I won't give up on winning her back
**STEVEN WOLKER’S POV**
In fact, before saying anything, I could tell she was a bit wary, but I tried to contain my happiness at having her in my meeting room and enjoying her company for at least a little while.
She looked away, seeming to avoid fixing her eyes on mine, and I did the opposite, not stopping looking at her for a second. It still felt somewhat surreal to me.
"I didn't want to choose this company!" she whispered, but I could hear her.
"You know they're the most qualified for your requirement. You more than anyone."
Then they composed themselves and began to inform me about the management services they needed from this company. I had excellent services to offer, not only to her company but also to her, but I guessed that wasn't relevant now. I explained everything in detail and noticed that she was very nervous about the situation, and I found her even more beautiful with that angry expression.
"Our team is qualified enough to handle the demands of the company. You know that, don't you, Sophie?" I provoked, unable to resist.
She looked at me; I suppressed a laugh at that pout and narrowed eyes. How could she be so beautiful? I had to hold back the emotion and not provoke her again because she was pretty aggressive, as she had been before, and now she must have gotten a little worse.
"Refer to me professionally, please," she demanded.
"Forgive me, ma'am..." I insinuated.
I needed to know if she was still single, but she didn't answer.
"I want the best for my company, the best marketing, the best expansion plan, and especially that the employee team plans in London are flawless," she emphasized.
I nodded completely surprised and proud of the way she was handling her company, very professional and sexy at the same time.
"I will do everything for you... I will do everything to ensure that your company's requirements are successfully met," I assured her.
She understood my initial words, shifted in her chair, and noticed that it also affected her. I couldn't deny that along with love comes an absurd desire, a longing to have her in my arms. I knew why I never managed to have sex with Nathaly precisely because even without memory, there was never any desire. But when it came to Sophie, regardless of anything, that never diminished.
"I think I've spent too much time here," she stated.
She stood up immediately, and her team did the same, a little taken aback by her behavior. I wasn't bothered by this, and I would have loved that meeting to last much longer.
"They will be in charge of dealing with the rest of the negotiations. See you later, Mr. Wolker."
I reached out to her, attempting to feel her touch once more, but she looked at my hand and ignored it. On the one hand, it would be good; I risked pulling her to me and holding her in my arms. But I wasn't satisfied yet; I needed more. This was a unique opportunity.
When they were already out of the room, I ran up to her, who was talking to some people I knew from her old job. I didn't know what to do. I noticed her ignoring me, so that stopped me a bit.
"Sophie. Can we talk?" I try, even though I am embarrassed.
She ignored me as if I were a ghost beside her. Some people looked at my expression and felt embarrassed by the situation. So I stepped back to give her time to talk to the people from her old job, but it didn't take long, and it would be my cue.
I take steps toward her as I see her swaying her hips from side to side toward the elevator; that woman is going to drive me crazy.
But when I speed up to catch up, I see the elevator doors open. Nathaly appears there, and I feel the ground open beneath my feet. Damn it!
It had been so long since she had appeared; she claimed she had had an accident and was missing some memories. I don't know how she says something like that, and I think that after everything that happened, we would believe more of her lies just when I might have had an opportunity.
So Sophie looks at me confused, then she looks ahead again and assumes a firm posture. I hope nothing's wrong, not now. I worked so hard to have these moments.

**NATHALY ROSS'S POV**
Everything was going so well; everything was in order. I managed to manipulate Steven to stay entirely by my side while that fool paid for entering our lives. However, when he recovers this damn memory, everything comes crashing down and ruins my plans.
I was rejected in front of some of his family members, and when there was hatred inside me, I had to show sadness. But I knew he could curse and yell, but deep down, that's love.
The last resort was to pretend I had an accident and lost my memory; I did everything right. I crashed the car, and the doctor, in exchange for a reasonable sum of money, provided a report stating that I had partially lost my memory; I just wasn't sure if it would work.
