I Want To Contest

Parker’s POV

 I ended the call and stood on my feet, what exactly is going on with Asher?

I took my seat and racked my brains around it but I still couldn’t t get anything.

Maybe it’s best I relax and think of other things, after all, I don’t really have much to do today.

I closed my eyes for a few seconds then I saw Jane looking at me and telling me how she misses me so much, tears left my eyes only to wake up and see my brother Asher trying to wake me up.

“Are you crying, bro? did something happen?” He asked feeling all concerned but I just sat properly saying,” Not at all, how long have you been here?”

“Not quite long.”

“Okay, so what do you plan on doing because you invited everyone for lunch,” I added.

“I know you will want to find out about every detail, well just be patient, during lunch, we are going to have the conversation.” He said.

“Okay then, so let’s get going right?”

“Sure.”

“After you,” I said to him and I tried reaching Cali by calling her phone desk but no response.

She wasn’t even present in her office so where on earth is she? I really do not want to waste my brother's time and the others so when I return I will question her whereabouts and I hope she has an excuse prepared already.

We arrived at the restaurant where we planned on having lunch, I noticed Edward was already present doing the most which flirting with his fans and giving them their autograph.

“Place your dog in order,” I said to Asher, he knows how much I dislike Edward but since he is closer to him.

“Just let him be.” He added.

We took our seats and Edward said out of excitement, “Guess who will have here, my number one army officer and successful billionaire, the leader of our crew and sweet brother.”

“Can you just shut up?” I yelled at him and he kept calm.

“Girls, leave us, we guys have something important to discuss,” Asher added.

“Call me Edward.”

“Handsome don’t forget to say hi.”  The bitches said out and I was just disgusted by their presence, Casper came in as well and we were all complete at the table so it was time to get to business fully.

“Hello everyone, I hope I didn’t keep you all waiting for me.”

“Not at all, since we are here, let’s order something to eat, waiter, over here,” Asher said and immediately the waiter came to us showing us the menu.

Each of us ordered a different meal and we started eating together. At first, they were talking about some of the girls they had fun with and blah blah blah.

I just kept calm and boom, they finally attacked me saying, “Are you not going to fuck Angela? You know how that girl is crazy over you.” Edward added.

“Can we go straight to the reason we are all here? I really have other schedules to meet up with after lunch break.” I added trying to avoid so many conversations.

“I heard our mother is planning to get you a Wife, you better try to date someone so as to avoid such a thing from taking place.”

I choked on my food when I heard the statement, I really couldn’t believe my mom, set up a wife for me. That is crazy, I will never allow that to happen, why will she go through such stress just to make sure I get married?

“No way, I will never allow that to happen, I will get a woman myself and I don’t need another person to search for one for me, I am not a baby,” I added.

“Tell that to mom because they will be returning to Nigeria very soon and you know what that means,” Asher added.

“I will remind you, they will never give up until you finally do what they want,” Casper added.

“I will find my wife myself and that’s on period, I will get someone before they return.”

“We both know you are joking but anyway, let’s save that gist for later but right now there is something else we should talk about, the reason I called us all together.” Asher finally got our attention and we nodded.

“So man, what is the plan? Guess you are not in danger like the one we were once in years ago.” Edward said and I noticed the look on their faces.

“Can you just let go?” Asher yelled.

“What is going on? Did something happen years ago?” I asked trying to know what happened years ago, I hate being in the dark.

“Nothing serious, Edward is just playing with words, so Asher talk to us, what is the plan?” Casper asked and Edward gave an evil smirk.

“Okay then,l I need you all support because I will be contesting as a governor in the next upcoming election, I need you all support and most especially I don’t want you all getting in a mess that might ruin my chances.”

“What???” I asked. There is no way I will let him do that, being a governor comes with so many responsibilities and he knows that as well, we are already successful and his business is also doing well,so why does he want to run as a governor? 

"Are you high or something?" Casper asked him.

"No, I am okay and I didn't take any alcohol when coming here so I am in my right senses." He replied.

"So why on earth are you going to run for the seat of a governor?" I asked again.

"Maybe he wants to be at the top," Edward added and it was annoying.

"Well, it has always been my dream to become a governor someday, I guess the time is now so I beg of you, avoid anything leading to a scandal that can ruin my chances."

"Well since it makes you happy, then I will support you but make sure your hands are clean or I kill you myself." He laughed and we talked more.
