I dismissed the maids who were now watching Dad and ordered them not to do anything. I went near my father, who was busy massaging his temples, and said, "Good morning, Dad." I saw his smile with his gums almost out, so I smiled too. So, is he normal now? "How are you?" I sat behind him so that I could be the one who massage his temples.
"It's good that you came back and take care of me," he said. I tilted my head, and he saw it, so he also tilted his head so that we could meet. "I'm sorry for everything, Cbiara."
"It's alright, Dad; we all make mistakes, and I've forgiven you. It's been a long time." I patted his shoulder to assure him that everything was alright and he had nothing to worry about.
"I wanna make up with you," he softly patted my hand and I smiled without my teeth showing.
"Dad," I was about to say something when he pushed me and my aunt arrived.
"I told you to get out of here! You are so hardheaded, Cbiara! I will never forgive you no matter what you say!" I was bewildered that I didn't know what to do next. Raven was supporting me because Daddy pushed me so hard that I fell on the bed.
Fvck! I curse myself.
"Get her out of my room; I don't want to see her!" Dad growled and looked at me with fury. I blinked my eyes and couldn't understand everything, he was just fine. I look at him and my aunt then back to him trying to realize something.
I left Dad's room and went to my room when Raven accompanied me while my aunts were looking at me. I let out a gasp. I must have been too overwhelmed to see that everything was going to work out, but once again, I was mistaken. I inhaled deeply. Right now, I have no idea what may occur afterward.
I suddenly exclaimed, "What was that?" and began to speak my unwanted thoughts. I believe I'm truly losing my mind. Was it my imagination that my father was speaking to me and then pushing me?
Shit! It's driving me nuts. I'm at a loss for words; honestly, it seems like everyone around me is just fake, so I guess I'll just have to settle for remaining silent for the time being. I can't rush to conclusions; I know my dad is up to something.
Is it possible that he is merely acting as though he feels something when, in reality, he doesn't? However, why?
"You should be careful next time, Cbiara." Raven held my hand. I looked at it for a long time, so he slowly let go of my hands. "I'm just concerned about what might happen; we don't know what they might do." Raven preached to me. I closed my eyes and tried to erase it from my mind, but he was right. There are others who will follow, and I have to watch my steps lest they suddenly discover things that I did not expect.
"I know Raven, but Dad is up to something," I shared with him; this time he was the only one I needed to tell. "It's like he's hiding something," I added.
"That's what I suspected too; it's like he's just pretending to be in his condition." I cover his mouth in case someone hears it.
"Don't you ever open your mouth once again; maybe someone will hear us!" I sneered at him. He shut his mouth. "We have no allies here, so we have nothing to trust." I reprimanded him; even their maids have their own habits that I don't know yet.
I tried to sneak into my grandparents' room that night, but I failed because the aunts were too strict. I'm losing hope; I need to get this done before they find out what Daddy is doing.
"We must do it quickly,"
"I'll try to get some information."
"But how, Raven?" He didn't look at me and went to a maid who was serious about what she was doing, but when Raven approached her, her facial expression suddenly changed.
My brows arched; how could she swiftly shift her emotion just like that? I smirked and looked at them disapprovingly. I waited for them to do something, but the woman immediately took Raven to a place where it was dark. My jaw tightened, and I was still waiting for what would happen next. I was sleepy waiting before they came out, and I hid when they came out.
Raven immediately bore his eyes into my place. I give him my thumbs up, even if I am unaware of what he is doing. The thing that I want to tell him is that I am still here! Something in my chest suddenly settled when the woman held his chest, and he let her do what she wanted.
Is he really like that, even though he is married? Does he want me to tell Lethia all of this? Argh! Why are you still bothering Cbiara? I waited for him and turned my back so that I wouldn't have any more ideas. A minute later, he pulled me out of my hiding place, surprised that I had just followed him.
When he dropped me off somewhere I wasn't familiar with, I blamed him. "What? Can we start? How to start?" I glared at him. Did the flirting come first and in front of me?
His lip rose, which made me more annoyed. "You think I am not doing something?" He met my gaze, and I was suddenly burned by what he was doing by touching my forearm. I tried to remove it, but he just held me tightly, and it was as if he didn't want to let me go.
He slowly folded his long sleeve unto his elbow, I gulped seeing it, it was too hard not to take sight of it.
"We found something that you need to see. Maybe only you will know." He caught my attention after telling me that, he was getting weirder and weirder, which I find scary, but even then, I tried to act normal so that he could remove his hand, but he was still holding on tightly.
"What? Why don't you tell me what it is?" I snorted in a weak way. He shook his head. "Why? Can't I know what it is?"
"You need to see it; only you have the ability to describe what we see, and the puzzle about your dad was there as well." It was only after he said that I became interested in what it was.
