Chapter 29 Be calm, bsby
"Let's go." He stood up all of a sudden and also pulled me up.
ETHAN
"Dad…"
My dad. Why didn't I think about him before dragging Spitfire here?
The man could be extremely unbearable at times… why would he ask her about what her parents did…?
And to think that mum of all people was on his side…
I casually returned my hand and let it rest on the low of Spitfire's back. I didn't know if she got the message I was trying to pass across-that I was here, and nothing would happen to her-but I did it, anyway. It was my was of assuring her…
"I'm an orphan."
I knew she was an orphan. It was stated in the background check Arnold did on her. How lonely she must have been, growing up in an orphanage.
I noticed dad's disgruntled expression as he turned to look at me, "you could have done better."
Really? Or you meant to say, 'you should have brought Anna instead.'
Speak of the devil… Anna made an appearance just right at that moment.
Why? Why was she here anyways? And to think that we came here extremely late… I really thought she'd have came and gone…
But here she was, hugging my parents.
I glanced over at Spitfire… her face was expressionless, but I knew better than anyone that being here was the last thing on her list. Was it even on the list?…
Then Anna decided to embarrass herself. She reached forward to hug Danielle.
Of all the people in this world. Hell.
Danielle disliked her with passion. We both saw her in the same light; someone who was not only proud and pompous, but was also after the position of becoming my wife-just for the affluence that came with it.
After my sister rejected her hug, she then turned to face me with a fake surprise on her face. Hell.
And she wanted to hug me. Fucking hell. Didn't she see that I was with someone? Was she blind, really?
I had to restrain myself from insulting, because of my parents, but mostly because Spitfire was here.
My dad didn't like that I also stopped her from hugging me-it was seriously annoying.
I instantly regretted bringing Spitfire here. We should have just stayed back at home and teased the hell out of each other.
Then to worsen it all, not long after we settled at the dining table, that bastard son arrived. Charles. Charles Moore.
Dad was the first to lose his temper. "What are you doing here?"
I was also surprised as to what he was doing in Danielle's home.
How did he even know this place?
I watched in utter silence as he walked over and sat directly opposite me, beside Anna. "Hello, brother."
"Let's go." It was all I could think of.
I had to get Spitfire out of here. This bastard was dangerous-not to me-to her.
"Why? Does my presence annoy you that much?" He smirked.
Silence. It had always been the best answer and it always would be.
"Then you'll find her presence extremely unbearable."
Whose?
Just then, a beautiful looking woman in a short flaor gown and heels walked in through the door. "Hello, people."
She flashed a charming smile and walked to sit on the chair, beside her son, also directly beside my dad.
Looks could be really deceiving.
As pretty as she was, she was a slut! Seducing my…
I glanced over at mum; just like I had feared, she had turned completely white. And my dad's body was shaking in anger.
Even Uncle Benjamin and his wife were extremely shocked, obviously.
And Danielle, hell. She was angry.
Shit. I couldn't simply leave now. "What are you two doing here?"
"What do you mean?- to celebrate." Violet, Charles' mum laughed as she popped a strawberry into her mouth.
Celebrate? I tell you, they were here to ruin my sister's day.
"You're not welcomed here."
"Why?!" Charles faked an exclaim. "We're family. I'm your brother, I'm also father's son-a part of this family".
"You are not my son!" Dad thundered angrily, hitting his fist on the table.
I felt Spitfire flinch beside me and I intertwined our hands. 'Be calm, baby.'
"Ouch. That was harsh." Charles rubbed his hand on his chest, clicking his tongue.
"Both of you, out." I warned sternly.
No. They couldn't come here and ruin everyone's mood.
"I won't repeat myself."
They both knew who I was and what I was capable of doing. They knew not to mess with me.
"Anyways, we were about leaving. We only came to congratulate Danielle." Charles stood up on his feet and threw a glance at Spitfire for the umpteenth time.
I'd been noticing it-since the moment he walked through that door, he'd been looking at her.
"Andrew, see you." Violet fluttered her eyes at my father as she rose to her feet.
She did it on purpose… in the presence of my mum… to spite her. I felt like strangling her.
The two nuisances walked away from the dining table. But when Charles got to the door, he stopped and turned to look at Spitfire.
I balled my hands into fists. Plucking out his eyes wouldn't be a bad idea, would it?
A few seconds later, he turned right back. Him and his slut of a mother headed out of the house.
Several mitutes went by and no one said a word.
Spitfire shifted on her legs uneasily. I had forgotten we'd been standing for a while now. And she was wearing heels…
"We'll also take our leave now." With her hand in mine, I led her outside, ignoring Anna's intense gaze.
If she knew what was best for her, she would stay the fuck away from me and Spitfire. Should she try anything funny…
I guided Spitfire into the car and ordered Carl to zoom off immediately.
The drive back home was silent, except from the sound coming from the car engine.
So much for introducing my baby to my family. Well, looking on the bright side, Danielle liked her…
But still, I was angry. I was really angry right now.
We were almost reaching the house when I finally opened my mouth to talk. "You aren't saying anything?…" I glanced at her.
She looked so cute and charming in the dark. And hot too. In that dress.
She glanced over at me meekly. Surprisingly, there was no hint of anger in her eyes.
"What do you want me to say, Ethan Moore?" Her words came out as a whisper.
Hell. The way my name rolled out of her mouth... My bulge sprang up in response.
