After he asked me those words, I didn't see him anymore. It's not that I'm looking for him, but I just want to know about our deal. Is it void or still on going and he's just on hiatus? I pouted and looked at my papers on the table. I was in my little office in my parents' house, which I renovated and was still at work.
I couldn't focus on my papers since I ended up thinking about what I shouldn't. Argh! I finished as a business manager, so I want to apply to the municipality. Well, they might hire me if they want to. I'm a college graduate Cum Laude, aside from it I also have a lot of experience in business. Even if I give my full attention to the papers in front of me, they become blank in my sight.
I sighed heavily, trying to put all my heed in my inner peace. I'll always end up with the thought of him and his question. Did he purposely ask me that so he could run in my mind and I wouldn’t let slip on him? How could he ask me if I still like Roux? That I was seducing him? After what he did to me? I have no intention of being with the man who turned me in; this kind of being. Roux is part of my disquieting past, so I'm having a vicious time regaining my reliance on him. And no matter what he avowed, it's all over with us; nothing comes between us.
He's the reason why I miscarried, the reason why I became miserable, and the reason why I am here. So what's the point of everything if I'll just give in to him? I won't hurt myself anymore. I will get revenge; that's what I'm sure I'll do, whatever it takes. Raven's question came back to haunt me; it still lingers in my mind.
"Why did he ask me that?" I asked myself. I don't have any affection that I've felt towards the guy who killed my child.
Then, why do you remain silent instead of defending yourself that night? My mind scolded me. I don't know; I suddenly felt cold when he asked me that. I was too stunned.
I took another deep breath and stood up. I needed some fresh air. I shook my head before I went to the balcony to breathe fresh air, but my face immediately soured when I saw how Lethia stumped into my property. Her heavy footsteps with the elegant dress she always wears. She didn't change, even in how her eyes would darken, how her brows would meet, or how she breathed aggressively. It's still Lethia who bullied me because I always aced rather than her even back then.
There was a loud knock at my door, and the bell rang, but I chose not to lend an ear to it.
"I know you're there, Blair! Get out!" She shouted while knocking loudly on my door. I was wondering why she had entered when I had left the gate closed. But when I gazed that way, I realized I left it open.
I cross my arms over my chest. I just looked at her, she's so furious. I laugh at her at the back of my mind, here she is trying to scandalize herself, just like her mother-in-law. After a few minutes, she seemed to notice that I had no intention of going out, so she was about to leave, but she had a hawkeye in her eyes and landed on my way.
"Get out of there!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. Isn't she aware that there are plenty of CCTVs around us? The eye of a human is evil. "I said get down!" She added. I shrugged off and turned away from him to go down. She kept yelling my name, and I was almost deaf to the doorbell.
As soon as I opened the door, an extreme slap landed on my cheek.
"How dare you show yourself here?" She screeched in horror. "I told you not to show up anymore, and we have an agreement, Blair." Her hands were shaking as well as her voice, as if she wanted to smack me again.
But that was her last.
"What now? You want to seduce my husband, huh? Was he here last night?!" She tried to reach me, but I pushed her hard. Unfortunately she managed to hold my wrist, so there was a small scratch on my wrist due to her long nails.
"Fuck!" I curse looking at the small blood.
"You deserve that bitch!” She spat, “Do you want to take my husband away from me, huh?" She braced herself and adjusted her posture. "Tell me, are you that desperate to get him again?" She summed it up.
"He's all yours, Lethia; I don't care about your husband." I answered her with emphasis. How dare she show up at my property and make a scandal? "Get out of here before I call the police!" My voice menaced.
"I don't care; maybe you forgot who my husband is.”
"Yes, I forgot. Who are you without Roux, right?" I scoff while my lips turn smugly.
"How dare you?!" She gritted her teeth and tried to harm me one more time, but I managed to oversee her next move. That's why I'm the one who slapped her. She glanced at me with unbelievable eyes; I just rolled my eyes.
"You are trespassing. So don't wait for me to call the police." I step near her, and she retreats. "Do you want this to reach your in-laws?"
Her face suddenly turned pale at what she perceived. And she couldn't make her eyes stay; they were mischievous and looked like they were looking for something.
"Go back to wherever you are; don't disturb us anymore.” Her voice shivered. “We're happy."
"Are you really happy?" I ask her with a playful smirk, from what I've heard, it's the opposite one.
"B-blair, don't ruin our agreement." She transformed into a child who is begging to be followed by her order.
"Too late. There's nothing you can do; you can't hold me anymore." I replied with a cold tone, she turned her head side by side.
"N-no, Blair. We have an agreement! The hell, Blair, we've agreed on this." She screamed, "You can't do this." Her fingers pointed my way, but all I did was stare and give my unfriendly sight.
"I cut it off, and I can pay you triple right now." She gasped. She couldn't believe that I became evil, and that was because of them.
"N-no, don't do this, B-blair." She's sorry, but I'm worn out of being subservient to her and them. Now that I can, why should I hide it?
"You can't stop me now, Lethia," I said, shaking my head.
"No! They won't know; I'll do everything; just don't tell them." It was against her will to say that, I know. That's why I was enjoying this picture with Lethia. This is what I want—to get rid of them little by little without making it appear that I am the one who is the villain.
"Everything?" I asked challengingly. I don't want her to back out because I'm going to torture her in a way she doesn't think I can.
She gulped first. "E-everything," she forcefully responded with her eyes closed. I smiled sweetly, then brought my lips to her ear. I smirked before I uttered the words that I knew she would regret concurring with me.
