Chapter 50

Rebecca's POV.

I remember falling asleep on the couch last night, but I'm waking up in my nice comfy bed, all tucked in. I would still be asleep if it weren't for my bladder screaming at me. After I was done in the bathroom, I tried to crawl back into bed. The only problem I had was the yelling coming from the back yard. Sleep would have to wait. I started walking downstairs and whoever was yelling seemed to quiet down some. At least I could still grab something to drink after walking all the way down here.

I grabbed some orange juice from out of the fridge, but before I could pour it, a loud crash came echoing in through the glass doors. I quickly ran over to find Jared fighting with Jack outside. What could have happened to cause this? I mean Jared knows that Jack never did all those things.

I ran out and jumped in between the two. I had to stop this insanity somehow. They were both out of breath and stalking each other. Just how long has this been going on? They needed to calm down, and fast.

" Okay, okay, I don't know what the problem is, but I'm sure we can work it all out. Let's just talk about this." I think they might be willing, but who knows.

" No, talking time is over. He called me a pupling. Can you believe that? After everything, I'm just a pupling?" What? He was upset over that?

" I didn't call him a pulling until after he called me a poo poo head. So, it's all his fault." Jack tried to look serious, but the next thing I knew, they both busted out laughing.

" Children, I'm living with children. So, what, you guys decided to wake up at all hours of the morning to train? Geez, people are trying to sleep you know." I looked up and saw just how high the sun was. What time is it anyway.

" Umm honey, it's almost eleven. We let you sleep in. It's ok though, I cancelled training, so you didn't miss much." Dad just smiled at me.

This was not good. I had so much to do. I needed to go see Stephanie, I had a list to make for stuff I need to get for the new house, I still need to go to the cells, and I still have training with Celeste. Ugh, another busy day, just great.

" Almost eleven, I need to hurry then. Too much to do." I rushed back up to my room to find something to wear for the day.

Once I had a cute outfit picked out, I hurried to go take a shower. The hot water running down my body felt so good. It seemed like a million years since I've taken one, but I just had one yesterday. Funny how a really busy day always seems to feel like years the next day. I just hope that today goes easier. I don't think I could handle another like yesterday.

I was finally ready for the day and starving. Maybe I would be lucky and find leftovers in the fridge, I doubt it though. Of course there wasn't, not with a bunch of hungry wolves in the house. Mom really needed to do some shopping. It's all good though. As soon as I get done at the clinic, I'll just head over to the new house and get the omegas started. Then maybe it will be lunch time. I could always run into town, but trying to find a guard to go with would be a hassle. Maybe there's something at the pack house I could eat. Mom's probably still over there cleaning up from breakfast and getting ready to start lunch.

" You look amazing, my mate." Jared came in and kissed me.

" Why thank you. I'm going to go see Stephanie, then get some omegas set to clean that house out. There's so much to do today." I needed to hurry if I was going to get anything done.

" Well, let me go take a quick shower and we can head out. I want to help as much as possible." He was so sweet.

" Okay, but you better be quick. I want to try and get as much done today as possible so I can try and relax tomorrow." I smacked him on the butt and sent him running up the stairs.

" I see Jared still has some energy left. I wish I was still that young." Jack came in laughing.

" How did he do with training?" I don't know why I asked, he's really good.

" He definitely impressed me. I don't think I've ever had anyone ever take me, except Darius. But Nikeeto knocked me on my butt a few times. I hear he learned it all from you. You're the top wolf to beat. I always said a pack needs strong leaders." I'm not a leader. What does he mean by that.

" I don't know about that. I mean I train hard, that's for sure. But I wouldn't say I'm the top wolf. And Jared definitely has his own skills." Who said I was too wolf?

" And humble too. You're definitely going to make a great Luna, and a Moon Goddess. I want to thank you Rebecca, for finding the truth and believing in me. It really does mean a lot." I really do like Jack, he's a cool guy.

" You don't need to say thank you. I'm just happy to help. Everything you must have gone through, all the pain and suffering, no one deserves that. You needed someone in your corner, so it's my pleasure to be that someone." He is really going to need all the help he can get to take on Darius.

" I truly can't wait for you to be Luna. You are absolutely perfect for the title." He seemed overly excited.

" It's still going to be awhile before I take over for Celeste. I have so much to learn." Way too much.

" I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about being the Luna of this pack. With Jared as the new Alpha. Oh, that's right, you were sleeping when all of us were talking about it. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything." I guess I missed a lot of last night.

" So, we make Darius stand down, but that doesn't mean that the elders would pick Jared. I mean he just got his wolf; they would want to pick someone more experienced. I'm sure once they know the truth, they're going to want you. Or even my dad until they can figure out what to do." There's just no way.

" I think I'll let Jared explain the plan. I'm not getting in the middle of this." What plan, middle of what? My dad came walking in from outside. He seemed really excited too. What is going on here?

" Well Jack, I must admit, Jared is a natural. I think he can do it. I really think he can." Are they planning what I think they're planning?

" No, no, no, NO!! You guys can't be serious. Not about this!" They can't really think this is a good idea.

" I had the same initial reaction Becca, and you know I would never agree to this under normal circumstances. But he really can do this, and these aren't normal circumstances. This is the only way we're going to be able to stop Darius. You were already asleep when we started talking about this last night. Becca, Stephanie's parents have been working for him. He's the one that made that phone call. He's the one with all the rogues behind him, including the ones that almost killed Bryon. He's planning on killing us all. The only way to stop him, well, is to challenge him. If we try anything else, it won't matter cause he'll just send his rogues to get us ahead of his schedule. We risk getting this pack killed." So, I missed more than a lot.