I arrive at his company, and I try to keep as distant as possible, showing to be sad and depressed; even though he doesn't care, I understand he's confused. When the elevator doors open, I come face to face with that woman right in front of me. Damn, Sophie is back. From what I could see, she was doing very well; she must have found someone very rich to support her, slut, whore.
She stops, and I walk towards her, a low posture to try to give off a vibe of being pitiful but ignoring Steven's gaze.
"Hi, Sophie, I... wanted to tell you that..." I can't finish.
As soon as I stopped in front of her, I felt a slap so firm on my face it burned like embers, and I felt an intense pain in my ear. Damn you, you were going to pay dearly for this. I never forgot that beating; I won't forget this slap now, and certainly not for having so much control over Steven.
"Don't you dare speak to me!" she asserts.
Then she walks away with that air of superiority; the little thing has changed. I put my hand to my face, massaging the spot, and now I'm heading towards Steven.
"Are you going to allow her to do this to me?" the people around were mocking.
"She was very kind to you," he laughs and turns his back.
When I followed him, I wanted to scream, but I still had to maintain a different appearance.
"Steven, can't you feel the slightest bit of pity for me? What did I do? You went through the same thing as me. Have some empathy."
"You go through all this willingly, on the day you show even an ounce of common sense, you'll stop tormenting my life as much as Sophie's."
"But that's not my intention, Steven!" I shout.
He ignored me once again and entered the elevator. When the doors closed, I clenched my fists, trembling with anger at this situation. When I looked back, everyone was staring, and I couldn't keep my composure.
"What's wrong? Bunch of low-class employees," I shout.
They start laughing, and I rush to the elevator to get out of there as soon as possible. I wouldn't give those people any attention.
I needed to have a Plan B; in fact, I had already lost count of how many alternative plans I had. I headed to my apartment, and during the journey, I started to devise what I should do.
I enter, slamming the door shut, and the employee asks if I need anything, but I yell at her to get out of my way. I have no patience for anyone to talk to me; I also took advantage of the journey back and called an investigator. He had done some work when he discovered that girl's shabby life, so this time, it could be more accessible.
"A gentleman is waiting for you outside, Miss Ross," the employee informs me, and I hurriedly leave. I bump into the furniture in the bedroom and curse with all the hatred inside me. After recomposing myself, I reach the living room where the middle-aged man is.
"I want to know everything!" I say eagerly.
"I can't perform miracles, but I managed to find some things."
I sit on the couch, taking the papers he brings and looking at some photos—jewelry promotions, paparazzi photos, and something not even American- while she walks on the street. Just looking at that face made my heart squeeze with disgust. But more was needed.
"I need to know more."
"Sophie took design courses in Los Angeles with the help of the Miller heir. His father is a great bridal designer, and his influence probably made it easy for her to enter the market. She managed to stand out quickly; critics say that her creativity and well-developed pieces made her take off. She lived there all this time, currently bringing a branch to London with the support of the Miller companies," he concludes.
"What does Steven's company have to do with this?" I try to understand.
"They are looking for good management in London."
I listen attentively. Then I stand up and walk around the room as my mind calculates countless things about this new life of hers.
"Is she sleeping with him?" I ask curiously.
I notice the man gets embarrassed as if he didn't do that. I roll my eyes and force a smile.
"Are they having a relationship? Better for her?" I mock.
"I couldn't identify that, but you just called me. I need more time!"
Then he says goodbye, claiming he'll bring more details soon, and I demand that he do it as quickly as possible.
So, now the girl is a businesswoman and managed to hook the Miller heir, a clever little girl. When I was having difficulty getting Steven back, she didn't waste time running after someone else. That could be a positive point because then she would be out of my way, but what complicates things is her having contact with them; it makes it even more complicated. If I mess up this partnership, or...
No!
Nothing I do can separate them except to put an end to this girl. So, I consider all possible hypotheses. For all intents and purposes, believe it or not, I'm the poor memory-impaired girl.
