Chapter 278 CHAPTER 278
Chapter 278 CHAPTER 278
My friends were all over me when I went to see them the next day.
"I thought you were sick or something," Mira said, sitting by my bedside.
"No, I was thrown into a volcano by my dragon and it turned me into something else."
They looked at me, expecting me to burst into laughter, but I was dead serious.
"You're joking," Erin gasped, "please tell me your sense of humour has gotten worse!"
I giggled, "It's not that bad, what do you mean?"
"Why would she throw you into a volcano!?"
"So I can become what everyone has been telling me I'm supposed to be. It wasn't even that bad, I'm sure it didn't hurt as much as I thought it did."
"Oh tiny stars in the skies," Akua finally said words, "I don't know if to be impressed or terrified."
"I think both qualify for this situation. I can't even imagine it," Mira said.
"You guys, I'm fine! Look at me, I'm the same person. Unburnt."
"I don't know.." Erin frowned, "There's just a glow about you. It's like you're breathing power in every breath you take. Is that normal? Do I do that?"
"It's still balancing out. I would have burnt things to ashes by accident if I'd come out before bonding with my Ties all over again."
"I want to imagine how hot that particular sex session was but I fear my imagination won't match in comparison," Akua grinned.
"And you'll be absolutely right. Whatever the extreme is, multiply it by ten. I literally made Zade and Florian pass out."
"Girlll.." Mira gasped
I shrugged, "They kept coming back for more. Draco was trying so hard to control himself but after the second orgasm, let's just say I broke him and rebuilt him again. Uhh, all of this talk is making me want to go wake them up for another session but we'll spend the entire day in bed."
"Nope, not happening," Akua shook her head, "they've had you for long enough. We're going to a party. We wanna show you off."
"Show me off?" I laughed.
"Yes, our friend is the most powerful Drakkonian. Our room is the highest in rankings. I can't wait for this war to be over. We'll be getting a mansion in the Capital if we keep this up," Akua continued.
"A mansion? Why didn't anybody tell me there was a price?"
"We barely have time to talk with you running off to go jump into volcanoes and shit."
We all laughed at that.
"What's this party about anyway?" I asked, wondering what to wear.
"Do these third years ever need a reason to throw a party?" Erin rolled her eyes.
"Don't mind Erin, she's in one of her moods again," Mira said, getting up. "We're celebrating the last weekend before all rest periods will be used for moving equipment to the warfront."
"Ouch. I thought we'd get to rest for a bit before the battle begins."
"Nope. The people fighting will surely rest a night before, but everyone else must help. Healers, students, slaves, everyone incapable of wielding a sword or riding a dragon."
"Alright," Akua clapped, "enough of the sorry talk, let's get ready. We're partying from this evening till midnight."
"Which means we should still have four hours before. Why are we getting ready?" I wondered out loud.
"Because we all wanna get laid tonight," Mira winked, chuckling.
"Ohh.. so aphrodisiacs, long baths and make up, huh?" I said, getting into the vibe of the day.
"Yess, I got new scents too! Let's go!" Akua yelled and we all joined her, and when we opened the door, everyone in the girls' hostel was in the same mood.
Great for me, I needed a whole day away from my troubled mind.
This was by far the best party I'd seen them throw in the school, as though someone rich was funding it.
Or maybe everyone just assumed the world might end soon and contributed their allowances.
But I was on my fourth cup of Drakkonian alcohol and there were still so many back there. Mind you, I'm not that much of a drinker.
As the night grew, they built a big fire and the music coming from a magically powered drum had everyone dancing and playing around the fire.
I found a log of wood to sit on, watching everyone have fun.
A shadow came by my left side and I turned to see Kassandra.
I raised an eyebrow.
She'd been avoiding me like the plague for months now, I wasn't sure what she was doing next to me now.
"Promise you won't try to convince me of anything and I will sit down," she said, her voice on edge.
I smiled, "Don't worry, Kass, everything is under control now. You don't have to help."
She frowned for a second but she let it go.
We sat together in silence for a while, sipping our drinks slowly, minds in different places.
I was planning all the things I was going to do with my Ties tonight, not worrying about the end of the world.
There's tomorrow for all of that.
Kass' face didn't look like she was thinking about sex though.
"Are you alright?" I asked after she nearly dropped her cup.
"You're doing something most people would opt out of because it's hard," she started and I opened my mouth to interject but she raised her finger, "I know I'm sort of a hypocrite and that this burden on you would have been lessened if I contributed, but unfortunately, I can't help. I'm sorry. But I just wanted to.. I don't know, maybe thank you for having the balls that I don't have."
"Seriously, Kass, don't worry about it. I'm meant to do this and I will. Okay?"
She nodded and threw her drink back into her throat.
Akua appeared from the crowd, drunk as hell and began beckoning to us.
"It's the end of the world! Get up and dance!"
"Girl, what are you saying?" I laughed, taking the cup from her hand.
"I think she wants us to dance," Kass replied with a smile.
I shrugged, "I'm terrible at it but hey, you asked."
"Yaayy!" She cheered and pulled us towards the centre where there was a ring of students dancing around the fire.
I got lost in the moment, dancing with my friends and being normal.
Not an ancient power that can destroy the world if used wrongly.
No pressure at all tonight, I'm just going to dance.
