Chapter 66 SECRET

Chapter 66 SECRET

VIKTOR'S POV

I've stood enough on the sidelines neutral and harmless.

Tonight is no different.

No. I wasn't in Damian's house.

I was far from there,I went to meet my inner man.

Santiago.

If only they knew the world is slipping from under them , quietly, beautifully , into my soft hands.

A soft vibration buzzes in my pocket.

It was Damian.

I just ignored.

My thoughts resumes.

I've been watching everything, now is the time to fill in uncovered holes.

Everything taken from me.

My father.
My mum.
My inner pain.
His selfishness,

Ooh I couldn't mention all.

I walked back to where Santiago sits.

He looked distracted by his phone.

I quickly grabbed it.

Fuck.

Someone sent nudes.

“This is what you are doing.” I tried to look at him,but he just shifts his face to another direction. “You're watching this again.”

This time he stands up and I circle him.

“What do you want Viktor?”

“Isn't it obvious?,i want to see them burn. Aria. Damian. Everyone who thinks they’re untouchable.”

“And Lila?” he asked.

My smile drops for a second. “She’s… useful. For now.”

He turned his head and study me. “You’re getting impatient.”

“Maybe. Or maybe I’m bored.”

He leans closer for a while, then went back and sat on his desk, whispering, “You know everything. I know everything. Yet we’re pretending to be spectators while these fools run around blind. How long are we waiting?”

I face the courtyard again. “Until Damian breaks.”

“He already broke,” he snaps. “That stupid wife of his believed Lila’s poison. She accused him of murder. What more do you need?”

I shake my head. “Damian is hard to destroy. Hurt him emotionally? He bleeds but recovers. Shame him publicly? He grows teeth. You want him dead. I want him ruined.”

“And Aria?” he asks. “She’s the easiest piece.”

My jaw tightens a little , not because I care, but because Aria is the pivot point. Everything revolves around what happens to her.

And she doesn’t even know it.

“She’s useful,” I say. “Her pain destabilizes Damian. Her fear weakens his judgment. Her confusion… makes her predictable.”

Santiago hums. “So what now?”

“We let the tension build,” I reply. “Let Adrian think he’s gaining ground. Let Lila spiral in her paranoia. Let Aria grow desperate for truth. And Damian?”
I pause, watching him through the window.
“He’ll run himself into the ground trying to protect what’s already slipping away.”

He laughs. “You’re cruel.”

“I learned from the best.”

“Your uncle?” he guesses.

My smile fades. “Don’t mention him.”

He studies me, eyes narrowing. “You still haven’t told me why you hate Damian so much. What did he do to you?”

“What didn’t he do?” I reply coolly.

His curiosity burns, but he knows better than to push.

“So what was their lastest discovery?” I asked him.

“Someone has been killed.” He confessed.

Curiosity grew deep in me.

“Who, and why?”

“It's Blade. He tried to sell us out. I have been forgetting that he worked with Damian,we recently found out that he tried to leak our secret.” He told me.

“Who killed him?” I ask.

“ I did?” He answered.

“Good. But trust no one, they might turn against you in the end.” I advised him.

He tries to switch the topic. “So I heard that Aria isn't home?”

“She wouldn't? Hurt by the man she's loving. Betrayed, stabbed in the back. What do you expect of her.” I replied,my head facing downward.

“I'll do worse if I was her.” He said.
“But where is she now?”

“Downtown.” I answered.

“She's gotten a new boyfriend already?”

“She hardly falls for someone.” I replied.
“I heard she's learning a skill. Coding.”

“I admire her.”

“Me too.”

“She’ll lead us to the truth,” he said.

“What truth?” I pressed.

“The one Damian buried.”

My eyes spark. “You mean the Caleb truth?”

He waved me off. “Not that one. A different one. The real one.”

I look intrigued. “You know something the rest of us don’t.”

“Yes,” he reply simply. “And when it comes out, Damian will choke on it.”

The door behind us swings open.

Adrian storms out, anger in every step. “Santiago. We need to talk.”

I hide my amusement. “You look stressed, Adrian.”

“Viktor.” His mouth were widely open.

“You’re missing something.”

His eyes narrow. “You think I don’t know what’s happening?”

“I think you’re focused on the wrong enemy.”

Santiago snorts. “He’s always focused on the wrong enemy.”

Adrian glares at me. “If you know something, say it.”

I step closer, lowering my voice.

“There’s someone in Damian’s inner circle you’re overlooking.”

“Who?”

“You’ll know soon.”

He clenches his jaw. “This is not the time for riddles…”

Adrian hesitates, then spits, “If something happens to me..”

“Save your threats,” I say flatly. “I don’t answer to you.”

He storms off, slamming the door. Santiago bursts into laughter.

“You enjoy pissing them off,” he says.

I shrug. “It’s effortless.”

He looks at me with a spark of suspicion. “Tell me something, Victor… are you sure you want Aria alive?”

“Very sure,” I respond. “Dead pieces don’t move the board.”

“And Lila?”

“Lila thinks she’s a queen. She’s a pawn. She just hasn’t realized it.”

“And me?”

I finally look at her, eyes steady. “You,.. are a knife.”

He smiled. “Sharp?”

“Sharp.and dangerous.”

He leans closer, whispering, “Then use me.”

I step away, breaking the tension. “Not yet. We need patience.”

“I hate patience,” he muttered.

I smirked. “That’s why I lead, and you follow.”

“You’re something else, Victor.”

“Yes,” I said. “And that’s why I always win.”

“And Damian?” he asked.

“He’ll chase her?”

“And then?”

“Then everything they think they know… will fall apart.”

He shivered.

“Victor,” he whispers, “you’re going to destroy them.”

“No,” I correct calmly.
“I’m going to reshape them.”

He steps closer. “And when the board breaks? When the pieces fall?”

I turn, watching him.

“Then,… they’ll finally understand the truth.”

“And what truth is that?”

I look at him.

“That I was never in the shadows.”

I smiled.

“I am the shadow.”
