Ruthless

Ruthless
"Wha...I don't know what you're talking about," she stuttered and it was at that moment that Vale's expression changed. His eyes, once unreadable, now pierced through her, making Arina's nervousness visible despite her pathetic attempts to hide it. He didn't even give me a chance to explain why I suspected Arina of being the traitor. Vale slowly stood up from his chair and In just a split second, his hands closed around Arina's neck, lifting her off the ground. Her face turned red, and her eyes bulged in horror as she struggled for air.

"Why? What does this mean? Is this how you repay my loyalty?" she forced out those words while tears were streaming down her face. Her expression would make any person doubt my accusation.

Vale's voice sent shivers down my spine as he asked, "Do you remember the state you were in when I found you?" He chuckled darkly and threw Arina to the floor. " Oh and this isn't because she suspects you, I just strangled you because I felt like it," he said that like it's the most normal thing in the world. It just reminded me that he has a cruel side and taking lives is something he has probably done.

I also realized I needed to explain myself quickly before Vale's temper turned on me. "I think Arina is working for the vampires," I said hastily. "The morning after we returned, I saw her without her silver ring. At first, I didn't think much of it, but then I saw her again at midnight, still without the ring. She lied to me, saying she was thirsty but she ran back to her room without drinking anything, I'm sure she was trying to sneak into the room I used to make potions. It's obvious she's been removing her ring to communicate with the vampires at night. Also I..."

I didn't get to finish what I wanted to say as Arina's voice rose in desperation, burying mine"She's lying! I don't work for the vampires. I'd never betray you!"

" Shut up, don't you ever get tired of running your mouth!" An even stronger voice resounded throughout the house, Vale's fingers pinched the bridge of his nose. "Tell me Arina Morjwal When was the last time you've actually helped the pack?"

"I...- Vale- no Alpha Vale please believe me, I am loyal to you and you only"

Her words did nothing but tickle Vale or maybe try to become he gave a fake laugh" ha! you can't even answer the question. Your so called knowledge only helped us a few times and your loyalty? Nothing! I'm both happy and angry at the same time because sadly for you I have been thinking of a way to get rid of you for quite some time now"

" Wha-what?"

My gosh It truly is a devastating day for you dear Arina, I'm exposing you, he strangles you and he is finally telling you he no longer has any use for you.

"It's good because I now have a reason to get rid of you but that doesn't mean I'm not furious right now. You almost killed the most important person in the pack right now, you made her feel unsafe and exposed all she does for us to those pale bloodsuckers! You deny it to my face as though I'm a fool that is unable to see through you're stupid act. Why! Tell me what they promised you!"

The state she was in right now was that of a person in denial, she couldn't stop shaking her head after Vale told her he's been looking for a way to get rid of her. It's like what was keeping her together was shattered by his words " no don't say that please, please I'm loyal to you! I- I really had no choice" oh? She didn't?

" I was afraid and they-they threatened to kill me, yes please they said they had a way to give me a painful death! I had no choice!" Even in an unstable state she still has the ability and guts to lie, they would've never been able to contact her if she hadn't removed her ring. She did this on purpose and I hope Vale realizes this and not be fooled by her. Him, I couldn't even look his way. Call me crazy but his rage is even affecting the air in this room, no it isn't hot or stuffy. Their invisibly feels cold, heavy and freezing all movements.

" So what you're saying is you fear those bloodsucking mosquitos over me. Their threats are scarier than my own wrath! " With the corner of my eye I saw the ugly smile on his face. I quickly looked away while shivering uncontrollably because I caught a glimpse of his once cold silver eyes now currently glowing as though belonging to a beast.

Arina's entire body shook uncontrollably as she stared at him in horror, I felt pity as she was directly facing what I caught glimpse of.

"Since you choose to fear the vampires and not me then I don't want you to regret your decision. you'll be allowed to die after surely a long painful blood draining torture."

Yes Era this is the man that a moment ago you so confidently thought you could escape from. I didn't feel happy at all that the person who almost made me killed will now be killed in a very long painful way. I also didn't feel bad, it's just that I'm realizing now that Vale isn't an easy man. No I knew that already, but I don't know if I forget or just blocked the part that he is a ruthless man. Unlike Queen Serena he doesn't wear a mask of a saint, he does whatever he wants because his strength doesn't depend on those that follow him. He doesn't hesitate to punish, kill or get revenge. How could I even forget the way he uncaringly sliced that pevert's arm.

Will I really be capable of escaping from him? What if he catches me and tortures me because of I fooled him. Should I...am I really supposed to forget
about ever escaping from him.
