It's now six months after breaking up with Liam and one thing that still baffles me is that he has never stepped foot at this company and even when we hold some meetings with the shareholders which requires him to show up,he still sends in his damn secretary.
At some point I wanted to approach her and ask where her boss was all this time but my pride couldn't let me so I just let it be.
Nowadays,me and Herman patched things up and we are back together because I sleep at his place once in a while but he can't sleep at mine because I have Halsey and Alma there.
“Hey are you done with work?” I received a message from Herman.
“Yes almost…please don't tell me you're already waiting for me outside in the parking lot?” I asked him.
“You got that right haha,” he replied.
“Ohh! Okay let me wind up here and join you shortly,” I replied.
“Take your time please no worries,” he replied.
I finished working on some files then once I was done,I moved out of the office and went straight to the parking lot to meet up with Herman.
I reached his car and he opened the door for me from inside then I sat in the passenger's seat.
I first leaned in for a kiss and tasted his soft lips that I have been yearning to smooch all day long.
“Babes, can you please close your eyes?” He asked after pulling out of the kiss.
“Herman, what are you up to?” I asked while smiling.
“Come on babe please trust me…kindly close your eyes,” he insisted.
“Okay okay,there you go,” I surrendered and closed my eyes.
I heard him reaching out for something in the back seat then later on a pleasing scent touched my nostrils and I wondered what he had brought in front of me then I started sniffing.
“Okay babe,you can now open your eyes please,” he instructed me and I slowly opened my eyes.
What was in front of my eyes was a bouquet and I couldn't believe my eyes because it has been ages ever since I last received one so my eyes started getting watery.
“Thank you so much babe,” I thanked him while sniffing on them and it was a bouquet full of red roses.
“Anything for my baby,” he gave me a kiss on the lips and I also kissed him back.
“This is such a sweet gesture,I'm really humbled,” I complimented.
“Thanks babe for appreciating and I will do more of these since they warm your heart and make you feel special,” he replied.
“Okay,shall we? Today I want to make you feel very special…I have one more surprise for you babe,” he buckled up and before he started the engine,he made a glance at me.
“So where are we heading to?” I asked.
“Come on! If I tell you now then it won't be a surprise so please just do me one favour and sit tight,” he reached out to my cheek and rubbed it with his thumb.
We reached some five star hotel and when we pulled over,he told me to wait inside the car for a few minutes and after like five minutes,he came back and told me to step out and we moved inside the hotel then straight to the elevator.
“Jeez babe,what are you up to?” I anxiously asked.
“Just trust me…at least I won't give you out as a sacrifice or kidnapping so please trust the process,” he replied.
We went all the way to the rooftop which was after forty six floors…this hotel was huge!
When the elevator stopped,we stepped out but my jaw dropped to the floor because this man had everything set out here pretty well and it was a table of two but beautifully decorated with red petals and balloons laid down as a walkway till the table which was surrounded by red petals still but in a heart form.
The chairs were both dressed in white plus the table and everything else around us was red.
“Please take a seat my love,” he pulled out a seat for me and I sat down.
“Babe,this is too much already!” Tears started touching my cheeks.
“I'm here to make it up to you for all the lost time so please bear with me because we are just getting started,” he winked.
“So,what would you like to eat for dinner?” He asked while handing me the menu.
“I will take butter chicken and vegetable rice,” I finally made up my mind after looking through the menu for a few minutes.
“I think I'm going to have the same as yours,” he replied while closing the menu.
He rang the bell on the table and one waiter walked towards our table and he placed our orders then he walked away.
We were there waiting for our food when a man playing Jazz came near our table but stood a few steps away from us while playing.
“Why is he here when there's no crowd?” I asked.
“Because you're his crowd today so enjoy the soothing music for the rest of your evening,” he replied.
“Oh my goodness! You hired that dude to play for only the two of us??” I was dumbfounded because those guys are too damn expensive.
“Babe,if you're worried about the money,please don't go nuts because I am now an established business man who can afford whatever I like, especially spoiling my baby,” he held my hands across the table while making eye contact.
“Thank you so much babe,I really don't take any of this for granted,” I appreciated him.
One of the hotel staff came and brought this jazz guy a seat so that he can play while sitting because the night is still young.
The waiter came back with our food and after serving us,he walked away and we started eating.
The butter chicken was so yummy and I must say,it is the best one I have ever had,every damn ingredient they used was on point.
We finished our dinner and now it was time to hit the road and head back home but I really had one of my best evenings so far in my entire life…imagine having dinner in a cozy environment with soothing music in the background which is played live,I mean who does that! Absolutely no one other than my man!
He dropped me off at my apartment and after kissing him goodnight,I went inside to meet my people who I believe had already slept off because we came back past 11pm.
