Chapter 76

With a newfound sense of determination, Anna got up from her bed and made her way to Serena’s house. She knew that Serena would be there, knew that this was her chance to finally confront her once and for all. And as she stood on the doorstep, her heart pounding in her chest, Anna knew that this would be a day that neither of them would ever forget.

As she knocked on the door, Serena answered with a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. Anna could see the suspicion lurking behind those fake pleasantries, could see the tension in Serena’s body as she stood before her. And in that moment, Anna knew that this was her chance to finally put an end to the charade.

“Serena, we need to talk,” Anna said, her voice steely and determined. Serena’s smile faltered, a flicker of fear appearing in her eyes. Anna stepped forward, closing the gap between them until she was mere inches away from Serena’s face.

“I know what you’re doing, Serena,” Anna said, her voice low and menacing. “I know that you’re trying to turn Victoria against me, trying to poison her mind with your lies.”

Serena’s eyes widened in shock, her facade slipping away to reveal the fear and uncertainty beneath. Anna could see the panic in her eyes, could see the realization dawning on her that her suspicions had been right all along.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Anna,” Serena stammered, her voice trembling. “I thought we were friends, I thought we could trust each other.”

Anna’s laugh was cold and humorless. “Trust each other? Please, Serena. You’ve been watching me like a hawk since the day we met. You’ve been waiting for the right moment to pounce, to expose me for what I truly am.”

Serena’s face paled, her fear turning to anger. “And what are you, Anna? What are you hiding from us?”

Anna’s smile was a dangerous glint in her eyes. “Oh, you’ll see soon enough, Serena. You’ll see the monster that’s been lurking beneath the surface, waiting to be unleashed.”

And with that, Anna turned on her heel and marched out of Serena's s house, leaving a stunned and shaken Serena in her wake. She knew that this was just the beginning, knew that the storm she had been brewing for so long was about to break free in a violent and unpredictable fury.

As she walked away, a twisted smile played on Anna’s lips. She was no longer afraid of Serena, no longer afraid of the suspicions that had been haunting her for weeks. She was ready to show the world who she truly was, ready to embrace the darkness that had long been simmering within her.

And as the storm clouds gathered overhead, Anna knew that the time for hiding was over. The time for pretending to be someone she wasn’t was gone. It was time for the real Anna to step out of the shadows and into the light, ready to face whatever consequences awaited her.

But one thing was for certain – Serena would never see her coming. And when the storm finally broke, it would be too late for anyone to stop her. The monster had been unleashed, and nothing could stand in its way.

After Anna left Serena couldn't believe what had just happened? “was Anna pretending to forgive her just a few ago? Was it because Victoria was there?” she felt a chill run down her spine. Clearly Anna's true colours were begining to show.

Serena felt her heart racing as she tried calling Victoria's phone for the fifth time. Each time, it went straight to voicemail. She paced back and forth in her living room, a sense of dread washing over her. She couldn't shake the image of Anna's terrifying expression from her mind.

Just hours earlier, Serena had coffee with Victoria.Victoria had looked hurt and confused, but after a long conversation, they had finally come to an understanding. Victoria had forgiven Serena and they had hugged it out, promising to stick together no matter what.

But now, with Victoria unreachable and Anna's confrontation, Serena's fears were getting the best of her. She couldn't shake the feeling that Anna was up to something sinister, that she was going to turn Victoria against her and destroy their newly forged bond.

Serena sighed as she checked the time on her phone. It was already past midnight and she still hadn't heard from her best friend, Victoria. She had been trying to reach her all evening, but her calls went straight to voicemail. Serena couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.

As Serena was about to leave the house and go to Victoria's house she met Ethan at the door. She went back inside the house and told him that she thought something weird was going on , she didn't even have time to explain or tell Ethan about Anna's confrontation.

“I don't think she's in trouble, maybe she just forgot to charge her phone, don't worry yourself so much”, Ethan said.

Serena shook her head, feeling a knot of worry forming in her stomach. "No, I've been trying to reach her all night. Her phone goes straight to voicemail, she always charges her phone. I'm starting to get really worried."

Ethan's expression darkened, and Serena could see the worry mirrored in his eyes. "I'll call Christian,"

Serena nodded, grateful for Ethan's quick thinking. She watched as he dialed Christian's number, pacing back and forth in the hallway. After a few moments, Ethan hung up the phone and turned to Serena, his face pale.
