Werewolves from the Crimson pack
Werewolves from the Crimson pack
"ahem Miss Era?, Miss Era!? Are you there?... Era!!"
"ahhh! err... Yes Sorry Gloria what did you say just now?"
Ah poor girl having to deal with a busy head like myself must be annoying for her. " I'm about to leave so I was wondering if there was anything else you'd like me to do for you" she's so sweet, I even sense hesitation from her it's obvious that she's worried about me and she wants to ask if I'm okay. " no it's okay you can leave and I'm fine so go I'll see you tomorrow" I said that while displaying my widest fake smile and she nodded convinced that I was okay.
It's 6:30 right now and I hear that Vale left hours ago and this time he didn't tell Gloria where he was going but thats not too important right now. I woke up too early today not on purpose. I admit that I had planned to wake up early but the short dream I had made me not wish to close my eyes again.
At first it was the embarrassing chin situation that happened yesterday but then I suddenly saw my hands holding what I think was yesterday's book and I was flipping the pages non stop. The confusing part was that all around me was nothing but darkness, it wasn't only that, screams of agony echoed loudly. They made my heart clench and desperation kept pouring on me hence I was flipping the pages. Fear was creeping together with the darkness and when it felt like the darkness was going to swallow me and make me one with the screams I woke up.
Minutes passed and I could still hear the screams and they still made my heart beat painfully. I cannot ignore a dream like that and even though I cannot say I fully understand its message, the rapid flipping of the pages made me understand that I need to hurry. So yeah right now I should be hurrying down to the basement but I'm honestly afraid of what I might find if i search deeper into the book. The darkness and the screams... What if I find something in that book that'll make them a reality. Not to mention that no one is here, Vale isn't here and I don't know what may happen.
I also feel like laughing right now cause really look at how scared I am of the darkness. I remember very well that I used to prefer it and it's embrace, it once comforted me and I used to praise it. Well let's be honest, compared to that hypocrite of a queen the darkness wasn't so bad or maybe I didn't know much about the darkness back then and only appreciated the absence of light. I mean look at what the darkness did to nature, to innocent animals and look at its army. It certainly does not look comforting.
The sad truth and reality is I can't spend all day being afraid of some book, time is running out so I don't have the luxury to hesitate. I have to continue reading the Namig book.
so I got up and went down to the basement.
Elements, as interesting as they are I don't think I'll be able to master them within less than a week and I even doubt that brute force will work on that mighty lake guardian. I'll have to skip them for now and so I started flipping through the pages almost like I did in the dream and I stopped only when my fingers touched what felt like sand or ground maybe. I know it sounds crazy and unbelievable but what was even more crazy was what I was seeing with my own eyes. This page that I've touched was no longer green and it no longer felt like a leaf. It was an earthly brown color and it felt like earth, the ground... In fact it looked like I - I just really don't know how to explain it really.
There were those symbols again that I could somehow understand and as I began to read and understand their meaning I couldn't help but feel shocked. I found it hard to believe what I was reading but at the same time I felt hope, this might just be what I need to help Vale and his pack. Still, do I? Do I really have such power? If I do then it would mean I am truly a Namig, what appears every one hundred years. That would actually solve the biggest question I had about myself in my life. I know that I can control elements just like they say Namigs do but I feel like I can only be sure when I see myself being able to use the power I've just discovered about Namigs.
So for the rest of the remaining days until we go fave the lake guardian I focused on practicing, preparing and memorizing the steps.
The day had finally arrived and I felt quite nervous, the werewolves from the other pack had just arrived. I couldn't help but sigh when seeing the werewolves that the Crimson pack sent, it's as I expected. There were ten of them and compared to Vale's werewolves they looked weak. There were three women and the rest were men. The women looked kinda thin and weak, the men, some had large bellies, some were old and unkempt. Only one looked strong with large muscles and scars all over his face, he currently had a 'don't talk to me' expression. They looked like they didn't want to be here but it was also obvious that the Crimson pack sent the worst of its werewolves.
" Arina, hey. Long time no see" said Zik and I couldn't help but smile when seeing him, "yeah you don't visit" I shot back. "hey it not my fault that Vale decided to lock you up but on a serious note, are you okay" I found it hard to answer his question because of someone's glare. "is there something on my face Vale?" early in the morning and I've done something to make him glare at me and that something is innocently responding to Zik. Wait, could it be that he is jealous? But why?
Our weird situation was attracting everyone's attention and Vale decided to ignore me. I kind of wanted to know where the hell he was all this time. I barely saw him around the house " this is no time for small talk, prepare to head out. I want everyone to focus and as for the werewolves from the Crimson pack: I don't want any of you slowing us down"
Everyone headed his words and I got on his back after his transformation, I truly believe that we did our best to prepare. I also placed everything I might need to make potions in my ugly bracelet incase we run out of potions. I believe that I made more than enough but we really don't know what may happen. They, we have never face anything like this.
