Chapter 15
Amanda came awake with a start... feeling a whole lot better.
She stared at Xavier sleeping beside her, he had kicked the duvet off him, her eyes traveled down to the black trousers he wore, she stared at the bulge that was covered by the material of his trousers, she wondered what it looked like, she knew how it felt when he had pressed his body against hers each time he kissed her. It was hard and she could have sworn it moved. His eyes opened.
"Morning," He said and smiled when he saw where she was looking.
A small gasp escaped her lips realizing that she had been caught. She quickly looked away, her cheeks turning crimson.
"Morning," she replied, timidly.
"You don't have to be embarrassed by checking me out, I'm your husband," He reminded. "Have you ever seen a man's cock?"
Her pulse raced. She had only seen Miguel's butt because he quickly wrapped himself up when she had walked into his room without knocking but she had never imagined his cock because of her respect for him.
But she saw Xavier as a man...a man who was setting her heart on fire.
"No," she replied still not staring at him.
"Do you want to touch it?"
"No... I don't know," she choked out.
He snickered and took her hand, he placed it on his crotch, but over the material and when she tried to pull away, he clamped his hand over hers.
"Can you feel that? Can you feel how it grows and becomes hard by your touch? This is the effect you have on me. Would you like to see it?"
She badly wanted to see him, but she was scared that he might want her to pleasure him which she had no idea on what to do.
She pulled her hand away from his.
"Stop... you're being naughty," she cried out.
"You'll have to see it at some point." Seeing her bottom lip quiver, he knew she was nervous as hell.
He also knew he had a long way to go with this virgin wife of his whom he wanted so desperately... could desperate really describe the feeling?
But her innocence gladdens his heart. Soon enough, he would get to see and explore the secret part of her that no other man had seen.
"I'd wait till you're ready for me, Alisha, but please, don't watch me go too crazy about you," he joked.
She smiled, warmly.
He placed his hand on her forehead.
"I'm glad you're okay now, but you still have to be careful,” he said lovingly and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
She felt special... and the way he was looking at her...so adoringly, it made her feel like something so vital to his existence.
Xavier got out of his car excited to see his wife. All day, he hadn't been able to get her out of his mind, he had to call and hear her voice so that he could concentrate with his work. She had told him twice before that he didn’t know her. And now, knowing about her true self had crumbled all his defenses. He wasn't fighting this anymore; he was going to live a happy long life with her. All he had to do was prove to her that he could be anything she wanted him to be.
He strode into the sitting room to see her blowing air into a cut on her palm His heart raced, she got hurt. He quickly hurried towards her.
Taking her hand and inspecting the cut thoroughly.
He asked, "What happened to you?"
"I... I was chopping some...some onion and I..."
"Chopping onions? You were cooking?" He asked, angrily.
She swallowed, she had made him talk to the maids to stop acting formal with her though they wouldn't stop calling her 'Ma'am’, but they all got along pretty well, and she didn't get bored whenever Xavier was away.
She had prepared the household meals with the maids many times, though, at first, they wouldn't let her, but they eventually gave in. Today, she had been too engrossed with their gist and at the same time chopping onions, she had cut herself, it wasn't even that deep and it didn't hurt much so he had no reason to overreact.
"It's nothing, Xavier. I just..."
"Mona, get me the first aid kit!" Xavier ordered.
Mona came running in, immediately.
He grabbed the box from her, bent before his wife and started treating the tiny cut.
Amanda stared at him, quite stunned. She could hardly feel any pain on her palm, yet he was so focused on treating it.
She laughed seeing her full palm wrapped in a bandage.
"What's funny?"
"It was just a tiny cut, and you turned my palm into this. If it was deep, you'd have turned me into a mummy," She joked but he didn't laugh.
"I don't want you getting hurt, Alisha. You already said it's boring being my wife and getting injured is..."
"I'm sorry for saying that," she apologized, remorsefully. She didn't know those words had stuck to his mind.
"I don't think it's a good idea if you keep on associating with the staff," he announced.
"Please, Xavier. This really was my fault, and it doesn't hurt at all," she pleaded.
He sighed. He knew she loved talking a lot and when he wasn't at home, she might feel sad having no one to talk to.
"Fine. Just be more careful. I know it might bother you that I keep acting this way towards you, but I can't help it. After seeing that scar, I just don't want to see any other cut on you. I just want to see you happy all the time. I'm falling for you and it's making me feel weak and vulnerable, I want to believe that you won't break or destroy me. I just want to think that this might be the start of something beautiful for us"
She just stared at him, registering the sincerity of his words. If Alisha had been the one here right now, would he possibly feel this way towards her?
But Amanda was the one here, she was the one who walked down the aisle to him, she was the one whom he was falling for.
"I'm happy being your wife, Xavier," she confessed.
He smiled, broadly and carried her in his arms.
She snickered as he walked towards the staircase "I didn't hurt my leg,” she reminded.
