FIFTY NINE

Someone was calling my name, she was calling me while tapping my cheeks. I wanted to open my eyes but I can't. I couldn't move either as I only felt pain in my body. It was as if I had been fighting with a lot of monsters. My body feels so heavy that I can finally recognize Wayang's voice. It was her trying to wake me up.

I slowly moved my fingers and slowly opened my eyes and saw Wayang staring at me worriedly. She let out a sigh seeing me looking at her now. "I am glad that you are awake. I taught— I mean we thought we would lose you."

I can't speak, I just keep on staring at her and look around. I am now in my room. Just what happened after I met up with Kalsey? I wanted to ask this but my body is exhausted and even trying to open my mouth is now difficult to do.

"Rest first, you need your energy. We will talk again once you wake up." After she said that, I slowly closed my eyes and started sleeping again. I am hoping after I sleep, I can feel my body now. I wanted to ask Wayang so many things after this.

I could hear purring, probably this is Nini. I opened my eyes and saw her looking at me causing me to smile widely. I look around but there is no one around. I got up and touched my head when I felt something that made me feel dizzy.

"What happened? My head aches so much," I muttered as I kept on looking around then looked at Nini. "Do you know where Wayang is, Nini? Can you call her for me?"

She meowed at me indicating that she said yes. I immediately stood up and went to the table near me to fetch some water and drink it. I could feel my tummy making a sound. I am hungry, I wonder how many hours has been after that thing? Those memories that I have seen in my dream are still here in my mind. I cannot forget it and also the pain that I have felt and the longing feeling for my parents. I badly want to touch and see them again but I know it won't happen again.

Suddenly, I saw Wayang standing in front of me. I guess she teleported herself here. She was looking at me worriedly and then began to rush running towards me. "Are you okay now? We were worried sick of you! You have been sleeping for almost two days, Charlotte!" My eyes widen after hearing that.

"I slept for almost two days? What just happened to me, Wayang? The memories that I have in my head were that I followed something, it was a voice. But after that scene, I can't remember anything anymore even a bit of it. I just woke up feeling my body so heavy."

"Okay okay, calm down. Let us talk about this on the couch there are so many things that I will say to you. Do you want me to explain it to you from the start?" I quickly nodded my head in response.

We are now on the couch sitting while Nini is sleeping on my lap. Wayang explained to me everything in detail. I didn't Karsen was also there, he saved me and protected me from Kalsey. That means he probably knew everything now. Is he mad that I kept it as a secret to him? I am afraid of his response if ever I will tell him everything. Will he also believe my story?

"So, Karsen finally met Kalsey? What happened? Did she do anything to him?"

"He is fine, he was protecting you. Thanks to him he was able to injure Kalsey causing me to be able to save you both and Nini. If not, you two would probably die now. Her power is slowly increasing and I guess it is because your time is close. What I meant by that, your immortality is now slowly decreasing and you can now die if someone kills you. I guess that is why we haven't sensed her for years it is because she has used her power to you out of anger.

"You need to do what I told you, Charlotte. If not, it will be over for you. Kalsey will be able to take Karsen on her own and you will die without fighting for the person you love again. Do you want to die in regrets, Charlotte?"

I pressed my lips after she said that. I don't know what to do. I am afraid Karsen will be killed. "I know you are just protecting Karsen but I am afraid that if Kalsey's power grows again, she will just make Karsen suffer. She was planning on controlling Karsen."

"Control?"

"Yes, Karsen is against her wicked schemes. I have heard their conversation. Kalsey and that woman in this time, she will try to make him immortal too like you so the two of them can be together forever."

That is ridiculous! How could she plan something like that? Immortality is not a joke. You will suffer from eternal pain in this world. At first, it was fine with me, but after living in this world for so long, I now understand the boredom and suffering that come with it. It is a very difficult way of life.

"Where is Karsen now by the way?"

I saw Wayang look down and it seemed that she was having thoughts about whether to tell me what I needed to know or not. It was the first time that I saw her like that.

"Well about that, I needed to say sorry for telling him some of the details about you. He was forcing me and I didn't know what to do so I just decided to tell to him. He is so worried." I don't mind if she really does tell him about me.

"And what happened?"

"He's mad, Charlotte."
