Chapter 525 Exclusive Favor

Chapter 525 Exclusive Favor

When Holly arrived, the scene was chaotic.

She sidled up to Luann, her high heels clicking, and whispered in Luann's ear, "Wow, you've really got your husband wrapped around your finger. Going through all this trouble, I'm so envious!"

Such blatant favoritism and disregard for others' opinions would surely stir any woman's emotions.

"I bet if you said you liked the stars, he'd fly up and pluck one for you!" Holly marveled.

Luann glanced sideways and ruffled Holly's hair.

"Hey, you're messing up my hairstyle!" Holly pouted, gently swatting Luann's hand away.

Just as the scene was being tidied up, someone finally found the missing earring.

Holly personally helped her put it on.

"Good thing it wasn't lost!"

Holly murmured, because back when Shirley and Debra were stranded in the village due to a car accident, they didn't have much of sentimental value. The only thing they left behind was a set of jewelry for Luann.

If it had really been lost, even if Luann didn't show it, she would definitely cry in secret when alone at night.

"Thank you," Luann gratefully said to everyone who had helped.

Myron immediately ordered the damaged carpets to be removed and replaced with new ones.

By the time the doors opened to let the guests in, most of them had already arrived.

No one complained, nor did they dare to say much.

After all, both Myron and Luann were not people they could afford to offend.

Being invited to Anna's birthday party was already a great honor.

Diana sat quietly at the reception, recording the names of each arriving guest.

"Diana~"

A sickly sweet voice sounded from above.

Diana looked up to see Ally's beaming smile.

Diana nodded calmly, showing little emotion.

"You're here."

"Yes."

Ally affectionately took Diana's hand, as if they were very close.

"Diana, I waited outside for so long, my legs are killing me."

Diana responded with a faint "hmm."

"Thank you for your effort. Go inside and rest for a bit."

Ally smiled and took out a delicate little box from her bag, placing it on the table.

"It's been a while since I last saw you. You look well, which puts my mind at ease."

"I found this while shopping for Anna's gift and thought it would suit you perfectly, so I bought it!"

Diana looked at the watch box but didn't reach for it.

Ally, sensing the hesitation, opened it herself.

Inside was a dazzling watch, looking particularly luxurious with a circle of diamonds around it.

"I think this one looks better than the one you're wearing. Why don't you try it on?" Ally said expectantly.

Diana extended her hand.

Under Ally's nervous gaze, she closed the watch box.

"Thank you, I'll try it later. I need to finish recording the names now."

Diana said, her gaze shifting to the line of people behind Juliet and Ally.

Ally, a bit disappointed, murmured an "oh" and walked in with Juliet.

Diana resumed her work.

But when a servant passed by, she handed the box to them.

"Put it in the storeroom."

The servant nodded, "Yes."

Everyone knew that the storeroom at The Curtis Manor was filled with various gifts accumulated over the years, all items the owners didn't intend to keep for themselves.

They would only be used when giving gifts to others or handing them out to the servants.

In other words, once something was put in there, it would never be taken out by the owners again.

Diana glanced at the understated watch on her wrist.

It was a gift from Luann when they first met.

Though not the most expensive or stylish, it was simple and elegant.

Diana liked it and had no intention of replacing it.

"How's the recording going?"

A slightly sinister voice sounded from behind.

The person had approached silently.

Diana calmly looked at the list, the light blocked by the figure, and said, "Almost done."

Watson grunted, "Finish it up and then take your seat."

After a pause, he continued, "Diana, today is Mom's birthday party."

His words, though seemingly out of context, were understood by Diana.

Watson's tone carried a hint of threat.

He was most worried about Diana.

Afraid she might cause trouble in front of the prominent figures of the Upper West Side.

Diana's eyelashes lowered, hiding the turmoil in her eyes.

"Don't worry, I'm not that petty."

"Hmph, you better not be!" Watson said.

Meanwhile, Ally, who had walked away, was complaining to Juliet.

Ally was wearing 4-inch heels today, and her legs were sore from standing.

Her arms were also tired from holding the gift.

Ally gently stretched.

"Hmph, if it weren't for the fact that she's Myron's mom, I wouldn't have gone to such lengths!"

"That watch wasn't cheap!"

Juliet nodded, "Don't worry, Diana knows quality. She'll definitely wear it."

"Yes, I'm confident about that," Ally said smugly. "After all, Diana used to like me a lot. If she supports me being with Myron, I might even help her mend her relationship with him."

Juliet nodded in agreement.

Ally lightly stomped her foot, her tone changing.

"But standing outside for over an hour was exhausting!"

"If it weren't for that troublesome Luann, we wouldn't have had to wait so long!"

"She really has some nerve!"

"We're guests, after all!"

Juliet shushed her, looking around.

"Alright, let's talk about this later. We don't want to give anyone something to gossip about."

"If Luann hears about this, she'll definitely have a bad impression of us."

Her words were filled with helplessness.

Ally wanted to say more but felt a stifling frustration in her chest.

"Who knows how long the party will take to start. Ally, let's rest for a bit," Juliet said, trying to guide her to a seat.

But Ally threw a fit.

"Sit on these hard chairs?"

"That would be even more uncomfortable."

"Since the guest registration will take a while, I'll go upstairs to the lounge!"

With that, Ally ignored Juliet's reaction and headed upstairs.

Juliet's gentle facade faded, replaced by irritation.

"Do you think you're the only pampered princess?"

"If you're tired, I'm not?"

"The North family must be something, raising such a fool!"

"If it weren't for the fact that you're useful and listen to me, I wouldn't waste my time on you!"
