Chapter 35 The Deal (2)

"I did force you but if you cooperate with me you won't suffer losses after all only i know how to make a poor girl turn the tide" Richard said.

"Since it is a cooperation, I have two terms," Arci said.

"Tell me," Richard replied.

"First, as partners, we should trust each other don't scheme against me again. Second, we should strive for mutual benefits. If you are kind to me I'll certainly repay your kindness but don't ask for things without limit," Arci listed her condition.

Richard gave a nod, "Okay i agree to your terms, how about this? I'll let you get a firm foothold in the Lincoln family first when you have some say they help me raise money for my soldiers pay and provisions, what do you say?" He asked.

"How will you let me get a firm hold in the Lincoln family?" Arci doubted him.

"I've already sent someone to support you in the Lincoln family?" Richard replied to her.

"Do you mean Bremo?" She asked

Richard gave a nod.

"So you plotted that too?" She asked surprised.

Richard chuckled at her expression, "I'm always prepared before acting" He replied proudly.

"If you don't scheme against me you are really a good partner" She admitted

Richard put his hand in his pocket and brought out her diary.

"I believe you are a trustworthy partner so i am giving this back to you" He stretched his hand and gave her the dairy.

Arci accepted it.

"Do you have a lighter?" She asked him.

"Yes" he put his hand in his pocket and brought out a lighter.

He gave it to her.

"What do you want to do?" He asked her.

She opened the lighter and lit a light, she put it in the diary.

Richard hurriedly stood up to stop her.

"Won't you feel it is a pity to burn it just like this?" He asked her.

"No, because I have kept every page in my mind" she told him and continued to burn the diary till it turned to ashes.

"Okay, well let's be of one mind to achieve what we wanted as husband and wife I'll help you get what you have lost" He stretched out his hand.

She smiled and put her hand on his as they shook hands in a tactics agreement.

"You must promise me one more thing" Arci told him

"Go ahead," Richard replied.

She twisted his hand and his face scrunched up in pain.

"Don't mention the thing we pretended as a couple" She smiled viciously.

Richard snatched his hand away from hers.

"It hurts" he said pitifully

"Your hand has great strength," Richard told her.

Arci smiled and bid him farewell before leaving.

She went home and everyone was already asleep so she went into her room quietly.

Arci sat down on her bed with her brother Jade's pendant in her hand and stared at her mother's frame.

"Mom, rest in peace, don't worry I'll get back everything we've lost here

Tomorrow is her mother's funeral procession so she has to sleep early and wake up early. She has to keep vigil alone in the Kingdom Temple for a whole night.

She lied down when she was about to doze off and she heard a door open. She quickly got down from her bed and peeped.

She saw that it was Runa who came out looking weird.

She followed her silently and sneakily.

As she expected, she stealthily went to the casino to meet someone.

The man was Greg Arts, Dawn's nephew, a typical ruffian who gambles, drinks and frequently visits brothels.

She guessed they wanted to do something to her.

She called Richard to meet her at the same place they met earlier.

He got there within five minutes.

"You missed me already? Didn't we just meet two hours ago?" He asked jokingly when he got there.

"Cut it out, I'm here to talk about something with you," Arci told him.

"As expected, you won't come to me if you haven't something to ask of me, go ahead" Richard said.

"When I got home earlier I saw Runa look weird as she sneaked out of her room, I sneaked and followed her. As expected she stealthily went to the casino to meet someone that is Greg Dawn's nephew, a ruffian who gambles, drinks and visits the club frequently. I guess they want to do something away with me, ``she explained.

"They are so anxious, don't worry I'll send people to keep watch on that ruffian and won't let you get hurt" Richard promised.

"Thank you" Arci thanked him.

"Well, don't thank me. I do this for myself too. If anything happens to you I won't get the money for my soldiers," Richard said.

Arci smiled and sneezed.

She caught a cold.

Richard exhaled tiredly. He took off his suit and put his suit on her body.

"I'm not cold," she protested.

"Put it on. Don't worry I'll try my best to protect you" Richard vowed

Arci smiled.

Flow's Private Room

Flow was sitting on the couch in her private room in the company when a young lady walked into her room.

"Miss Flow, there is a military officer who asks to see you," She said.

Flow hurriedly stood up from the couch thinking it was Richard that was asking for it.

She walked out to meet the person hurriedly and happily.

When she saw a young man putting on military clothes she was disappointed and confused.

"Who are you?" She asked.

"These days i have had people send flowers to you but failed to attract your attention, Miss Flow you didn't even give a reply. So, i had to come here personally " The man smiled at her.

"So you are the Mr Michael who sent me flowers?" She asked.
