Chapter 208 Jason is Very Afraid
After resting for a day that also left her exhausted, Cordelia returned to work at the hospital the next day, just like usual.
The hospital had quite a few patients now, so the two days off per week were mostly taken individually.

After changing into her white coat in the locker room, Cordelia walked to her office.

"Sorry, Dr. Stone. Mr. White has a visitor."

"Didn't you hear Jason's voice just now?"
The caregiver still wore a smile on her face. "Sorry, I didn't hear anything."
Cordelia's expression darkened. Something was off about this caregiver.
Jason was her patient. If anything happened to him at Sunrise Valley Hospital, the hospital would be held responsible.
So with a dark look, she moved the caregiver's hand aside and reached for the door handle.
The moment her hand touched the handle, the door opened from inside.
Julian stood at the doorway, looking down as he wiped his fingers with a handkerchief.
"Ms. Stone."
"What a coincidence."
Seeing Cordelia at the door, Julian greeted her first, an evil smile on his face.
Jason was a regular at the bar, and Julian's family was in the entertainment business, so Cordelia wasn't surprised they knew each other.
"What did you do to my patient?"
Jason's scream earlier had been too terrible, and only Julian and Jason were in the room.
Hearing this, Julian glanced sideways at Jason lying in the hospital bed.
"Mr. White, did I do anything to you?"
Jason was in too much pain to speak now. He just shook his head frantically.
Julian smiled and looked at Cordelia.
"Ms. Stone, you see, Mr. White says I didn't do anything to him. You must have misunderstood."
Cordelia took a breath, pulled her gaze away from Julian, and walked into Jason's room.
Julian didn't leave right away. Instead, he looked at Cordelia and said calmly.
"Ms. Stone, not everyone in this world deserves to be saved by you. Some scumbags just shouldn't be alive."
Cordelia frowned and looked up at Julian, replying with hidden meaning.
"Like Mr. Pierce, for example?"
Hearing this, Julian's expression froze, then he sneered. "Is Ms. Stone regretting saving me back then?"
Cordelia didn't answer Julian's question. She just lowered her head to examine Jason's injuries.
Julian stood there for quite a while.
Jason didn't dare let Cordelia touch him now.
"I want a different doctor."
His voice was strained.
Cordelia frowned and said coldly.
"All the doctors at Sunrise Valley Hospital are busy with their own things. Don't move around."
Jason was breathing heavily, not daring to look at Cordelia.
Cordelia frowned slightly and glanced at him. Evil people will eventually be tortured and subdued by even more evil people.
Jason, this evil man, was still afraid of Julian—this demon.
After Cordelia finished examining Jason, Julian had already left at some point.
The top-tier caregiver had left with Julian too.
Cordelia looked at Jason lying in bed. Without saying much, she gave a few instructions. Just as she was about to leave, Jason grabbed her hand.
"I...I want to transfer hospitals."

When Cordelia's hands touched his body, he felt like he was floating on air.
Before he could finish talking, Julian suddenly grabbed his broken arm and twisted it hard, saying that since he liked staying in the hospital so much, he'd make sure he stayed longer.
Jason had known Julian for a long time.
He had never seen Julian look as terrifying as he did just then. The murderous intent in his eyes was unforgettable.
The other hospital Jason was transferring to came to pick him up quickly.
His condition wasn't very complicated, and it had stabilized. Since he wanted to transfer, Cordelia naturally let him go.
When Jason was leaving, Cordelia went out to speak with the medical staff picking him up.

After he left, the department hallway became quiet.

"Dr. Stone, that Mr. White seems really afraid of you."