"I know, I just felt like reassuring myself that you'll always be mine, Alisha"
Her chest ached badly. She didn't want to hear him call her that again, she didn't want to be reminded that she wasn't his wife.
"I don't want you to call me Alisha, anymore," Amanda announced.
Xavier cocked an eyebrow. He knew ladies loved being called pet names.
"Alright, Tesoromio (my treasure)."
She smiled.
"Tesoro?"
"What? You don't like that? I've got a lot more for you, Amore mio (My love)."
She buried her face in his chest as he ascended the stairs.
"I can already see your cheeks flaming up, cuore mio (my heart)."
"Stop that," she croaked out.
"You asked for pet names," he reminded.
She felt butterflies letting loose in her belly, a warm rise of blush continued to flame her cheeks and she knew she would just melt away if she continues listening to him.
"How about an eating contest tonight?" Amanda announced.
Xavier froze. "Dio!"
Amanda stood by her window and gazed down at the garden. She was done telling herself that she shouldn't be feeling this way towards him. Was it even possible to live with a man without emotions getting involved? But she didn't blame herself for failing to maintain her defenses. She blamed Xavier for transforming himself into a perfect husband, a fabulous lover and all-round fantastic companion whom pretty much any woman would have found irresistible.
She had tumbled headlong in love with him and did not know how she could possibly have avoided doing so, because Xavier Da Silva had somehow succeeded in making himself indispensable to her comfort and happiness.
Her phone rang, she glanced at it to see Miguel calling. She took a deep breath, she had never had the desire to take anything away from her sister but because of Alisha's decision, she had met Xavier and she wouldn't let go of him.
He was hers.
Miguel stared at Amanda walking into the restaurant they had chosen to meet up since Xavier hated his presence.
She was looking beautiful as always, but he couldn't see that timid look in her features. She looked confident and sexy as hell.
He glanced at her wrist. She wasn't wearing his bracelet; a cold feeling seeped into him.
She sat down opposite to him.
"I just wanted to know how you were doing, Amanda. But I still haven't found your sister."
"Stop looking for her; she clearly doesn't want to be found."
Those words shook him to the bones.
"Wh...what?"
"I've fallen in love with Xavier, and I think he loves me too."
It was as if a knife was pierced into his heart.
"You... you can't love Xavier," he croaked out.
"I wish my heart had heeded to tha.t"
"You don't know what you're saying, Amanda, he's just confusing you, wake up already."
"He's not!"
"Let's say he really does love you, but to him, who does he think he loves? Is it Amanda or Alisha? What does he call you?"
Amanda swallowed the thick lump on her throat. "I'll tell him the truth soon."
"And you think he'll still want you?"
She was quiet, she couldn't answer that.
Miguel held her hand.
"I know it isn't easy staying with a man. You're just getting shaken up emotionally. You have to turn those feelings off. You'll only get hurt in the end. Do you think your mother or Alisha would let you have a life with him? Pull yourself together, Amanda,” he ordered, angrily.
"I'm sorry, but I can't turn these feelings off. I love Xavier."
"Christ! What has that man done to you?"
"I don't know," She muttered, ruefully.
"Is it so bad that I love it when he looks at me...is it so bad that I want him to just hold me and tell me how beautiful I am...is it so bad that I want a life with him." She asked, tearfully.
Tears clouded Miguel's eyes, but he quickly looked away from her.
"I just want you to know that you're in for a big trouble"
"I won't let him go so please stop looking for her, Xavier is my husband." And then, she took her bag and walked away.
Miguel's fist clenched.
"Arrrgghhh!"Miguel screamed punching the wall...his knuckles bleeding.
His study was a total mess, almost everything was broken by him, but rage kept on consuming his soul.
How dare Xavier? Why did he had to make her fall in love with him?
Amanda belonged to only him. She shouldn't love anyone else; he was supposed to be the best person in her life.
Xavier couldn't have her. Not in this life. He marched towards a drawer and brought out a gun.
He really didn't want to kill, he had overcome the thought to kill a lot of times but today, Xavier Da Silva had to die.
Too bad Alisha would come back and meet her husband who'd be six feet under. She deserved that; this was all her fault. If she hadn't gone against her mother and simply become Xavier's wife. Amanda wouldn't have met him and fallen for him.
This was the only way to have a life with her. He dialed a number.
"I want you to find out where Xavier Da Silva is right now," he ordered.
"Yes sir."
Almost an hour later, he was getting out of his car outside of Da Silva's chocolate company.
He had been told that Xavier had paid a visit to his chocolate company today.
He pulled on a mask and saw Xavier walking out of the company with some of his men.
He targeted his shoulder. No! He had heard of people surviving being shot in the shoulder. He wouldn't make any mistake; Xavier had to die instantly. Amanda would be free again and he would have a beautiful life with him.
He aimed at Xavier's head.
