"But ....." I started to say something, but he cut me off.
"You said to wait for Alaska and Jennifer. Well, they are in the van. We do this as family, you said. It is time.
I went down to the van and got in. Mom was watching the baby.
I really did not want to do this, but my excuses had run out. We drove up the mountain to what used to be our home. I stood there with tears in my eyes. There was nothing left. Everything was burnt black as night. I could not look at it anymore. I turned
Away twenty-seven years of our lives was gone.
"Emma, Emma." Razer yelled, running over to where we all stood. I tried to wipe away my tears.
"I have some things for you, hand on while i grab them." He went into the rubble and came out with two boxes.
"We are still looking, I'm sure we will find more." He said as he passed Ben the boxes.
Ben sat them down, and I opened the first box.
"The covers are all burnt, but look inside, Emma!" Razer said, all excited. I picked up one of the books and opened it. I could not believe my eyes. I started pulling out the other books, and they were the same way. I put them back in the box and hugged Razer.
"Thank you." I said, smiling.
"These mean everything to me." I touched the box, making sure it was real.
"Hey, Razer, when can we start looking through this mess?" Orson asked.
"Day after tomorrow, Orson, we still have some stuff to secure." He said l looked at my son.
"Why do you want to go in there, Orson?" I asked.
"Think of it as a treasure hunt." I did not say anything. I know they lost a lot of thing in the fire, too.
"Oh Boss, the plans for the new house came yesterday. I will bring them down to you." Razer said and ran off.
"New house, Ben?" He just smiled.
"Boy, put these boxes in the van, and let's go back to Papa's. Your mother has to finish planning the mating ceremony.
ALASKA'S POV
I was so nervous. I was not even this nervous when I took the bar. Mom helped me cut my hair into a mohawk. I thought it looked pretty cool, but once we started the law firm, it would not be appropriate for business.
"Alaska, what is taking you so long?" Mom asked. I turned to her and showed her my tie.
"Come here," she said and had my tie done in two minutes.
"Love?" Dad said. Holding up his tie. Mom laughed and did his tie.
"Ok, come on, you should be downstairs already."
I went and stood where Orson was waiting he was standing up for me.
The officiant waved to the guards at the door. The doors opened, and Jennifer walked in on her mother's arm. Tears ran down my face she was so beautiful in her beautiful white dress that fit her body like a glove, then flared out at knees and had a long train. Her mother gave me her hands, and I looked deeply into her eyes. I don't even remember the words they spoke. Everyone was cheering and clapping. I kissed Jennifer. Then, I scooped her up into my arms and took her upstairs, everyone cheering. Jennifer and I spent hours exploring each other and enjoying our first time. I marked her, and this made her cry. I became afraid I had done something wrong. When I looked at her face, she was crying but smiling. Then she pushed me down and eventually marked me. We fell asleep in each others arms. The next morning, I got a lot of teasing from my brothers because we did not return to the party to celebrate our marking. But Jennifer and I were happy more than either of us had been in a long time.
SIR HENRY'S POV
It was a couple of hours, and to my surprise, people actually stated coming by asking if I was the man who was looking for some help.
These guys looked in pretty good shape. Each had their own story why they were rogue. I found it very intriguing how the difference packs were run. I don't ever remember living in a pack my whole life. Dad left, and then Drew left. Leaving me with mom. Drew would come by five or six times a year. As I got older, he would take me to places in the big city. Ah, those were my younger days.
"Excuse me, are you the man looking for some shall we say special help?" A woman asked.
"Yes, but I'm looking for men who can fight and not afraid to die." I told her.
"Oh, so you think women can't fight. Suppose you think we belong on our backs too." She said, leaning on the tent pole.
"Something like that." I said. Didn't she move so fast her hands were around my throat.
"Men like you is what makes us women better fighters asshole, shove your job better hope you don't come across me on the battle field. A man walked in the tent and started to laugh.
"Darlene, let the asshole go," she dropped me to the ground. The man came over and gave me a hand up.
"Name is old Joe. I hear you been looking for some weight. You got a beef with someone who needs to be taken care of well. I just might be able to help you."
"How do you know her?" I asked, rubbing my throat.
"Darlene here? We have crossed paths a few times. Thank the Goddess we were on the same side she can fight just as good as any man I have seen."
"You know Joe, ever want to go one on one the offer still stands." Darlene said.
"I think I will keep my nuts if it is all the same to you." Old Joe laughed at her.
"Ok, you're both hired. Keep her away from me." I said.
I noticed I was getting a gathering outside it was making me nervous. I looked at Old Joe he looked fit enough.
"Hey Joe, I need some help around here with all these people showing up. Do you think you and Darlene could help me with that?"
"What do you think, Darlene,"
"I don't know he is a pig. I was thinking of walking."
"Ah, come on I not seen you for months. we got some catching up to do."
"Well, I could use the money. Supplies are getting low."
"Wonderful, wonderful go out there and weed them out. I want only the best fighter."
"You better be paying us good," Darlene said as she walked out.
I put the kettle on the fire to heat up some water for tea and pulled out my phone to call Mat. I got no answer.
By the second day, I had a bunch of loud and obnoxious rouges. Joe said the count was about one hundred. I told him to cut it off there.
