Chapter 51
Jared's POV.
By the time I was out of the shower, Becca was already gone. I was a bit sad that she didn't wait to say goodbye, but I knew she had a lot to do today. Liam was taking me to the cells here soon. It was time to have a chat with the Zellerman's. I was going to make them tell me everything, and I was going to have fun doing it. I think I'll have Becca do that memory spell later just to make sure though.
Carly came back to change before going into town. I wonder who they got for guards. I wish I could go. There are a few things I want to get for the new house, like a grill and some outdoor furniture. As soon as we get settled in, I want to have a barbecue for everyone. I can't wait to move in.
Just as Liam and I were about to leave, Alex and Becca pulled up. With everything going on, Alex seemed to be in high spirits. Becca came running up to me and jumped into my arms. It felt so good to just be able to kiss her.
" I'm sorry I left in such a hurry. I hope dad explained why. Anyway, the omegas are working on getting the house cleaned out and getting the yard cleaned up. We'll get the paint today so they can get the house ready for everything on Monday. We'll get the necessities today, and extras, but then after we get the furniture and stuff in, we'll go shopping for the rest. I figured you'd want a whole nice set up outside, but if we wait to get that til last, then the omegas said they would fix up the yard so it's pretty, even get us a garden going in the back. What do you think?" I gave her a questioning look.
" How is it you know me so well? So, then what are you doing tomorrow?" I hope not too much because I wanted to help her figure out how to fix the yard up.
" The only thing I have planned for tomorrow is going to see Stephanie. Other than that, I'm free. Unless something else comes up. Why do you ask?" I know I have training in the morning.
" Ok so after I get done with my training, let's go sketch out the plans for our yard. I don't know what we're going to do about the grass though. It might take a while for seed to take root though." And until it does, we won't want to put anything heavy on it.
" Actually Jared, I'm going to have them dig up the old, then lay soil down. If you want seed that's fine, but I can just get them to put down sod for you on Tuesday." She is a lifesaver.
" That would be awesome." This was going to be the best-looking yard in the pack. " We should have the plans drawn up before that so they can measure everything out. I'm thinking flowers everywhere, maybe put in some bushes too. I want it to look like my queen lives there. We can add in little by little over the next few months. I don't want you paying for everything Alex." She really shouldn't have too.
" Jared, you do realize that I have more money than I can every possibly spend in one lifetime. So, I won't hear another word about me paying for anything. It's just nice to see that I can put some of it to good use." She smiled at me.
" Yes ma'am, no more arguing with you." Becca laughed at my words.
" Good, that settles it then. So, Jared, how did training go? What did Liam say?" I smiled so proudly at Alex.
" Well, he said I'm a natural. He wants to teach me a few moves, but he said I should be ready by Tuesday. Then he wants me to rest up, save up enough of my energy and strength. Other than that, I'm good to go." I will be ready, I swear it.
Carly came out and we said our goodbyes. I watched them drive away as I waited for Liam. It wasn't long before he came walking out and we were on our way to the cells. I knew Liam would help me get the information we needed. If we got everything, we could get the other rogues into cells before Darius could give the order to attack.
When we got there, there were no guards at the entrance. I'm assuming that was because no one wanted Darius knowing we had the Zellermans in the cells. I think Bryon and Aussie were dealing with it all. This was all interesting to see, I've never been to the cells before. It wasn't a grand dungeon with all kinds of torture equipment like I thought it would be. Instead, there was the main hall coming from the entrance down to a room with chains. Off the main hallway there were seven corridors that had ten cells down each side, making it one hundred and forty cells all together.
We walked down to about the middle of the second corridor to where Mr. Zellerman was being held. I stayed to the shadows, so he didn't notice my presence. I already knew that he was pissed for being locked up. I just wanted to see what he would tell Liam.
" I demand you let me and my wife out of here this instant. We have done nothing wrong. That human whelp, that mated your bitch daughter, attacked my wife and almost killed her. So, you can either let us go, or you can go get the Alpha so he can tell me himself that I'm to remain down here. Either way, I have nothing more to say to you, you filthy mongrel." Oh boy, this guy was going to regret that.
" YOU WILL STAND WHEN ADDRESSING ME ROGUE. I AM NOT SOME OMEGA OF THIS PACK FOR YOU TO ABUSE. I AM LIAM, THE BETA. YOU WOULD DO WELL TO REMEMBER YOUR PLACE. I ALREADY KNOW WHY YOU'RE HERE. IT WAS UNDER THE LUNA'S ORDERS OR ARE YOU CALLING HER A LIAR. PICK YOUR NEXT WORDS CAREFULLY ROGUE, OR THEY MAY BE YOUR LAST!" Liam growled at Zellerman letting him know he meant what he said.
I would have never believed what happened next, if I hadn't heard it myself. This guy just wanted to have Liam kill him, that's the only reason I can think of.
" Like I said, either release me, or bring the Alpha to see me. Otherwise, we're done here." Then he went to go back to the corner he was sitting in.
Liam ripped open the cell door and was holding the man up by his throat. That look of fear finally came over his face. I don't know why he thought he could get away with talking to Liam the way he had, but now he was regretting it.
" Stop, stop, you can't do this. Not without the Alpha's consent." That's when I stepped out of the dark so he could see me.
I stood there for a moment, just watching Walter dangle in Liam's grip. Walter just kept looking back and forth between the two of us. That's when I saw the glint of defeat in his eyes.
" You really should learn your manners. Seems you watched your mate learn to hold her tongue. Pity you haven't learned the same." I'm sure he could hear the hate in my voice.
" If you're going to kill me, just get it over with. You've already made up your mind anyway." I had made up my mind, he was going to be down here for a long time.
" Are you trying to take away my fun? See, I'm a good person. The thing is, when I look at you, all I see is red. You think just because you're one of the Alpha's rogues, you can do whatever you want. Well, he can't save you from me. Not after what you did to MY daughter. Now, you're going to tell me everything I want to know. You talk, you live. If you decide to keep quiet, I will make your life a living nightmare before I finally put you out of MY misery. Is that clear enough for you Walter? Maybe I should demonstrate." I turned away from him so he wouldn't see me hit record on my phone.
Liam set him down on the floor. I know I should take him down to the room with chains, but he might feel a little more comfortable in the cell. He could hold out for hope that I won't kill him. I turned back to face him and started my interrogation.
