why are you doing this?"

Marcus didn't slow down, his long strides keeping him ahead of Maya. "You know exactly why, Maya. Don't play dumb."

Anna watched the exchange, her eyes wide with curiosity. She fell into step beside Marcus, trying to keep up. "Marcus, what's happening? What's going on with Antonio?"

Marcus's expression remained unreadable, but his voice was cold. "You'll find out soon enough, Anna. Just wait for the DNA results."

Maya's face twisted in anger and fear. "This is all a setup! You're just trying to frame me!"

Marcus stopped abruptly, turning to face Maya. His eyes were like ice, his voice dripping with disdain. "You're the one who's been playing games, Maya. And now, it's time to face the consequences."

The tension between them was palpable, and Anna felt like she was witnessing something much deeper than a simple argument. What secrets lay hidden beneath the surface, waiting to be uncovered?

As they reached the hospital room where Antonio was being treated, Maya's anxiety spiked. Would the truth finally come to light?

They entered the hospital room, Antonio lay in bed, his face uncovered. The room fell silent as everyone gazed at Antonio's real appearance. Maya's expression was the only one that didn't change, her eyes fixed on Antonio with a mixture of guilt and fear.

Anna's eyes widened in shock, her mouth hanging open. “i think this is the wrong hospital ward.“ Anna said in confusion.

“Miss this is Antonio, this is his real face. The face you used to see is a silicone mask that had been made to be a replica of Mr Marino.“

"Oh my god...," she whispered still trying to comprehend what she just heard. She turned to look at marcus but he had a blank expression which made what the doctor said was true.

Marcus's stared, his eyes scanning Antonio's features. "Whose child is it?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Maya's eyes darted between Marcus and Antonio, her panic rising. She knew she had to keep up the charade, but it was getting harder by the minute.

The doctor stepped forward, his expression somber. "Let's wait for the DNA results before we jump to conclusions.

“Was i speaking to you, it seems you don't know your job.“ Marcus said in an angry tone.

“I'm sorry Mr Marino.“ the doctor responded with a scared expression.

“You better be.“ Marcus replied this time facing Maya.

Maya's face contorted in a mixture of fear and desperation. "Okay, fine. I'll tell you everything," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Marcus's eyes narrowed, his expression intense. "Go on."

Maya took a deep breath, her words spilling out in a rush. "Antonio was never your child, Marcus. I... I lied about his parentage to get you love back."

The room fell silent, with only Maya's ragged breathing breaking the stillness. Marcus's face was a mask of anger and disgust.

"You used a child as a prop in your twisted game," Marcus said, his voice cold and detached. " You're a monster, Maya."

“Yes I'm a monster, so what? I know i was wrong to leave you in the first place but i came back to win you love back, but this useless bitch keeps getting in my way
