CHAPTER 89
CHAPTER 89
Archer
There are a lot of things I need to set right, I'm not even bothered about the title I lost, but I just want to set some things right.
The brotherhood always has meetings on this day at this specific time. I arrived with Savien in no time and headed inside.
The guards attempted to stop me from entering, but Savien knocked them down. I pushed the gates open and stepped inside.
Everyone was looking at me, some surprised, some disgusted, and some scared.
“Edward, how dare you show your face here again?” Don sneered, his voice laced with anger.
I approached them slowly. “I'm just here to speak some truth, and I'll be on my way. I'm not interested in anyone pitying me or anything.
The mole who was selling out information to the Russians was Ric, my right-hand man.” The room was suddenly filled with murmurs.
“Of course, he was having help from someone else,” I added. “I'm not here to beg my way back or anything, I just need to let the cat out of the bag since I have nothing to lose.
Don has embezzled a lot of funds, and of course, most of you are aware, but you pretended not to know anything.”
“What nonsense are you spewing, Archer?” He banged on the table angrily. The vein on his forehead was almost about to pop.
“Wow, suddenly I'm Archer now? I'm happy because it annoyed me whenever you called me by my name.”
I cleared my throat.
“Not only did he embezzle funds, he also had a hand in killing my father.”
The room was filled with more murmurs. “You're digging a hole for yourself, Archer. These are useless accusations.” Don retorted.
“Oh come on, you know I never talk without evidence.” I could see fear creeping into his eyes. Finally, the look I've longed to see.
“Don stole the money my father was supposed to give to the Russians as part of a done deal. He hired a Russian to do that. My father was furious and thought that the Russians wanted to dupe him, so he also took action. This was all Don's plan because he knew that my father couldn't fight the Russians alone and because he wanted to have my father's title.” He swallowed hard as he stared at me.
“Bring him in,” I said to Savien, and the doors opened. A man stepped in with messy hair and half-beaten.
“This is Tim, the man Don hired to steal the money. Speak.” I commanded.
“Ye…yes, I was hired by this man years ago to steal some huge amount of money and hide it in a safe on a ship, I did just that and he paid me my money and sent me out of the country.”
“Bullshit, this is all Bullshit, how do we know if you just picked this guy from the streets and just fed him this nonsense.” Don was furious. I smiled.
Savien pulled out an envelope and pulled out pictures and scattered them on the table. “These are some pictures we got, Don and Tim meeting.
You can't tell me you coincidentally met this man and decided to talk to him?” His eyes went red.
“This…this is all crap, its not real. I'm being framed!”
I stretched out my hand, and Savien handed me a file. I placed it on the table.
These are texts between you and Tim, and in one of the texts, you mentioned “do a seamless job and don't let Edward catch you.”
“These are fabricated, there is no proof.”
“Don!” One of the leaders shouted. “The proof is lying in front of you, and you're saying there's no proof. I was aware that you were embezzling funds, but going as far as killing one of the most capable leaders…you crossed a line.
Ever since West died, everything went south until Archer stepped in, you never had solutions to anything. We always had to wait for Archer.
“Can't you guys see? He's angry he got kicked out and is trying to frame me.”
“Shut the fuck up you old prick,” Hugo said angrily. “I now understand why you tried to make him your pet so badly, you did that just so he wouldn't dig up on you. You're fucking disgusting.
No wonder you were pressuring him to marry Crystal; you just wanted to stay in power no matter what. You power hungry bastard.”
“Guards!” One of the leaders called out, and they surrounded Don.
“As of today, you're no longer the Godfather for this brotherhood. Take him away.”
I watched as they dragged, struggling Don away.
“Archer,” I turned to meet the leader. “You’re always welcome back to the brotherhood.”
“Thank you very much, but I'll pass, I have a wife and a kid who needs me. I won't put them in danger. As of now, I resign completely from any Mafia related work.” I bowed slightly and walked away with Savien.
“Archer, oh my God. You're alive?” I turned to meet Crystal. “I'm so sorry, I never knew that Pius would take it that far, please.”
I walked closer to her, and she looked up at me. Her eyes were filled with tears. “I now know what your problem is, just like your father, you have a thing for obsession. You're obsessed with me, but I'm not.
The only person I'm obsessed with is Elena.”
“I was there before her, we had a thing before her, how could you do this to me?”
I smiled and walked away. She was screaming and calling out my name. I wonder how she'll behave when she finds out that her father has been stripped of his title, and she'll never get to live like that spoiled little princess she has always lived like.
