Chapter 58

Rebecca's POV.

Everything was set and we were all headed where we needed to go. The lights were on in the pack house, but all of the people from the three packs were outside ready for the main announcement. Jack said his pack would be here in about ten minutes. That gave us enough time to get things set up.

The bonfire was lit, and the crowd was pumped up. The omegas got a couple of boar cooking over the fire, as well as some bear meat. They already had everything else ready and set up for us. There were rocks set up in a giant ring for the challenge to take place, and the packs began to gather around.

It was a great sight to see, all these wolves coming together to help save a pack, and possibly their own as well. Who knows what else Darius had plans for, but now it would all be ruined. We stood by the circle and waited. There were a few of the younger warriors sparring and laughing. There were only a few of us that knew the truth of why we are here tonight.

I saw Darius looking out his office window, he smiled and waved to some people, then closed his blinds and shut the lights off to his office. It wouldn't be but a few minutes now that he would be walking out the door to see what was going on.

I heard Jack whisper to Jared that his pack just pulled in. Not a moment too soon. We stood where Jared had told us and waited. When Darius came walking out, he didn't look very happy.

"What's this all about? The graduation isn't set until Friday. So, what's the celebration for?" He looked around to see everyone staring at him.

Jared walked forward and asked for silence. When everyone was still, he began his introduction.

"Most of you here know me. I'm Jared, son of Mark and Mary. They are the human lawyers for the Four Prairies pack. Tonight, I would like to honor a great man. An Alpha of all Alpha's." He paused for a moment for everyone to clap and give praise. I noticed Jack had hidden himself among the crowd.

"The Alpha I'm speaking of has overcome so much loss in his life. Yet through everything, he has managed to overcome his own pain to protect this pack and others as well. I am proud to call him friend, and just as proud to hopefully have a chance to fight by his side. Now, I would like to introduce you all to the Alpha I'm speaking of." I watched as Darius stepped forward, smiling at the attention.

"I'm sure everyone here knows who I am, young Jared. Though I don't think we've spent enough time together to be considered friends." He continued to wave, thinking all of this was about him.

"I wasn't talking about you Alpha Darius. I'm sorry, but there is Another Alpha here that we are celebrating. It's like a rebirth day for him." Jared turned and smirked, it was as though he saw the same flint of anger in Darius's eyes as I did.

"I do apologize to you all for the confusion. The Alpha that I am speaking of is actually, Alpha Julian Jackson Andrews of the Broken Moon Pack." Jared stood tall when announcing Jack.

"What is this? Jack is no Alpha; he is a murderer that was banished from this pack twenty-one years ago. He better not be here, or I will kill him." Darius growled out as he searched the crowd for his brother.

"You won't be doing that. There's something more important that you need to worry about, Alpha Darius." Jared was getting a kick out of this.

"You don't give me orders, human. I give the orders in this pack. I have nothing I need to worry about. Now, WHERE IS JACK?" He was definitely pissed.

"Everyone here, listen to my words. Alpha Darius is not who you think he is. He has plans to kill everyone in this pack just to keep his position as Alpha." Everyone was shocked by Jared's words.

He went on to explain everything we have found out about our so-called Alpha. I saw the looks of disbelief in people's eyes as they listened to Jared explain about the fire, the attack on his parents, the attack on Bryon and Aussie, and the rogues he has waiting to attack. He talked about the Elders being involved, how Darius had been bringing rogues into the pack, and finally, how Darius had even been setting up my dad to take the fall for everything. When he was done talking all that could be heard were whispers among different pack members. Darius looked as though he was ready to kill.

"HOW DARE YOU TELL THESE LIES! COME OUT JACK, I KNOW YOU'RE HERE! IF YOU WANT TO CHALLENGE ME YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE SENT THIS HUMAN TO DO YOUR DIRTY WORK." Darius still couldn't find Jack in the crowd.

"He's not here to challenge you Alpha Darius, he's here to make sure you don't cheat when you are challenged. As are Alpha Nick Vega and Alpha Brett Calloway. Would you like to meet the one challenging you now Alpha?" Jared was cool and collected. I didn't see a shred of fear in him at all.

"Fine, who is this person that dares think he can take me?" Darius looked around again, waiting for someone to step forward.

"Hear me now! I am Nikeeto Harris Williamson, son of Oliver Stephen Williamson, son of James Valorem Williamson, the once Alpha of the Broken Moon Pack. I challenge you, Alpha Darius, for the right to lead and protect this pack from monsters like you." Jared stood tall in his pride for his family and his wolf.

"You're just a human, you can't challenge me. Only another Alpha can challenge me. You must be losing your mind. And how am I a monster? The only thing I've ever done wrong is not kill Jack when he set fire to the old clinic. I showed mercy, AND FOR WHAT JACK? SO, YOU COULD COME BACK AND TRY TO TAKE THIS PACK FROM ME? WE WERE BROTHERS! SO COME OUT, BEFORE YOU DISAPPOINT OUR PARENTS EVEN MORE." Darius really needed to take my mate more seriously. "There's a reason Jack has no proof of anything he says boy, it's because it's simply not true." The smugness of this man.

"Oh, I have proof. Plenty of it too. Would you like to hear my evidence? Perhaps you can come up with more lies to cover up your already existing ones. I doubt it though." Jack was about to walk up. Soon everyone would believe the truth.

"Fine, where's this so-called evidence? Tell me human, how did you come to acquire the lies your about to show us all?" Darius knew there was no physical evidence, maybe that's why he thought he was in the clear.

"Rebecca, please come forward and tell everyone what we know." I walked up to stand by Jared's side one again.

I told everyone pretty much the same thing that Jared had told them. When I had finished, Darius started laughing.

"That's not evidence, that's the same lies that have already been told. You think just because your whore of a mate comes here to speak your words, that everyone is just supposed to believe it. WHERE IS THE PROOF THAT YOU SPEAK THE TRUTH?" Now I wanted to kill him.

"I AM THE PROOF YOU NO FANGED MONGREL! DO NOT EVER TALK ABOUT ME LIKE THAT AGAIN YOU SCHEMING, KIDNAPPING, MURDERER! AND DON'T YOU EVER TALK DOWN TO MY MATE AGAIN! I AM NOT SOMEONE YOU WANT TO FUCK WITH!" I yelled as loud as I could.

By the time I was finished telling Darius off, I was glowing in a deep blue haze. Everyone started to freak out, but the other Alpha's came to my side, including Jack. They explained that I was indeed the heir to the Moon Goddess and that every word I had said was the truth. Darius didn't show any fear over this, instead he just laughed.

"Something else you have no proof of other than some Christmas light show. I'm tired of this nonsense. Jack, I told you if you ever came back, it would mean your death. Yet here you are. Let's get this over with." He raised his hand to hit Jack, only Jared caught it before Darius could bring it crashing down.

" I repeat Darius. I am Nikeeto Harris Williamson, son of Oliver Stephen Williamson, son of James Valorem Williamson, the once Alpha of the Broken Moon Pack. I challenge you, Alpha Darius, for the right to lead and protect this pack. I am not just some human and you will recognize this fact by the time I'm done with you. I have proof of your lies and the destruction you have caused. I also have the support of three Alpha's and four Beta's for this challenge. So, either accept it, or step down." I could tell Jared was tired of playing games. Now, Darius had to choose.
