CHAPTER 21

I was still on the floor, shedding tears when the door flung open to reveal Ashley standing there in shock, I instantly sniffed and wiped my tears, trying to put on a happy face but it was too late because she had seen everything, she rushed to my side to question.

‘’Ree, what happened to you? I have been looking for you all over the place, I was worried sick that you had gotten lost, why the tears? Who did this to you?’’ She threw so many questions at me and it made me cry even more.

I was definitely not going to tell her about the role that her brother played in the whole situation, I would not want her to get angry on his big day.

‘’Nothing.’’ I answered her.

She did not buy such response at all, ‘’What do you mean by nothing? Here, you are here crying and you are telling me, nothing. You cannot be serious now, tell me, please.’’

I sucked in a deep breath and opened my mouth to speak, ‘’I met my brother tonight and he said a lot of mean things to me.’’

‘’He called me names and almost hit me but your brother stopped him.’’ I revealed.

She stared at me with a raised brow, ‘’He did? Wow, a lot sure did happen in my absence.’’

‘’You should not be crying, I am sure that Lex fought for his roommate, that should make you at least happy.’’ She pointed out.

If only that she knew the entire truth, she would not be saying that.

‘’There is no reason to be glad, Lee. His words are haunting me, he has ruined my night for me, I just want to go home now, there is no point of staying in this place, I need to rest.’’ I stated as I stood up.

‘’What? You cannot leave, just like that. The event has not started yet, I would be bored without you, you cannot leave me alone, at least, stay for him and I.’’ She pleaded.

She needed to understand that he did not want me here.

‘’I am sorry, I can’t. Besides, he has Alison by his side, he does not need me.’’ I asserted in a sad tone.

‘’What about me? Don’t you care? In fact, you are not leaving, you have to obey the princess.’’ She told me in a serious tone.

She was making things hard for me, I was trying my possible best not to break down and confess to her that he was my mate.

‘’Ashley, please. Liam might still be around and I do not want to face further embarrassment. Xander would hate me for creating a scene in his coronation.’’ I tried to make her see reasons but she was blind to it.

‘’Nothing like that would happen, I would make sure of it, besides, you would be with me, who would dare to come and insult you in my presence?’’ She questioned.

‘’Her mate, your brother.’’ Kira answered her.

I was caught between the deep blue sea and the Devil whom was Alexander.

I had no other choice than to save my only friendship and suffer the consequences later, besides, he had always wanted Alison, there was no hope for me, he could as well announce her as his Luna.

As long as I had Ashley, I had a chance of happiness, if it was possible to move out and into her room, I would.

If I decided to obey Lex, Ashley would be angry and might never speak with me again, he would still make my life a living hell.

I let out a sigh before stating, ‘’Fine, let’s go, the guests must be waiting for the Alpha’s sister, you do not want to keep them waiting.’’

I attempted to leave when she pulled me back, ‘’Not so fast, you have ruined my masterpiece with your tears, sit down, let me retouch the makeup and don’t you dare cry again.’’

I giggled because she was quite funny with her threats.

I did as she taught me and she did her magic, I was back to looking beautiful as ever.

We both walked out of the room back to the ball room and the event had already started.

I tried to hide my face from him but that was not possible as our eyes locked as soon as we got into the room, he had already perceived my scent anyways.

He shot me a very deadly glare that frightened me, I would definitely be a goner once this was over.

He was seated on his throne as his future beta, Tyler made his speech before going to sit down after a round of applause, he did not take his eyes off me and I prayed that Alison would not catch him staring, the last thing that I wanted was a crazy witch after my life.

The royal music started to play as his father took the crown from the royal glass case and walked to place it on his head as the announcer spoke.

‘’You, Alexander Ethan, the son of Lycan Ethan are hereby the Alpha of Black Moon Pack.’’ He chanted after Lex finished reciting his oath.

The crown was placed on his head and his pack members howled except me.

Another round of applause was made for him and his Beta, I was really happy for him.

His mother had noticed the staring contest that had been going on between us, I immediately broke it and looked elsewhere like it was so important, it was frustrating not to be able to stare into his green orbs, they were so alluring.

I could get hypnotized by them, he was a half wizard, anyways.

Alison walked to hug him and placed a kiss on his lips, getting a response from the crowd causing her to blush, I gave a fake smile, acting unphased but his mother had already sensed something off.

‘’I would like to announce a special person in my life as my Luna.’’ He voiced out and my heart started pounding so fast that I feared that it might escape my rib cage.

He was not playing when he told me that he would choose her.
