When we got home, mommy Helena explained why the house was messy. She says she wants to be involved in preparing for Hugo’s wedding. Hugo was said to be his only child, so she wants the preparation to come from her own hands. I would also like to join in the preparation but I am thinking of my baby. Maybe when I always tire myself, it just doesn’t cling to me.
I am now sitting in the living room while watching Estella make a flower out of paper. The color she makes is sky blue and white. She puts a thin wire at the end, which seems to be the lock for them. She is leaning on my feet now. I watch how she does that because it seems like it’s just a matter of time.
I approached her to say that she would also teach me how to do that. She just looked at me and crawled to where she should pick up the scissors. She had a cutout and then handed me a piece of paper. I stared at it, then she leaned over me. At first, I didn’t know what to do until she slowly instructed me what to do.
I clapped after I made a flower. I was still sweating, and it took time. I was still making it when she already made four. As I continued to do it, Hugo approached me with water. He still doesn’t come into his office and informs daddy Adelard that he will file for leave to take care of me. I told him there was no need, but he insisted.
He handed me a capsule and then handed the water to me. I took it immediately and picked up the paper flower again. He put my runaway hair behind my ear.
“Don’t exhaust yourself.” He stood up to return the glass to the kitchen. Because the wall in the lobby was glass, I saw Soleil staring at us. Her gaze was sharp on me, so I resisted her gaze.
Since Estella was next to me, she noticed immediately that I was no longer moving my hands, so she looked where I was staring. Soleil quickly averted her face and walked away when Estella looked at her as well. As my heart was pounding, I was surprised because Estella put the paper flower in my ear. I smiled at what she did.
I don’t know if it’s normal to be fond of children if you become pregnant. I turned her face to me and then pinched both cheeks. If you look at the two of us, we are just like siblings.
“Mmm.” She removes my hand from her face and got annoyed, but I am even more excited. She was already struggling, so I hugged her tightly and then laughed.
Hugo suddenly stepped aside and smiled. Hugo tickled her. They could hear our noise in the lobby. I noticed everyone was looking at us. Esther was smiling and seemed in tears. Maybe she was happy to see her daughter laughing and mommy Helena smiling at us. She pulled Esther closer to us and then spoke.
“If the house is noisy right now, what more if your baby comes out.” It was no joke, she said. She said that as if she could already see our future here inside the house.
Esther smiled at me, too. “Looks like when I’m gone, I know where I’ll leave Estella.” That was a joke, she said. She still laughed, but I knew there was a hint of seriousness in what she said, so I ride with it.
“Then Estella will be my daughter.” I laughed and added that. “I have my first child.”
Estella looks back at us as if she can’t get what we’re saying. I touched her hair and then caress her. Just in case what Ester says comes true, I want to be the one to get Estella.
The night ended with only ten flowers I was doing. As I saw when we got home here, others of them are still not done with what they are doing and the light is on. I never saw Soleil again because it looks like she and Aunt Julia have gone home. I am now in the room to wait for Hugo to give me the medicine I am going to take tonight. But it was probably only an hour, but he was still not back, so I decided to go down.
I slowly went down the stairs because I was afraid of slipping. When I got to the lobby, it was quiet. The lights outside are also off. Maybe they were rested. Since there are a lot of rooms here, I’m sure they fit in there. As I walked into the kitchen, the speaker’s voice grew louder and louder.
“Me? ...” The voice stopped speaking, so I continued to walk slowly. “I want to go back to the person I love.”
I couldn’t recognize the voice because it was still a bit far away from me, so I came even closer. “So I’m working on a way to do that.”
When the speaker’s sentence ended, I immediately recognized who it was. Soleil is the owner of that voice. I finally got into the kitchen and saw them laughing. They sat on the barstool while facing each other. The water and medicine and I saw on the bar counter. I think it was an effect of my pregnancy because my head heated up quickly, but I promptly calmed myself down. I walked over in front of them.
It surprised Hugo when he saw me and I rapidly took the water and drink that was next to him. I just acted like nothing and left them both there. I heard Hugo’s quick walk, but I ignored it. I just walked straight.
When I was in that room, the door opened immediately. I took the medicine in my hand, then leave them without saying anything. I’m just losing my yearning for Hugo. Every day I just feel like I’m not worth wasting his time. I’m sure the reason I’m being emotional is just that I’m pregnant.
However...
