Chapter 359 You Want to Kill Me?

Chapter 359 You Want to Kill Me?

Stephen Watson looked at his two children standing some distance away from him.

Especially Anthony, whose eyes were filled with extreme wariness as he looked at him.

This made him feel somehow displeased.

After a moment of silence, he finally spoke, "Anthony, Rachel, it's been ages. You've both grown so much."

Neither Anthony nor Rachel said anything.

Stephen smiled, "Won't you invite me in? I am your father."

Rachel looked at him in shock, finding it hard to comprehend what was happening.

She had known since childhood that her father left her mother, giving up on the family assets just to be free .

She had gotten used to being a child in a single-parent family. After all, as long as there was money, whether or not she had a dad doesn't matter.

She had never imagined that one day, her long gone father would show up at their door. Looking at the man, she felt both afraid and expectant.

Ten minutes later, the three of them sat on the living room sofa.

Rachel stayed behind Anthony the whole time like a little lamb. She didn't know why Stephen had suddenly appeared, much less what this meant for her and her brother.

For a moment, no one spoke, and the living room was completely silent.

Finally, Anthony looked at Stephen and spoke first, "What are you here for?"

Stephen lit a cigarette, elegantly brought it to his lips for a drag, then slowly began, "According to the original plan, I shouldn't have acknowledged you two. After all, I hate trouble the most. Although you're my children, to me, you're just burdens. Your mom, that crazy woman, deliberately got pregnant with my child back then to marry into the Watson family. I was annoyed by her from beginning to the end, so naturally I have no feelings for you either."

He seemed oblivious to Anthony's darkening expression and Rachel's hurtful look after the initial shock, continuing on his own, "But a month ago, your mom contacted me, saying you were in trouble and hoping I could help. I thought she was using the same old tricks to lure me back, so I spent some time verifying what she said. But by the time I confirmed it, you'd already been completely taken down by the FitzRoy Group."

Stephen smiled, his face showing a cold grin, "You two are my children after all. I couldn't just watch the FitzRoy family wipe you out completely, so I arranged for Anthony to be here, and found a chance to send Rachel over to reunite with you."

At this point, he looked deeply at Anthony with meaningful intent, "So strictly speaking, I've given you another chance at life. I'm both your biological father and the one who saved your lives. And now you're looking at me like this—do you want to kill me?"

He had wanted to ignore Anthony's gaze, but the boy's look was so naked and unguarded, full of coldness and hatred.

Anthony said nothing, just looked away expressionlessly at a plate nearby.

Stephen smiled, "Anthony, I know you have quite a few murders under your belt, and I know you're not afraid of trouble. You're used to killing and bloodshed, but I still hope...."

He leaned forward slightly, looking at Anthony meaningfully, "In front of me, you'd better restrain yourself a bit. After all, I'm not just your father, I'm also your only hope of getting out of this mess."

Anthony's body stiffened. Growing up without a father, with a domineering and crazy mother, he wasn't used to dealing with older men. Combined with Stephen's identity, he didn't know what attitude to take toward him.

His voice came out stiff, "How can you get us out of this mess?"

Seeing his expression soften, Stephen dropped the smile from his face and said seriously, "I warned you over and over before to stay put in this estate. As long as you don't go out, no one can find you. But this time Rachel acted recklessly and almost got taken away by the police. Once the police take her, neither of you will survive. I thought you understood this."

Rachel lowered her head, not daring to speak.

She finally understood why she'd been kicked out of the police car earlier.

It was her legendary father who had intervened.

She spoke softly, "I'm sorry, I know I was wrong... I caused you trouble."

Facing her father after so many years, she didn't know how to act either—distant and polite.

Stephen said, "I came to see you in person this time, first to tell you to be patient and not run off on your own like this again. Second, I'm here to discuss the plan going forward, so you know what to expect."

Both Anthony and Rachel looked up at him.

Stephen was satisfied with their attitude. He flicked his cigarette ash and said, "Anthony, let me ask you first—do you plan to go back to America or stay here?"

Anthony's voice remained stiff as he replied, "Go back home."

Stephen showed an "as expected" expression and nodded, "Alright."

He looked at Anthony, "If you want to go back home to develop your career, then stay here quietly for two years. Don't stick your head out. I'll find a way to get Alexander to give up hunting you down. Once things completely blow over, I'll get you a fake identity and some money. You can go back and start over in any city except Majestic City."

Anthony paused, looking at Stephen, "Get Alexander to give up hunting me down? How?"

With Philip and Becky that he'd captured?

Was he oversimplifying Alexander? Did he really think he could control Alexander with just two people Arabella cared about?

Stephen curved his lips, unwilling to explain further, "You don't need to know that."

Clearly there were other methods besides threatening with those two people.

Anthony didn't think he would deceive him over something like this. After a moment of silence, he said, "But two years is too long."

Stephen frowned, looking at him with displeasure, "Ask yourself honestly—is two years really that long? You need to know what kind of things you've done! I know what you're thinking. The reason I came here specially today is because what Rachel did made me worried. I'm telling you, you absolutely cannot go to your ex-wife's wedding next month."

Anthony's expression changed, "That's my business, it has nothing to do with you!"

Stephen sneered, "Your business? You haven't made some foolproof plan, have you? Let me tell you this—Alexander has stationed people at customs and at every entrance and toll booth in and out of Majestic City to catch you. Also, last week he donated surveillance cameras worth three billion dollars to Majestic City. Know what he's trying to do? He spent that much money just to catch you. The moment you show up, you're a sitting duck!"

Anthony froze, unconsciously standing up, "What? He set up that many traps?"

It wasn't that he hadn't thought Alexander would lie in wait for him. In fact, when making his plans, he'd specifically prepared backup options. But he never imagined Alexander would spend this much to catch him.

If it was really as Stephen said, then he truly couldn't go back. Going back would mean certain death.

But while his reason knew it was impossible, emotionally, he still didn't want to give up.

He never knew before that he had such a strong obsession with Arabella.
