61|'You are exceptionally violent today.'-2

"Do you see grey, bro?" He huffed and removed his shirt off his head. "You are exceptionally violent today." He muttered and I laughed again. Together we played this game for a while until I saw threshold of a tomb like thing. I pointed towards it, suddenly nervous. "Is t-that-?" "Y-Yeah. Let's go." I nodded as I took his hand again. We jogged uphill and the carvings on stones started to get clearer. Suddenly, I felt like Lara Croft. The trees around the hill cleared apart from some creepers here and there. The stone structure became prominent and I gulped. Alex's grip tightened. He was obviously nervous. After all, there was so much that depended on us at the moment. As we stepped closer to the brink of darkness, he tugged me to stop and looked down at me with determination. "I don't know what is inside, Cygnet. But all I know is that, whatever it is, we are on this together. When we step out of here, I want us to be as close to each other as we are when entering. Promise me that you will never let power blind you and destroy you." I nodded with conviction and covered his hand with mine. "I promise." He gave me a small smile before we looked back at dark and with a deep breath, I removed a smoke torch out of my pocket as we stepped inside. The stone walls were covered in spider webs and dust but the carvings on them said a million stories. It seemed like an endless path until we finally reached a stone gate. A huge rock was placed a couple of meters in front of the gate. "H-Here." Alex whispered and I almost jumped in fear as he broke my trance. He pointed towards a long sharp stone next to what seemed like bowl like carving in the rock surface. There were a few blood stained green leaves in that bowl and my eyes widened. He lit the torches on the wall and the place illuminated in a golden hue. "H-How are these l-leaves green and b-blood stained?" I squeaked and his hold on my hand tightened. "This plant g-grew it's way o-out of the rock. B-Blood is our a-ancestor's." I looked at him in horrification as colour drained off my face. "W-What d-do you mean?!" "Medieval voodoo. It is our DNA test." I gulped and looked at the horrifying thing. "Come." I nodded and stepped forward. Alex picked up the sharp rock with shaking hands. He looked back, slightly pale and mouthed 'I love you, swan' as he slit his palm with the stone. I gasped and cupped my mouth. He cried in pain and I blinked back the tears as he curled his fist. Blood oozed out of his palm and fell on the leaves. The droplets stained the already tainted green and in few seconds, I saw vapour floating above it, leaving a dried maroon tarnish of blood. "W-What just h-happened?" I asked as I looked between the rock and a relieved Alex, who was breathing finally. "It's proved, I am a Law." I nodded as he tore the sleeve of his shirt to bandage his hand. "Your turn." Taking a deep breath, I stepped forward. He patted my shoulder. "You can do it, swan. I am here." I gulped and nodded as I took the sharp stone with trembling hands while Alex quickly tore other sleeve to bandage my to-be-there wound. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath and slashed my palm. Pain shot through my body at the burn it left and I bit my lip to hold my cry as I positioned my hand above the bowl and squeezed my fist as I felt blood trickling out. I gasped and finally took heavy breaths as I backed away from vapour while Alex nursed my hand. "I did it." I whispered. Still looking at the ghost of vapour. "I did it! We did it!" I yelled in joy and jumped on Alex for a hug. He chuckled and hugged me back. Our heads snapped towards the sound of sliding. We both looked at the opposite direction of the suspected gate and saw a huge wall sliding upwards. I looked back at the gate behind the rock with wide eyes where I heard the sound of withdrawing mechanised arms. "Trap." Alex and I realized at same time. With a serious nod, Alex took my hand again and we started walking towards the opened wall. Lighting another smoke torch, we stepped inside. The room was comparatively small and had a huge wheel kind of thing in the middle. When I say huge, it means the half the size of room huge. It looked like a pool of clay with concentric circles drawn from the centre to the end. There were hand prints on each circle except the last one. I furrowed my eyebrows. "Maybe it's for emotional connection." I offered and he nodded with a frown. "Let's get this over with." He sighed and we stepped towards the wheel. Hesitantly, we both kept our right and non-wounded hand on the last circle. Our palms immediately sunk into the clay. How it is still wet, is beyond me. We waited for a minute, then two minute, then five minutes but nothing budged. "What is it?" Alex mumbled. "Are we doing it right?" I asked in slight apprehension as the thought of broken emotional bond invaded my brain. "If I know right, then this wheel studies the lines on our palm to define the love between siblings. Why isn't it working?" I gulped and held his eyes as we frowned in confusion before he exclaimed- "I know what it is!"
