Chapter 124 ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FOUR

Chapter 124 ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FOUR
TESS
It was a sunny Saturday afternoon; I was relaxing in my room trying to get some sleep.
For some days, I haven’t been able to sleep well. I have been having terrible nightmares where I’m reminded over and over again of betraying my best friend.
The most horrifying dream was when Shirley caught me with Jack, she grabbed a gun from her bag and pointed it at my face.
I woke up sweating profusely, goose bumps all over my body.
Each time I close my eyes, I see her face.
I messed up very bad and I don’t even know how to get out from this mistake.
Yeah, I was drunk when I had sex with him, but since I knew what I did was a terrible thing, I should have stopped. I should have ignored my raging hormones and clenched my pussy shut.
Instead……
I did it again…..
And again until I couldn’t say no anymore to him.
I groaned and sat up from the bed since sleep wasn’t coming.
I grabbed my phone checked my Instagram for fresh feeds, just anything to get my mind off Shirley.
I kept scrolling down and when I didn’t find anything worth my attention online, I hissed and tossed my phone on the bed.
I held my head in my hand in frustration.
My door bell rang and I looked up.
I wasn’t expecting anyone and God knows that I’m not in the mood to talk to anybody now.
The door bell rang again, I groaned, threw an oversized T-shirt on and walked to the door.
Maybe it was one of my neighbors who wants to borrow something from me.
I rubbed my eyes and slowly opened the door.
I blinked ‘Jack?’
He grinned at me ‘Hello gorgeous, how are you doing?’
Oh no…I don’t want him here again. I always forget self control whenever he is around.
‘What are you doing here?’
He chuckled ‘What do you mean by that? I came to see you because I missed you and I know you missed me as well’
I shifted uncomfortably ‘Well, you are wrong. I don’t want to see you and I certainly did not miss you’
He frowned ‘Ouch…that was so mean’
‘I don’t fucking care’ I replied.
‘You don’t care that I have been thinking about you all day long and I really wanted to set my eyes on you’
‘I don’t give a fuck. You didn’t tell me you were coming over’
‘Because I knew you would probably tell me not to come’ he replied.
I nodded in agreement ‘Damn right’
He sighed ‘Well, I’m here now. Can you at least be a darling and let me in?’
I crossed my arms ‘Nope’
He smiled ‘You wouldn’t let me in?’
‘No’ I replied again.
He shrugged ‘You leave me no choice then. Thank God your neighbors are around, I’m sure they would love to hear how their beautiful neighbor refused to let me into her apartment.’
I frowned ‘You wouldn’t dare’
He laughed ‘You wanna bet?’
Silence.
I kept shifting from one foot to another, weighing my options, thinking what my first step would be.
One thing I wouldn’t like is my nosy neighbors getting to know about my business and spilling everything to every ear that wants to hear.
They already don’t like me because I don’t fuck with them.
‘Fine. You can come in but you are leaving in the next ten minutes’ I said quickly.
‘I’m not promising anything, Tess’
I rolled my eyes and moved aside for him to enter my apartment.
He smiled as he walked past me, I exhaled and quickly closed the door before I attract unwanted attention.
He sat on my couch and crossed his legs.
I sat at the other end of the couch ‘So what did you say you want again?’
‘I came to see you. I texted you a couple of times and the only response I got was a smiling emoji’
I shrugged ‘Yeah, that was my response’
‘You are brutal Tess, what happened to using actual words to respond?’
‘What were you expecting me to say when you said you missed me?’
He scoffed ‘That you missed me too. Is not that hard’
‘It is hard, each time I remember what we have done, I feel so guilty. Why are you so unbothered? Aren’t you worried of what would happen in the future when this gets out?"
He shifted closer to where I was sitting ‘It won’t get out, we just have to be careful’ he said softly.
I raised a brow ‘You are so unserious and very selfish. Shirley is my friend, she will never forgive me for betraying her.’
‘When we get to that bridge Tess, we will cross it’
I laughed bitterly ‘So you mean that for now, we should just keep fucking and wait till karma hits us? I can’t believe you. This is why I never liked you.’
‘And yet you opened your door and let me in’
‘Because you were threatening me’
He nudged closer to me ‘Listen Tess, I feel very guilty too but is frustrating that I can’t stop thinking about you or about our little time together. You are the only woman that I have felt this drawn to, you are not afraid to call out my bullshit, you act tough, but deep inside you are not so tough. Believe me, I have tried to ignore these feelings, but......'
I looked at him quietly as I listened to this man list most of my qualities that all the other men I have dated hasn’t even noticed.
This whole romance thing is the worst mistake I have ever met, but meeting him and getting to know him better has been spirit lifting for me.
Maybe it was because I have been starved of love and affection for as long as I can remember, maybe that’s why his words melted my heart.
‘You haven’t smiled for me since I got here and you know you have a beautiful smile’
Instead of frowning and saying something very offensive, my face lit up in a dazzling smile.
He pointed to my face ‘See how beautiful you look please smile often’
I rolled my eyes ‘Your flattery doesn’t move me’
‘It’s not flattery, is the truth. Hey, look at me’ he said as he pulled my chin up.
I looked at him, unable to speak or move and suddenly he leaned forward slowly, cautiously.
I wanted to push him away but I couldn’t.
Instead…..I leaned in as well and our lips met softly.
It was a slow burning kiss that declared everything we felt and wanted from each other. He cupped my chin and pressed his body against mine.
I moaned in his mouth and the kiss deepened.
Oh God!!!! What is wrong with me?
Then….it happened.
The door bell rang.
We ignored it and continued assaulting each other’s lips with need.
The door bell rang again and I attempted to pull away from the kiss.
Jack whispered ‘Ignore it’
‘Tess!!! Where the hell are you?’ we heard a very familiar voice shout from outside.
We froze.
