Daemon's Desires

Daemon was getting fooled by their lies. He was starting to believe their praises for him and their accusations against Alorea.

"This is not true. I would never leave my people behind no matter what." Alorea declared with much confidence. But no one would listen, and if anyone did listen, that person was not Daemon.

He caressed the box with his eyes first. Then he stumbled towards Clingy to have a feel with his touch. He stared with so much desire, so much greed. The evil in his heart grinned at the sight of such power. Never before had he looked so happy and fulfilled.

"You!" Demeatris said from the back, staring straight at Clingy. "Nathan of the rising sun!"

The look of shock was evident on Alorea's face as she heard those words. What was the vampire saying? Did this mean that Clingy was Nathan?

Clingy did not act as though the vampire was referring to him, and this made Demeatris annoyed.

He stormed forward to have him under the threat of his claws.

"I am talking to you, slave boy! Nathan, bastard of the rising sun pack!"

The tension grew as this unknown man threatened the life of Shereena's servant. She did not like it.

"Who are you to dare lay your finger on him?! You are only my father's guest, and you have no right!"

But Demeatris only ignored her, pressing further on Clingy's neck, assured he was the enemy.

"Father! Do something!!" She turned to her father who was still busy falling in love with the claws in the box.

When Shereena drew him out of his fantasy, he got really upset.

"Demeatris, what is this?"

"This is the boy I told you about. The one who would destroy everything you have built."

"This is a lowly servant..."

"I did tell you that he would be a servant first."

"He is lying, father. Can he even prove that?"

Alorea stood at a side, confused and suprised. Whatever was going on, it was pointing fingers at Clingy. Could he be the Nathan she knew in the future?

"Your Majesty, Prince Scorpio wants to see you". An announcement came from outside.

"Good... Prince Scorpio will tell everyone here your real identity. Your real name, and I will tell everyone what your dark destiny is all about." Demeatris said with much joy, anticipating the entry of the prince of the rising sun pack.

"Let him in." Daemon urged, before returning his attention to the box of claws.

As the door opened, Scorpio stormed in with much unawareness about whatever was going on in there.

"Welcome, prince Scorpio." Daemon said, not even raising his gaze to take a look at the prince. "Need I say that you could not have come at a better time than this. We were just craving for your attention."

Scorpio looked around with suspicion riddling his face. The scene was not a peaceful one, and he could catch the scent of threats all around him.

"What is the problem here...?"

"This friend of mine believes that your servant has another identity hidden from me and that you know about this other identity."

Scorpio still looked at a loss. "Clingy?"

"He says his name is Nathan. Are you aware of that?"

Scorpio did not look like a bell was rang in his brain. He just remained the same, confused and taken aback. "There is nobody with such name in my memory. Not ever."

Demeatris glared with shock in his eyes. How was this possible? Scorpio did know what Clingy's real name was, how could he say otherwise...?

"Think, Prince Scorpio! You were the one who gave him his new name! How can you deny that?"

"I do not know what you are talking about..."

"You have been exposed as a liar. Now, put him down." Shereena lodged in with ease.

"You heard my daughter, Demeatris. Put the servant down, he earned my favour when he came to me with these claws. You cannot decide if he lives or dies."

Demeatris, still in shock from Scorpio's words, had no choice but to let go of Clingy's neck. He knew something was wrong with prince Scorpio, he was not the same.

Alorea had now cleared her doubts about Clingy. If Scorpio denied him as Nathan, then she could be assured that he was not him.

"Alpha Daemon..." Demeatris continued. "Be careful what you wish for with those claws. I know what I am saying. This must be the plan to get you to loosen your guard. You must not let that happen..."

"Enough already, vampire!" Daemon had his eyes glowed in red and desires. "I have had enough of your prophetic nonsenses. Nothing will happen to me, not by the hands of a servant. As for you, I should be wary of you."

"Think twice, Daemon. That box might be your nemesis."

Daemon's eyes went cold with anger. He hated when anyone threatened him or referred to him by his first name for that matter.

"Out of my palace, vampire. Before I test my new powers on you."

Demeatris turned his back to the scene and moved away slowly. Alorea watched as he exited the palace and released a breathe of relief. But it was not over yet, at least for her.

"What about my comrades, your majesty? You have the box that you wanted, are you not going to release my men so we can return home?"

"Men? You have no men with me." Daemon smirked with evil. "They are all dead, except the old one who seems to know everything. He was supposed to die tonight. But with the happiness I feel now, I can decide to spare him his life."

Alorea stepped back in astonishment. Was this true?

"My father killed your people for each night you were absent. He was going to execute Baldwin today, the last prisoner."

"This... How could you do this..."

"You better be glad I am sparing you, princess. You failed to keep to the time of your promise, and you even conceived a thought of absconding with my property. It is too merciful that I will let you live."

The door opened and old Baldwin was accompanied into the palace by some guards. When he saw Alorea, he shook his head in grief and disappointment.

"You can leave now, princess Alorea. Leave with your wise man. My men will help you out of the kingdom. And let this be the last time I see your face again."

The chains around Baldwin's hands and legs were released away from his body. He could not believe that he was about to face freedom. At the same time, the pain of what he had lost was written in his eyes.

Alorea walked up to him, her eyes watering from pain and anguish. She knew she had failed. She had failed to rescue her people who were trapped behind this palace wall. On top of that, she had delivered the most powerful weapon she had ever seen to the most evil man she had ever seen. That was another failure. And now she had to go, leaving the faith of the world dangling without balance.
