Lies and Liars
Alorea shook with astonishment as the lycan king, Demeatris stood in front of her. He was the same man who captured her five years later. The same man who oversaw the attack on Nathan and almost led to his death.
What was he doing here in the palace of giant werewolves? Was he in cahoots with Daemon? How did he even see her when she had the claw which made her invisible with her? Also, why was he looking at her like that? They had not met yet in this reality, how did he know her name?
Why in the world did it feel like he knew about the future and what she would cost him?
"You must be surprised to see me... So am I of you..." He glared down with evil, his gaze perusing her body with intents.
"What are you doing here?" She gutted back at him, sounding fierce and confident.
Now it all made sense. The old man whom she saw with Frey, the scarred leader of the giant wolves was one of Demeatris's vampire subjects. That meant that the vampire kingdom had been working in secret with Daemon. No wonder he was so keen to go to war.
"Keep your voice down, princess. You are still a wanted woman. All I need to do is say a word, and you will be in chains before you know it. Chains are something you are much familiar with anyway." He breathed again with an evil scent, boiling the blood running in Alorea's veins.
"I should also be grateful to you, princess. You turned back time for me. If you had not done that, I would be dead and forgotten. But thanks to you, I can change that future. I can end that Nathan before he grows out of his nest."
Alorea found herself raging for those words he said. It was the same way he felt when he discovered Scorpio's betrayal in the future. She could feel herself getting angry at this man for threatening Nathan's life even though she thought she hated him for what he would do in the future.
Speaking of which she had no clue who Nathan was right now, or where he lived. With the way Demeatris spoke, he seemed to have an idea.
"Do you know where he is?" She asked, curious.
"Of course, I think I do." Demeatris responded, wearing the same evil smile on his face. "Infact, I believe you do too."
She did not. And she had no idea what he was talking about.
"I don't."
"You do, princess. You just do not want to believe it." He winked at her, his blood red eyes reminiscing the stare of the devil.
What he said was similar to what the human wizard had said to her. Alorea found herself swimming in confusion. All the hands were pointing at him; Clingy. But there was no true evidence that he was Nathan. And it made no sense as he looked completely different from the Nathan whom she knew.
The door opened from somewhere. And in came the owner of the place there were standing.
"Princess Alorea?" Daemon breathed in a somewhat surprised tone. "You have some guts coming here..."
"I have a message for you, alpha Daemon!"
She stormed forward towards him but almost immediately, the doors opened and the soldiers got hold of her.
"A message for me? I sent you on a mission, you never fulfilled it. I don't need to listen to your message, you must only do as I please."
Alorea struggled with the guards holding and restraining her.
"This is important! It is about you!!"
But Daemon was not ready to listen to anything of that nature. "Where is the box? Where are the claws you promised me?"
"The claws of power are in this palace itself! All of them!!" She screamed, and this time she was able to get his attention.
Daemon raised his hand in the air, signalling to his men to let her go.
Demeatris's attention was also captured. He was on his way out before, happy to have orchestrated her downfall. But the moment he heard her words, he turned around.
Being a vampire who had lived for centuries and ages, It had been a long while since Demeatris ever saw the power of the five claws used together. He could not believe his ears now.
"So where are they?" Daemon yelled, losing patience. One could see his dark heart craving for the power of those claws. What he could do with them. How he would use them to take over the world. All of his thoughts were printed on his face, clearly.
"Your daughter, Shereena!" Alorea breathed, ready to see how Daemon would react to the betrayal of his daughter.
"What did you say?"
"Your daughter sent her spy with me just so she could steal the claws from me. So she could steal them for you. So she could have all the power to herself."
Daemon would not believe. "She dare not!"
"Well, you underestimate her. How little do you know about your owm daughter? By now, she must be plotting your downfall and how to kick you off your throne!!"
Daemon let out a fiery growl which shook the entire palace. His entire body was covered in wolf hair immediately. His eyes blood red, his claws as long and sharp as knives, his growl triggered fear and submission from everyone present. Everyone except Demeatris who kept his stare on Alorea, trying to put apart her true words from her lies.
"Find Shereena!" Daemon commanded his men. And they took to their heels almost immediately to deliver the order. But there was no need.
"I am here." The voice of his daughter responded, it turned out she was already on her way to the palace.
Behind her was none other than Clingy, standing as her most trusted servant. And right in her hands was the box of claws which they had gone through so much for. She walked slowly towards the throne where her father sat, a smiling expression on her face.
"I heard all what has been said against me, but I will take no offence. Because I know my father will not believe the words of a failure who claims to be a princess."
"Why do you have that?" Daemon demanded, knowing fully well that the box in his daughter's palms was none other than the claws of power which he desired.
"For a good reason, father. And for you."
"Lies... You stole it from me just so you can have it for yourself..."
"I took it from you before you could run away with it." Shereena kept her shut, nodding Clingy forward to say something.
"We found the box together." He began, talking about Alorea. "Then she said something unbelievable. 'I do not want to give these claws to Daemon anymore'. She was thinking of running away with it. Back to her kingdom so the power of the claw would belong to her family."
"I have to say I am a bit ashamed, Alorea." Shereena added. "After all the brave speech, who knew you could consider leaving behind your people because of power?"
"Lie! Liars!!" Alorea was strong in her claim, but Daemon would not believe that. All he saw was the box of claws. Right in the hands of Shereena. It was all he wanted. It was all he cared about.
Meanwhile, standing behind the entire crowd in the palace and staring convincingly at Clingy, Demeatris was conceiving a different thought.
