Chapter 252 - Christmas gift - mdtres
Shirly
The boy was looking at Vero, and she was stroking his cheek.
"Can I send half of my presents to my best friend?"
"They're yours, you can do whatever you want with them. But I promise to send him a gift from us. On the twenty-sixth, we'll buy them and send them."
She kissed him on the forehead. Aníbal was trying to be tough and not cry, he squeezed my hand.
"Thank you, Gastón, for reminding me of God's greatness. Thank you for showing me that I can be more generous." She kissed his hand.
"Thank you, kind lady."
"To you, my gallant prince." Vero stood up, and we were all watching them. "Do you see the beauty of Christmas? Gastón, I promise that with my best friend who leaves on the night of the twenty-sixth, we'll send all the details for your best friend and all your friends."
The boy flashed his bright white teeth. He puffed out his chest, just like Aníbal usually does. While they continued handing out gifts, I unwrapped my husband's present. Inside was an envelope with some papers. When I looked at him, he was smiling from the corner of his mouth. I read them and they were the deeds to some good hectares of land that would be called El Encanto. I covered my mouth.
"They're yours, everything I work for will be for you, Encanto. I'll also take care of my sister, but you are my wife, the one who goes out of her way to make me happy."
"Aníbal," I whispered.
"I love you, and if I die, I'll be waiting for you on the other side of death, I'll be in the front row to receive you. But only follow me to the beyond when our children are well, and if you get involved with another man, I'll haunt you. When you get the urge, use a vibrator." I covered my face.
"You were speaking so beautifully, why did you ruin it like that?"
"That's why you love this black man."
"I don't love you, I idolize you." We kissed.

Diana
At midnight, the families hugged us, I hadn't stopped crying, the pregnancy made me emotional. Augusto brought all the discomforts. My hip hurt, but I didn't want to ruin such a special moment. My Beast was kissing Isaac, who had fallen asleep. He had already put away the pile of gifts we exchanged, no lie, there were about ten per person and the boy received many more. From us, there were about six gifts. Sharing was precious.
"Love, help me up, I want to go to the bathroom."
"Again? You've got the urge."
He put the boy in the stroller to make him more comfortable and then helped me up. With my awkward walk, I headed to the bathroom, peed, but it felt like a lot. As I stood up, I felt a sharp pain, my first contraction. I came out of the bathroom, and as if my husband sensed it, he was waiting in the hallway.
"I was about to come in and get you." Another contraction hit, and I groaned. "Sweetie, what's wrong?"
I felt a horrible pain, a warm liquid started to run down my legs, and my hips felt like they were splitting apart, as if I had peed again. I screamed. My husband picked me up and, with an unflappable attitude, walked quickly.
"Dr. Jones!" Water with a different smell was falling on the floor. At that moment, the doctor realized.
"We won't make it to the hospital, her water broke. Take her to a room." Mrs. Josefina also stood up.
"Did you bring the baby's bag?"
"Yes."
My husband looked at Simón, and he took the car keys from my husband's pants. While my husband took the stairs two at a time, Simón went to get the bag and handed it to Mrs. Josefina, who followed the doctor. We entered what was our bedroom when we arrived at the ranch. He laid me on the bed, and the doctor spread my legs.
"You're very dilated, this baby isn't waiting for the ambulance."
"Our children have a knack for being born everywhere except a hospital."
I burst out laughing. Mrs. Josefina asked for some things, and soon it was just the four of us in the room.
"Augusto is coming. Diana, push when you feel the contraction!"
Giving birth was the most painful thing in the world, a blessed pain, which is why our children hurt us so much. It wasn't just the connection created during gestation; it was everything that came with their birth.
"You’re strong, Little One, we’ve done this before."
Our eyes met, I clung to his hand, and pressed my nose against Miguel's neck, just like that night when my twins were born. His scent calmed me, it was what I needed to endure any adversity. He kept talking while I focused on pushing, and I rested when the cry of my son filled the room.
"He’s beautiful, my son, thank you." When I looked at him, I saw his eyes were wet. "Yes, you messed me up more. I love you."
The doctor placed my second son on my chest. He was the most beautiful little thing in the world, the proof of our love combined. I kissed his little head.
"Miguel, look, meet your son."
As they handed our son to his father, tears fell from a man who was a Beast, cold-blooded in killing, calculating in extreme situations, an adrenaline lover, and now he cried while holding his son.
"Diana, push once more, the ambulance is on its way, we need to check both of you."
"Little One, thank you for my Christmas gift." I smiled.
The ambulance arrived when I was changed and resting in bed, feeding my baby. Everyone had already seen the new family member. When they asked Miguel to step out so they could clean me, he returned with Isaac.
"Look, champ, your little brother is here."
They sat beside the bed. After that, each family member came in to meet Augusto García. An hour later, the ambulance arrived, not called urgently, and the gathering continued. Inés stayed with Isaac while my husband escorted the vehicle that took us. For a couple of hours, we were checked, both me and my baby, then we moved to a room, and minutes later, Miguel came in. His kiss filled my soul.
"I love Isaac, and I don't want you to think there will be a difference, but it feels incredibly amazing to have my own child. I’ll never bring this up again. I hope you understand." I nodded. He looked at his son sleeping, caressed his cheek as he did with Isaac. "I would give my life for the three of you without thinking twice, thank you for coming into my life and transforming it into daily little beauties. Now we just need our little girl."
"Did I just give birth and you’re already asking for another?"
"The girl, and I won’t rest until a little one is born."
"I’ll pray that the next one is a girl, I don’t want more than three kids. If the girl is born, I’ll get surgery."
"Is that what you want? I can get a vasectomy."
"Alright, that sounds good."
"If the girl is born." I laughed. "Rest, love, I’ll be here taking care of you. Isaac fell asleep, cuddled with Grandma. We were invited for lunch tomorrow, but they understand your condition, they only need me at noon."
"The doctor said I’ll be discharged in the morning, everything went perfectly. Is something wrong?"
"I’ve noticed Inés acting strange for days, I’m not the only one who thinks so. We’ve talked, and Roland asked her, and she just says we’ll know soon. Honestly, I don’t like that."
"Maybe she’s in love."
"Do you think so? She wouldn’t act mysteriously for that."
"With seven kids and your history, if an eighth man shows up with the slightest intention of taking her away because he wants to marry her... I’d be worried."
"My girl isn’t going anywhere with anyone, if a scoundrel shows up..."
"You see."
I commented smiling, already feeling sleepy. Miguel started to stroke my hair, and I fell asleep.
