Back to the lake

Back to the lake
The wind crashed against my face and it was hard for me to keep track of our surroundings. Everything was moving too fast but I didn't complain, it felt kinda similar to the countless thoughts running through my head.

I believe that we passed the withered farm and dead town, my heart quickened when I felt Vale slow down. The other werewolves followed his lead, once my head cleared I saw the forest that we entered the last time. It was a bit further away but we were also nearing it, unlike the last time when it had a few monsters who ignored us and were heading towards the lake, this time it was different.

Countless Swift glooms filled the forest, they were unmoving standing there as though they were guarding something. The clouds above the forest especially further where the lake is were the darkest clouds I've ever seen in my life. My guess is that the lake guardian, the monsters are acting like the lake guardian's minions. Still I suspect that something is happening in that poisonous lake. It seems that in order to find out we'll have to go through all these swift glooms. Their towering humanoid figures and elongated arms didn't scare me like the first time I saw them.

We neared the forest and it was clear that the Swift glooms wanted nothing more than to pounce on us. The countless eyes on their faces and the eerie grins indicated that they wanted to tear us all apart yet they held back. Still the fact that they were pouncing on us didn't mean that they would let us through. I just know that as soon as we step inside the forest they'll move.

Roseanne was already in the air and I had already left Vale's back. Roseanne fired a big arrow of light and I followed her by closing my eyes, seventy wind blades appeared and they swiftly shot toward the swift glooms. Thirty earth spikes and three boulders rose from the ground and I sent them towards the monsters near the edge of the forest. All my attacks managed to damage their front while Roseanne's arrow exploded in the middle killing many. That managed to make them forget whatever command they were given, they shot forward with their ear piercing roars. Vale responded with his own growl and he together with the werewolves also shot forward.

The clash was something both frightening and amazing to witness, the werewolves though few fought fearlessly. The swift gloom were fast, flexible and their eerie laugh echoed all across the battle. I poured the invisibility potion on me and didn't dare to waste time. My plan was to help the werewolves not waste too much energy and finish the swift glooms fast. We still have a mighty lake guardian to face, I don't even think we have a plan. And those werewolves that were sent by the Crimson lake are no help at all.

While the swift glooms were focused on the werewolves, water needles would pierce their heads causing them to fall moments after. Earth spikes pierced their legs and feet leaving them open for the werewolves to take advantage. Boulders crushed some of them, big sharp wind blades separated their heads from their bodies. A water whip would intervene when a swift gloom is about to land a deadly blow to a werewolf.

What was amazing is that I'm doing all this and I haven't taken any energy potion, I'm about to run out but still, I can see the improvement. It's also unbelievable how in just ten minutes I have inflicted so much damage on their side. I could maybe say that I'm now close to Roseanne's level of control and endurance or stamina. She was also flying all over the place firing at many swift gloom's backs.

I used an energy potion for the first time and poured the invisibility potion on me for the second time. Many swift glooms bodies littered the ground and the ground was starting to get mudy because their blood. I was happy that I have yet to see a dead werewolve's body, we've already killed many of them but the swift glooms that were left still outnumbered the werewolves.

I was amidst the battles doing as much damage as I can on swift glooms, what happened the last time didn't scare me. Even if the invisibility potion would run out mid battle, what happened the last time won't happen again. I'm too clear minded and I'm starting to feel more and sense more while using the elements. I'm sure it has something to do with the book. Today I am about to find out if I'm truly what the book says I am. I have Mix emotions about it, it'll be nice to finally know and confirm what I am but at the same time I'm scared of the burden that comes with being a Namig.

My eyes finally saw Vale in a heated battle against four swift glooms while three were jumping and circling their battle ready to strike when seeing an opening. His silver fur was soaked with their blood and those eyes even in their werewolf form didn't loose their usual coldness. He didn't look shaken at all by the unfair number against him.

He was too far away but still I can just focus on helping him while there are swift glooms all around me. I cannot let what happened the last time repeat, of course that does not mean I'm not gonna go help Vale. I'll just have to kill my way towards him, I kind of hate how normal that currently sounds to me right now.

Two swift glooms were about to run over me, they were rushing towards a red werewolf who had just killed... I don't know their friend? . I was invisible so they didn't even that they were about to run over me.
I controlled the earth to raise an earth wall that I was sure they would break but it'll hinder them a little. I was able to move aside quickly, even after seeing a wall appear in front of them they were still set on reaching the werewolf. Their run was cut short as I managed to slice their legs with a big wind blades. A big Boulder quickly fell on them afterwards ending their lives.

Water needles pierced another swift gloom's head, some I'd leave them just injured because there were too many. I was also paying attention to Vale and when I saw that I'm taking too long he will end up getting hurt soon. I controlled the wind to blow a big gust of wind that pushed many swift glooms back. Roseanne took advantage of that and fired a big arrow towards the swift glooms that were down.