" I understand, but why does it have to be Jared? There are so many others that could do this."

" Not any that are strong enough, or fast enough. If we send anyone else, it will just get them killed for sure. I'm sorry Rebecca, Jared is the only one." Somehow, I knew he was right, no matter how much I didn't want him to be.

" So, I guess what we need, is to find out when Darius is planning this attack. Do you think any of his rogues would know? I mean since we have two locked up, why not ask them what they know." I really wanted to kill them now.

" I doubt they would want to risk Darius coming after them, if they even know anything. You can try though. I know Alex has given you and Jared all rights reserved for those two, just let me know if I can do anything. Go get your stuff done, Alex said to meet her at the new house at noon. Something about the omegas and shopping. I guess your mom is taking off the lunch shift, you guys are all going out to eat and whatnot. It's about time, your mom needs the break. Make sure those two have some fun." My dad winked at me.

" Oh crap, I figured Alex would want to hold off on that. Ugh.... why didn't you wake me up? Now I'm going to have to rush even more. JARED! HURRY UP OR IM GOING TO BE LATE! I know, let me call Grant really quick." So, I guess today isn't going to be so easy.

" Is there anything I can take off your hands? I can be pretty good at helping." My dad is so funny sometimes.

" Actually dad, there is. Why don't you go to the cells with Jared. We need answers now, and I'm going to be busy all day. Besides, I'd probably go overboard on the torture and just kill them at this point." I would too.

" No sweat, if you wanna go now, I'll fill him in, and we can catch up with you guys later." I love my dad.

" Thank you, dad. That's one main thing off my list. Now to go meet Alex and mom to get the other two. Do you think we could grill tonight, have everyone over?" I gave my little, I'm your princess look.

" Of course, here, take my card and get what we need. Make sure to grab some plates and napkins too, I think we're running low." He handed me his credit card and I gave him a big hug.

" Thank you, daddy. I love you. I will see you guys later." I grabbed my purse and hurried out the door.

As soon as I was in the car, I called Grant to check on Steph since I wasn't going to make it over there this morning. She was still sedated but doing good. Grant is still looking into finding anything that can help her. He has a lead on a doctor over by the east coast, hopefully this pans out.

I got off the phone and started over to the new house. I was happy it was close to mom and dad, that way I could sneak over if I needed to borrow anything. Or just to have coffee with mom in the morning.

When I got to the house, the first thing I saw was ten trucks parked outside and twenty omegas waiting for me. I wasn't expecting this many people. At least I didn't have to stay here to be boss lady while they did their thing. All I had to do was make a list and point out what I wanted.

" Good morning Ms. Daniels, we're here to get things done for you today." That was way too formal.

" Please, call me Becca. Is Luna Alexandria here yet?" I hadn't seen her anywhere.

" She sent us on ahead. She said she'd be here in a little while." So, I had a little time.

" Okay, well, I guess let's get started." All the things I wanted done. I don't want Steph reminded of any bad memories here.

" So, since there are so many of us, we were thinking, do you want an overhaul on this dead yard too. Maybe get a couple flower beds, plant some roses over there. We could do a whole vegetable and herb garden in the back. Dante over there thought you might like to plant a tree right over there. Something that says this is your place. Actually, I need to talk to Luna about a few things first. But yeah, I would love to get the yard cleaned up, then maybe Monday I'll know what I want to do. This is going to be at least a three-day job on the inside. Today I want everything taken out of the house. Tomorrow you guys will be painting, and then Monday I want to get the new things in. So maybe five of you stay out here to get the yard cleaned up." I wanted to make everything perfect for Steph.

" Sure, that's what we're here for." The girl was very shy.

" So, here's the deal. There is a girl that has been living here, she will be coming back to live with me. I want her room packed up because of the painting. You can put her personal items in boxes and set in the garage. Her furniture is being replaced, so everything else can go. If there's anything you guys want aside from her things, feel free to take it. I don't care if you guys keep it or take it to storage. I just want it all gone." They all looked at me like it was Christmas morning.

" Really, thank you so much Becca. You are so awesome. You're not like the others, you're like Luna. You actually care about us." Why wouldn't I?" Well of course. I mean you guys are taking time out of your busy schedules to come here and help me. Not to mention but you are part of my pack. That makes you family in my book." A few of the girls started crying, but they looked like happy tears.

" Geez Becca, what did they do for you to make them start crying already?" Alex winked at them as she walked up.

" Well, they were being too formal for starters, and the two are just too cute. I can already tell that one is gonna work his butt off to impress me. You know I can't have that." I giggled.

" Well of course not." Alex and I just started laughing so hard.

All these people just stared at us like we were crazy. It was funny how pack etiquette seemed to always make the omegas uncomfortable. I bet if I said Auntie Alex right now, at least three of them would have a coronary. I of course would never do that.

" So yeah, if there's a stereo in there crank it up, I know you guys are going to be working through lunch, so I will have some stuff delivered from that pizza place in town. Make sure you get the house cleaned out and the yard work done in the yard but have fun. We won't be back until late, but maybe you guys could get the rooms ready to be painted tomorrow." Alex really was going all out for this.

" Like said everything must go. Take what you want, put the rest to storage. No wait, any paperwork, I want it boxed up and taken over to the Beta's house. You don't have to sort it out, just toss it in the box. And now we are set to go. Where's mom?" I thought she would be with Alex.

" Oh, she had to run home and change; I told her we'd pick her up on the way out. I'll follow you over so you can drop your car off." We walked to our cars arm in arm. It really was wonderful to be spending time with Alex.
