Chapter 55 55
When I woke up, I happened to be tied up and lying on the bare floor. I moved my limbs, but they didn't respond…before me was Dragon Sovereign, busy with his chess game all by himself.
Without looking at me, he knew I was already awake. “What if I butchered your brother as you did to that dragon male?” he asked, causing something to stir in me. “If I had several swords pierce through his body, I hope you wouldn't call me cruel?”
At that moment, everything resonated in my mind. I grabbed all that happened right from when I was itching and back in my room, but I couldn't understand how I ended up doing that when I was scared of blood.
I shook my head at him, “Honestly…”
“There's nothing honest about it…” he cut me short, and I bit my lower lip. “Are you trying to say you didn't know when you did it? I also couldn't know when I would unalive your brother. What do you think?”
My heart palpitated in fear. I really wanted to tell him that I was possessed, because it was as though something took over me.
“But, you can't punish my brother for my sins. He's innocent, so don't talk about him.” I said to him politely, but I wondered how disrespectful it sounded to him when he sent a heavy glare at me, which caused my heart to skip a beat. “I'm sorry, Dragon Sovereign. You know very well that I'm telling the truth.”
“And I just said that there's no truth about it…
“There is! I was possessed and didn't know what came over me. You know how much I'm scared of blood, yet I loved how I fought that man and took his life. But you also know that he came after my life, and you weren't there. So what would I have done to defend myself?” I shook my head because I was just making things worse for myself.
I knew damn well it was my fae power coming through, and I didn't like it because he would like me to find out if we were soulmates or not. It was better if he saved my life than if I defended myself like I had done, for the sake of the people I loved.
He stood from where he was and walked closer to me. “I should have destroyed you yesterday, and then have your brother cremated before the whole realm. Wouldn't that be interesting?” he said while squatting.
I didn't respond or move my body.
He didn't seem to care that his person came after my life when he wasn't with me. It only showed that he wouldn't be bothered if I died.
“So, what if I killed my attacker?” I seriously didn't know when such a question left my lips. And before I could process it, I added, “I left here and saw people to kill if I loved it, but I didn't. If he didn't come after me, then I wouldn't have his sword kill him.”
He scoffed and nodded, “Self-defence, that's what it's called. But unfortunately, a fae doesn't have that right in my realm…and you are not excluded. Maybe I will have your brother pay for…
“No, no no!!” I screamed out, my body hair all standing. “Don't, please! Leave River out of this and do to me whatever you want.”
He was about to speak when Ofelia's voice came from the doorpost. She knocked as though she owned the whole place with Dragon Sovereign.
“Davina?! Where are you? Dragon Sovereign, get out my friend from there…”
His brows creased, and then he looked down at me.
She came at the wrong time and was adding to his anger, so I kept shaking my head in plea.
“Are you not hearing me? Davina, should I come in and get you out? Is Dragon Sovereign punishing you for a crime you didn't commit? You have to take what I got for you…”
I wanted to get out there and cover her lips. How long will she learn to mind her choice of words?
“Dragon Sovereign,” I mentioned, and the door creaked.
He got his palm on me, and I found myself standing on a high mountain.
“This is the highest mountain on earth, and I alone own it,” he said, yet did not turn to spare me a look. “From here, you could see the whole earth, including the fae realm,” he said again, his palms clamped backwards.
I licked my lips and couldn't even move my body as the rope was still tied around me. But just like he said, I could see the fae realm from there.
“It would really be fun watching the whole person in the fae realm be destroyed. Don't you think so?” he asked and turned around to face me. “Just like you enjoyed taking the life of that dragon and went unscathed, I would do the same before your very eyes and still go unscathed. Besides, you don't even love them.”
I said nothing because he had always wanted to destroy the whole fae realm and could do so.
When I didn't say anything to him, he scoffed and walked some feet away from me. I watched intently as he ordered his dragon out of him, and it crawled by the wind into the whole earth.
Once it reached the fae realm, it circled them, and they were sealed by a barrier.
“None of them will escape. But I will need to choose their method of death. Should it be by armed weapons, or by magic striking, or by slow death from sickness and diseases? What would you choose, fae slave?” he asked, and I looked away.
I wondered why he seriously wanted me to talk, but I had no interest in what he was doing.
His dragon crawled away from the fae realm, and the direction was in his realm.
“It’s going to get your brother back to the fae realm. What a lovely show!” he said and bit his lower lip, looking so happy.
I moved my body, forgetting that I was tied up when he said that, and my breath hung in my throat. “You can't do that to my brother when you were still the one who brought him out. Please call back your dragon.”
He made a long face, and I saw the devil that he really was. “My dragon hears once. Which means, it wouldn't listen to me until it drops your brother back to the fae realm.”
I felt my soul leave my body.
Why was he doing this to my brother when I was the one who committed the crime?
“Should we get your friend? It would be fun too…”
That one word. He kept using that one word.
“Really, it wasn't fun, Dragon Sovereign. You could do with the fae realm what you want, but hurting my brother and friend isn't fun, just like I didn't have fun killing that dragon male. Indeed, I was possessed, because I hadn't ever felt that way.”
He shot me a thick glare and turned around.
I wanted to cry blood, to move closer to him, but couldn't.
“I'm begging you, please don't do this. I promise to take whatever punishment you give me…”
He gave me a side look, “Even if you have to die as you did to him?”
