Chapter 42
Chapter 43
“ I’m glad you took her in then,” he said. I could tell he wanted to ask me about something, but was hesitant and then as soon as that crossed my mind he began to speak.
“ Marcus told me about what you are going through,” he said without judgment.
I froze because I didn’t know how to talk about it with anyone other than Faith and Marcus. “ It’s hard for me to explain.” I said. “ I went through a lot and I’m psychologically fried.”
“ I understand and although I haven’t been through anything like the hell you went through I’ve been through some shit. Is Faith okay with it?” he asked carefully.
“ She’s more than okay with it. When I couldn’t get hard no matter how much she turned me on she wasn’t sure she would like bringing in Marcus, but after that first threesome she wanted more. Marcus didn’t touch her, but she liked the things he did to me and what it did to me.”
“ We can talk more later if you want.” he said as he patted my shoulder when he walked by. Soon after I heard the screen door slam and the kids ran in.
I walked towards them and hugged them all as they greeted me. “ What do you say to a horseback ride through the field and forest tonight?”
Astrid’s eyes instantly lit up. “ Can I go see Spirit before we go?” she asked.
“ Yes, we can visit Spirit.” Spirit was the little foal I had planned to give her, but Jason gave it to her because of everything that had happened. Soon we would have to break him for her. I would ride him a good year before I let Astrid ride alone.
“ And can I ride his mom Kandy?” she asked excitedly.
“ Yes, you can have Kandy.” I said grinning. “ Does anyone else want to pick the horse they want to ride?”
“ I want to ride Beauty.” Cassie said.
“ Okay, so here is what I think we will do. Garett you will ride with Cassie and Jess will ride with me. Is everyone okay with that?”
“ When can I ride by myself?” Garett asked.
“When you get to Astrid's age you can ride alone and I will even buy you your own special horse if you want.” I said. “ Is that a deal?”
Garett grinned. “Deal.”
“ Okay Cassie if you want to take everyone out to the barn I will meet you there. I’m going to tell your sister what we are doing.”
“Let’s go get everything rounded up while we wait for dad.” Cassie said so excitedly that the little kids would be excited to get things together. She had them all running out the door faster than I could yell don’t slam the screen door.
I went outside to find Faith talking with the girls and I snuck up behind her pressing her into my hard on. I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her cheek. “ I’m going to take the kids on a little horseback ride through the field and some through the forest.” Natalie was standing side by side with Drew and Emily was standing with Jason’s arm around her and I noticed they were all watching us.
“Well, I see you two have quickly gotten back into a routine.” Emily said, breaking the silence.
“Well if you want to come inside I will tell you all about routine.” Faith said as she pressed herself into me.
“ Well love, don't tell them everything about our routine.” I said terrified because I wasn’t ready for the world to know yet.
“ Don’t worry.” she said as she turned into me. She kissed me lightly. “ Have fun with the kids love.” She leaned in and whispered in my ear. “ I’ll only tell them about the toys.” and giggled after.
“ I suppose that’s okay.” I said, kissing her softly. “ But that’s it.”
“ I promise.” She said before turning back to the girls and walking with them to the house.
When they got into the house Jason looked at me like he didn’t know me. “What the hell was that about?”
“ Jason, it's all about how deeply we love each other and what we’d comfortably do for each other.” I said, smirking. Drew and Jason gave each other confused looks as I walked away to meet the kids at the barn.
When I made it to the barn I was surprised to see the horses saddled and ready to go. “ You guys did an awesome job.” I said.
“You’re welcome!”Astrid said proudly. “ I wanted to show you that I am responsible and can take care of my foal.”
“ I have no doubt that you will do an amazing job Astrid.” I said as I gave her a quick hug. “ Now is everybody ready to go riding?” Cassie helped Garett on her horse and climbed on behind him and after I got Jess comfortable we started out to the field.
“It is so beautiful out here.” Cassie said as she marveled at the mountain scenery.
“It's part of the reason why we chose to move here.” I said. We began getting closer to the edge of the forest and I began telling them stories of my childhood and things I used to do for fun. They all rode in silence as they were captivated by what I had to tell them.
“So let me get this straight.” Garett said with a grin on his face. “ You used to have firework wars with Natalie and Jason. We have gotta do that!” He said excitedly.
“Woah buddy. I don’t think Faith would let us. I’d have to talk to her first.” I said laughing at his enthusiasm.
“Oh please make her say yes.” he begged. “ The fourth of July is like a week away.”
“ I’ll see what I can do.” I said as we made it back to the barn. Garett grinned and jumped off the horse.
“ What are you seeing about?” I heard Faith ask.
I helped Jess from my horse and I got off after her. I walked over to Faith and kissed her softly. “ I’ll explain later, but for now I need to get these horses put away and make sure they have enough water.”
“ Okay.” she said with an all knowing smirk. She knew the kids and I were up to something. “ I’ll see you up at the house. Wash up because dinner is waiting.”
“Thank you love we will be up soon.” I said. When she walked away I turned to the kids and whispered. “ Don’t say anything and I will try and talk her into it.”
Jessica giggled, “okay daddy.”
I had the kids fill each of the horses' water buckets and give them a little extra hay before dismissing them to go wash up for dinner. I took the saddles off and hung them up then led each horse to its own stall. I jogged up to the house and everyone was sitting at the dinner table waiting for me. I quickly washed my hands and sat next to Faith.
“It's nice of you to join us.” mom said teasing.
“ I’m starving, let's eat.” Garett said.
“I’m right there with you, Garett.” Faith said as she put a piece of fried chicken on her plate. After that everyone began filling their plates with food. I had planned to bring up the fireworks at dinner so Jason could weigh in on it. I knew he would love to play like we did as kids with the kids.
