CHAPTER 22

The fake smile that has been displaying on my face while I have been receiving a lot of congratulations from our guests washed away, the moment that I perceived her scent, it was annoying to know that she could not obey my commands, the way, Alison did.

I had a reason for telling her not to attend my coronation party, I was sure that she was forced to be here by my sister, that girl was becoming a bad influence to her and very soon, I will break up their friendship.

I could not deny the fact that she caught my attention with how gorgeous, she was looking, if only she was not a weakling, I would have announced her as my Luna tonight.

A strong Alpha with a weak Luna, nope, I never wanted to be in such situation.

I had to keep my dad from seeing her before he would gain suspicion, he would literally force me to accept her and that is the last thing that I wanted.

‘’Babe, you have been staring at Avery ever since she walked in.’’ Alison pointed out.

I rolled my eyes and scoffed before replying her, ‘’Why on Earth would you think that she would be the center of attraction tonight? I was staring at my sister, not her.’’

‘’Oh, okay.’’ She mouthed.

‘’You really need to stop degrading me, I would never settle for that.’’ I stated and I was not lying when I said that.

‘’I am so sorry, babe.’’ She instantly apologized before I walked out on her.

She was beginning to irritate me, these days, I was only sticking around, so, that she would go psychotic again and start using dark magic, I would be at fault for that.

I walked to meet my parents and a broad smile was on my mum’s face but y dad just had an indifferent look as always.

‘’You are finally going to lead a pack, my boy. You are all grown up now, I am so proud of you.’’ She stated as she caressed my face.

I was not sure of the words to say, so, I only smiled back at her.

‘’Uh, son. Alpha Gray’s daughter seemed to have caught your attention when she walked in with your sister, is there something that you are not telling us?’’ She asked me.

Fortunately, for me, she did not use mind control on me to tell her the truth, that would have ended up in a very bad way.

‘’Yeah, I have never seen you staring at a girl like that, not even that witch, Alison.’’ My father asserted in addition.

‘’There is nothing to tell, she is my roommate, if she was my mate, I would have known, this is not the first time that we are seeing each other, besides, I was looking at Ashley, not her.’’ I explained, hoping that they would get off my back.

My mother placed her hand on my chest, ‘’Are you sure?’’

I let out a sigh and replied, ‘’Yes, why would I lie?’’

‘’I don’t know, maybe because she is a weakling and you don’t want us to find out that she might be your Luna, you do know that there are consequences to this, right?’’ The Lycan answered me.

‘’Dad, you don’t need to rain curses on me, I am going to have a strong mate and not that, please.’’ I commented.

My mum hit me, gently, ‘’That is a mean thing to say, everybody went through the stage of weakness, even I did, having a weak mate is not a bad thing, that is why her father sent her to the academy.’’

‘’Yeah, I know your story of how dad treated you like nothing...’’

He instantly cut me short of my statement, ‘’That is why I do not want my son to make the same mistake that I did.’’

‘’Don’t worry, I have not found my mate yet and if I do, you guys would be first that I would tell, besides, I do not want Alison as a Luna, we are on the same page.’’

That statement of mine was enough to calm them down for now, I needed to get Avery out of here before she makes a mistake that I would have to suffer for it.

I could not find her in the crowd again and she was not with my sister, I immediately traced her by her scent and the same reason why I needed her to stay back at school had finally caught up with her.

A part of me wanted to leave and make her suffer in the hands of her brother but at the same time, I could not stand the sight of her getting bullied by her own blood.

I have heard stories of Liam and I made sure that I would never have to deal with him when I become an Alpha, he was annoying, irritating and proud, I always hated the fact that people would tag our personalities to be like him but I was far better.

I always protected my younger sister even when she went through a weak phase that did not last up to a month since she had our father’s blood in her but he did not, he would always leave bruises on her and that was why I did not like her, she could not stand up for herself all these years, she was busy waiting for a savior to help her out, so, that she would fall in love with him as if this was some sort of Disney romance.

He needed to be thrown out of my party but that would make his dad mad at my father and then, it would fall back at me.

There was no way that I would be able to protect her, I would be busy throughout the night, I would punish her for disobeying me by using Alison against her.

Having me in her life was a nightmare that she wished that she would wake up from but that would never be possible, the goddess cursed me with her and I was not going to take it easy on her .
