Chapter 231

Chapter 231

As Ollie, the photographer, spoke, his face turned pale, and his eyes flickered with unmistakable fear.

He slowly turned his head to look at the house swallowed by the night, with a chill wind blowing through. Clenching his teeth to stop them from chattering, he forced out a sentence. "This place... is definitely haunted."

The moment Ollie finished speaking, Charles felt a chill crawl up his spine, making his hair stand on end.

"We shouldn't stay here long. Let's finish shooting as fast as we can and get out of here. Talk to Ralph and see if we can wrap this up in two days instead of five. The sooner we finish, the sooner we can leave this creepy place."

After giving these instructions to Charles, Ollie lowered his head and began adjusting his camera with intense focus.

The western mountains were tinged with a golden hue, and the temperature started to drop. They planned to complete the shoot during the brief twilight, capturing the blue-toned atmosphere.

As the last rays of the sun dipped into the valley, Ralph gathered everyone to set up the scene. "Is everyone ready? We're about to start shooting the first scene!

"Grab your props and get into your explorer costumes. Let's go over the script one last time!"

"Yes, stand on the path leading to the house. I'll signal you from the crumbling wall on the east side of the house. When I give the signal, start walking towards the house!"

"Any questions?"

Everyone shook their heads, indicating they were ready to start.

Ralph excitedly ran to the front door of the house, climbed up the shaky wall on the east side, raised his arm, and shouted to Ollie, "Is the camera ready?"

"Camera's ready!" Ollie responded loudly.

"Action!" Ralph signaled, and the group began to move towards the house in a scattered formation.

They had memorized the script by heart, not out of a love for acting, but because their lives depended on it. They had to give it their all and remember everything in the shortest time possible.

The sun had completely hidden in the valley, and the forest was dimly lit. The camera followed the group as they acted out the scene with laughter and chatter, but in reality, everyone was on edge.

However, as they reached the front of the house, a sudden, sharp scream from Ollie pierced the air, filled with terror. "There's a ghost—!"

Everyone whipped around to see Ollie twisted in a bizarre posture, clutching his camera tightly.

It was now dark, and there was some distance between the actors and Ollie, making it hard to see what was happening on his end.

But those with good night vision noticed that Ollie's camera was no longer focused on the group but aimed at the crumbling wall on the east side of the old house.

He kept looking up from the viewfinder, then bending down to peer through it again, repeating this strange action about ten times before he screamed towards the group, "Don't go any further! Turn back! Turn back!!"

As soon as he finished shouting, he stumbled and bolted down the mountain, disappearing into the night.

Ollie's bizarre reaction threw everyone into a panic. Even with their numbers, they couldn't shake off the fear gripping their hearts.

The fifteen of them huddled together, but the eerie wind in the forest kept them on edge.

What did Ollie see? What scared him so badly? Should they keep going or turn back?
