Chapter 78 Part 2
Chapter 78 Part 2
Nelly
Our son was born just four months after we escaped from Stephen, and Vincent was absolutely thrilled. He finally had his son, Christian, who will be turning ten soon. We had some disagreements about his name, but we eventually reached a compromise. Christian has inherited my temper and his father's charm, which we know will be a challenge as he grows older. The old man and I are prepared to protect our children from anyone who tries to take advantage of their immortality.
However, our lives have become enriched and more fulfilling with their presence. I am grateful for being captured, for becoming his pet, and for finally acknowledging our mutual feelings. My life is now complete, and I wouldn't change any of it for the world.
As for Alec and Quinn, the dynamic between us has yet to feel awkward or uncomfortable. I half-expected jealousy to rear its head, but it hasn't. When Quinn enters our living room, the children eagerly rush to greet him, excited to meet their new siblings. "One at a time. Sit," he commands, and I can't help but laugh.
I playfully mouth, "Good boy," as I pat my head. Alec, sitting beside me with his hand on my pregnant belly, joins in the laughter.
Quinn chuckled as he carefully placed Anna in Alexis's arms and Ben in Christian's arms. He had taken my babies to the elder, who confirmed that we had indeed created "werepires." I knew we needed a better name for them, and I will think of one at some point. As the children got to know each other, Quinn settled down beside me. He winked at Alec before turning to me with a serious expression.
"I want more pups," Quinn stated, his tone devoid of humor.
Surprised, I responded, "What? I thought we agreed we were done after this last one was born." Alec leaned in to kiss my cheek, offering his support.
Alec gently caressed the spot where he had just kissed me, and I leaned into his touch. "We've all discussed it, and after my child is born, we would like to have more... if you're willing, of course."
I chewed on my lip, feeling conflicted. Vincent had not yet disclosed to the community that he had reversed Alec's infertility. However, anyone who knew Alec's secret either lived here or was part of our close-knit group. "I... I..."
Vincent enters the room and gently lifts me onto his lap, positioning me so that I am facing him. With a tender smile, he speaks softly, "Nelly, you are an exceptional mother. The addition of more children does not diminish our love for the ones we already have, nor does it deprive them of the attention they deserve. You once confided in me that the idea of having children was a dream you had abandoned due to the darkness that surrounded you. Your light has since dispelled that darkness, my dear."
His words resonate with me, yet despite the progress we have made, a lingering doubt creeps into my mind. "What if..." I begin, my voice trailing off as I contemplate the shadows that still linger in the corners of our lives.
I was interrupted mid-thought by the gentle touch of my men's lips on mine. Their hands caressed my face as they gazed into my eyes. Vincent spoke first, his voice filled with conviction, "Nelly, we are eternal now. I lead the Dark Ones, and I will not hesitate to eliminate anyone who dares to suggest experimenting on us or our offspring. I have provided them with enough of my serums to make them believe I exhausted all possibilities in attempting to replicate our DNA. I even administered a booster to transform any human-vampire hybrids into full-fledged vampires. That is all they desired - a child like themselves to ensure they do not outlive their progeny."
"Doll, you know my pack is fiercely loyal. Our pups carry the scent of vampires, concealing their true nature from outsiders. I will instruct them on how to conceal their wolf side, just as I have done," Quinn added.
"But I could always sense a werewolf before it shifted," I interjected.
Vincent turned his gaze towards me, a knowing look in his eyes. "That ability was a result of the concoction your parents gave you. They may have intended for you to become the ultimate weapon against the Dark Ones."
I scoffed, "Come on, I was just a child."
He gently holds my face in his hands and says, "You were the most mature person your age that I had ever met. Your fighting skills alone would have taken decades to master. I have no doubt that if you had not been pregnant, you would have defeated anyone who tried to take you from me. You are stronger than you realize. You are stronger than any of us."
I playfully respond, "So you want to keep me weak by keeping me pregnant, huh?"
Quinn rolls his eyes and replies, "Doll, we are fighting a losing battle here because every minute we spend together, you senselessly torture us."
I joke, "It's a good thing that I am bound to a bunch of masochists, then."
Vincent growls, "Guys, I think my wife needs a little reminder."
